Astral Cottage is a charming new cottage in a secluded setting with tropical gardens and a full-size hot tub. This cottage is designed with two stories. The lower floor has a lovely sitting room that opens onto the hot tub deck. This top quality spa is an excellent spot for star gazing. The kitchen is a lovely whimsical room that takes advantage of the tropical setting to give guests an open air insect-free cooking and dining experience. Great place to stay. Spacious for 2 people. Well appointed. Hot tub is big and roomy. 2 decks to relax on. Great views of Coral bay and surrounding islands. Quiet secluded location. I didn't want to ever have to leave.

Had a great time at astral Cottage. Nice to be back on Calabash Boom. Susan, Paul and team do a great job with the properties they've built and managed. We liked having the separate living spaces -- bedroom upstairs, living area and kitchen downstairs. This time, played "Shut the Box" at Shipwreck Landing -- that was a new one. Had an amazing dinner at Miss Lucy's. Fun drinks at Coccaloba and Tourist Trap. Grocery shopping at Lily's Market gave us everything we needed. Thanks to all for making it another memorable trip!

The astral Cottage was a wonderful experience for us! Diane was amazing in setting everything up with our rental car and transfer to the ferry. Dave met us on St. John and helped us stop and get groceries, showed us how to get to the cottage (it's on the other side of the island from Cruz bay where the ferry comes in) and was very helpful in giving us tips and ideas of things to do on our stay. We enjoy our vacations quiet and peaceful and this was certainly it! We loved the view drinking coffee on the balcony in the morning, enjoyed the beaches that were close by (our favorite was Salt Pond), and especially liked relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. The cottage was well furnished, organized and very clean. The drive up was adventurous (very bumpy) but there are paved areas around the turns. There was another couple staying in the villa near us, but we only heard them when they were arriving or leaving. Be sure to check the guest book (as others have said) there were a lot of helpful reviews and tips about things near the cottage to do or see. We would definitely stay here again!

The easy comfort and privacy of astral Cottage make this a relaxing getaway for us two. We prefer the quiet life, so the balconies and the pretty gardens (including a fruiting banana tree) offer plenty of serenity. The open screened two floors provide views of Coral Bay from sunrise to sunset. All the great turquoise beaches are just a short drive--and the beach chairs, snorkel gear, and cooler are provided. We BBQ in or head to any of the different restaurants nearby, or hop over Cruz Bay for fine dining or head out on a boat.
The home is nicely furnished, all the necessary reservations are quickly handled by the owners, and they stay in contact frequently with helpful suggestions. Little is left to do but pack, and each year we find we need less and less... -

I don't know where to begin! The cottage was one of the most beautiful and serene places I have ever stayed. I would be selling it short by saying it was "an upscale treehouse" yet the privacy and the lush surroundings almost made it like Swiss Family Robinson meets Four Star hotel. The view was spectacular, and on one rainy (brief!) morning, we viewed a beautiful double rainbow while sipping coffee on the balcony off the bedroom.The management staff was incredibly attentive, answering questions well in advance of our trip and checking in with us during our trip to make sure everything was meeting our expectations.The only negative would be the road leading up to the cottage - a bit bumpy! However, I think this is a small price to pay for the expansive view and privacy obtained once the cottage is reached.I would definitely recommend staying in this cottage, especially if you desire a bit of peace and quiet on a less traveled part of St. John.

We loved this place and will rent again! Susan made it very easy to plan the trip with setting up rental car and transfers to ferry. The escort from ferry to grocery to villa was also extremely helpful and Brian was super informative. The location is perfect, very close to all the restaurants and easy to get to all beaches. The cottage has everything you need and if anything is missing or breaks it will be taken care of promptly. One of our beach chairs broke and a replacement was dropped off that same day! We usedthe hot tub almost every day and the view from the bedroom balcony is beautiful! The kitchen has everything you'll need including a blender to make frozen drinks! It was wonderful coming home to this cottage after a day spent at the beach! Oh and check out the guest books...full of tips and favorite restaurant/beaches. We will definitely be back!

We looked for weeks for the perfect spot for our 25th aniiversary trip. Astral Cottage delivered on everything the pictures promised and more.
Susan and her staff were awesome. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Every detail was explained in advance and more information and advice were offered when we arrived.
The cottage was very clean and well maintained with attention to every detail.
It's nestled in the foliage on the side of a hill with stunning views from every window and balcony.
The island itself is amazing, with one gorgeous beach after another. Our new favorite thing to do...snorkeling. We saw incredible coral, fish, turtles, a manta ray and even a shark! All the snorkel gear, coolers, beach chairs, etc. are provided at the cottage.
When it rained during our stay, we were happy to stay at the cottage and enjoy the hot tub, hammock and grill.
There just isn't a more beautiful and peaceful place to relax and unwind. We'd highly recommend astral Cottage to anyone looking for the perfect romatic getaway.

My husband and I chose to stay at astral Cottage for our honeymoon in the Coral Bay area of St. John and we couldn't have been happier! Though it's called a cottage, it's actually a private house on the side of a hill overlooking beautiful Coral Bay. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the kitchen was fully equipped with the necessities and the view upon awakening in the very comfy bed will amaze you every morning. On an average day, we spent little time there except to sleep and cook an occasional meal. However we were "stranded" for a half day while waiting for an issue with our rental car to resolve. I relaxed on the deck reading and watching the humming birds fly around and my husband lounged in the hammock...what a perfect place to be stuck!
The owner, Susan, and her staff were very accomodating and available to answer any questions we had. The drive up the hill to the cottage made us feel adventurous, but with those views, it was worth it! Nearby you'll find a few little resteraunts and shops (I recommend the paella at Miss Lucy's!). Even though we visited during the festival, we never ventured out of Coral Bay except to explore the beaches - everything we wanted and needed was right there.
St. John is a gorgeous, peaceful place to relax and play - and astral Cottage was our cherry on the top! -

We stayed for a week at the cottage. The place was really nice and very, very clean. It was a really wonderful and relaxing week. It did get a little warm during the day but the evening breezes were just wonderful. The hot tub was great and the feel of total privacy was wonderful. The view was also terrific.
