Eastbourne, United KingdomVery comfortable stay close to main transportation.
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We recently spent a week at this very comfortable and interesting apartment less than a ten minute walk from the central station. Given that we were constantly whizzing off to Malmo in Sweden, Roskilde, the wonderful Louisiana Museum and other places, by train, being close to the central station made everything so much easier. Ann, the owner, is very friendly. Her apartment block, part of a much larger and beautifully restored complex, is of considerable architectural interest, dating from the late nineteenth century. The immediate area is highly residential and extremely quiet, yet there are lots of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants within a ten minute walk. Visitors should note that the apartment is on the fourth floor with stairs only, ( which equates to the fifth for some of us, ) and seemingly as with other apartments in Copenhagen, the bathroom is small with the shower close to the sink, but neither of these things bothered us at all. We had a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

nyccozily comfortable and convenient
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
the apartment is comfortable, amply furnished, and quite convenient for exploring copenhagen and its environs. apartment has a good-sized bedroom with a large bed that opens to a small planted terrace suitable for alfresco dinning for two; living-sitting room has a couch, arm chair, and a dinning table, and a television set; kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals (and ann, the host, has left coffee, tea, and some fresh fruits); bathroom is small but functional. the apartment is very bright, thus there is no need to use any artificial lights well into the night; good air circulation with windows and terrace doors open. wifi works well all the time.
the apartment is in a building/community erected in the late 19th century, are very well maintained including the gardens in the inner courtyard; the block/street, skydebanegade, is quiet and almost always free of litter which is a striking contrast to most of the busy streets in the city; close to a bank, supermarket, laundry facilities, numerous interesting cafes, pizza parlors, bars and restaurants, a block away from the park and the city museum, a ten minute walk to the central train station, the shopping mall, and the very busy tivoli. located in a very nice neighborhood, it is a good base to explore the city while being away from the hoards in the city center.
the apartment does not have a lift, so there is always a long trek up to the fourth floor (fifth in usa terms). weekend crowd in a nearby cafe could be noisy at night. -

Helsinki, FinlandSuch a great stay!
Left on 07/07/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed in this lovely apartment for four nights in mid-June. The owner was there to meet us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful in clearing the details about the apartment. The apartment was very functional, cute and cozy - just the way we like it! The kitchen was quite small but more than enough for us, the same goes with bathroom. Bedroom was very nice with a great futon-style bed. And wooded floors were gorgeous. The apartment is in 5th floor on a quiet street so it was very peaceful. There is also a lovely balcony where we had our morning coffees and pizzas from a near-by pizzeria.
The best thing about this gem of an apartment was the location - it's right in the middle of inspiring Vesterbro. On the same street you can find for instance great little Gelateria and cafeteria / record shop. And near by are great little shops, restaurants, bars and more cafe's. There's also an area called Halmtorvet just around the corner where we had amazing dinners.
Tivoli, Stoget and other great places are also within walking-distance. And the Central Railway Station where you can take a train to lovely Malmö in just 20 minutes.
So all in all, a great place to stay and a great city to explore. We'll be definitely going back and hopefully staying in this wonderful apartment again.Response from Ann Falden - 07/18/2012

Walnut Creek, CaliforniaBare bones appartment in Copenhagen
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in May 2011
Appartment is on the 5th floor. Renters should be warned. Owner was welcoming. Location is good. Small grocery store not too far. Some restaurants in the area. Owner was not too familiar with restaurants but did recommend an excellent pizzeria.
After spending the first part of our vacation in amsterdam and Utrecht in very nice accomodations (also cheaper), we consider this appartment to be bare bones and lacking. Our biggest complaints:
1. The linens were inadequate; pillows small, flat and unclean. The bathroom towels were hand towels. There might have been adequate towels available but they were left in the dirty laundry hamper, probably by the previous renters.
2. The appartment in general, though not unpleasant, was not up to standard for cleanliness. Just a little too grungy for us and for the rental fee.
3. Personal complaint: the window shade in the bedroom did not adequately cover the window and did not keep any light out in the morning.Response from Ann Falden - 06/17/2012
Owner
Thank you for taking the time to tell about your experience and also letting me know your complaints so I can make improvements necessary.
Point taken about pillows beeing too small and flat , therefore bigger ones are now provided for the gusts.
Likewise bigger towels are provided.
I always clean the apartment between gust leaving and arriving even though the gust are asked to leave it in same condition as when they arrived, so I find it strange that you don´t think its clean enough.
I ´d like to mention that the apartment has just undergone an in depth house cleaning as well, but that was after your stay!
As for the complain about the window shade ; I take it you are not talking about the curtains as they are for sure covering the whole window as the are measured exactly for that window.
Being a 4 th floor apartment ( its not a 5 th floor as you are claiming ) its quite bright and the sun hits the balcony ( which is in the bedroom ) at around 11 pm . -

San Francisco, CANice and Quiet
Left on 05/13/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Ann's apartment is very close to the train station and Tivoli Gardens, and near many great restaurants. Yet it's very quiet and peaceful. Ann gave us complete privacy, and offered many ideas on what to do while on our stay in Copenhagen. One word of caution - there are a lot of stairs, so this rental may not be suitable for someone with a disability. But for the average traveler, it's just fine.

Long Island, NYWhat a sweet place to stay!
Left on 04/04/2012 for a stay in March 2012
What a perfect place to stay on my first trip to Denmark! Coming from NYC it was so great to have easy access to all that Copenhagen has to offer and also the opportunity to come home to a warm, light, and quiet place, close the door behind me and feel peaceful as I processed my day. So nice to actually feel like I live in the city and not just a traveler passing through. Thank you to ann for making the home such a welcoming and comfortable space. This lovely little gem comes highly recommended!
