Conveniently located right near the two main roads of the Island, DeBolina was absolutely wonderful for our week long vacation in St. John. The house is equipped with all the kitchen essentials, beach essentials and air conditioning. The space is airy and welcoming, and the views of Coral Bay from the balcony are outstanding all the time, but in particular at sunrise and sunset. A 4 wheel drive SUV rental is necessary to stay at this property, as it located off the main road and there are unpaved stretches and steep turns. We had quite the adventure and hopefully will be back soon!

My husband and I just spent 5 nights with friends at this incredible spot. The house is very well equipped and offers such gorgeous decks to view stunning Coral Bay. The kitchen had everything we needed including a great coffee pot and the bonus of an outdoor gas grille. There were ample bathrooms and lovely furniture. The pool was a nice touch as we spent our days visiting lovely North Shore beaches and it was always nice to relax at home after a day of driving and eating. Cruz Bay is not far but it was nice feeling a bit secluded up on the peak. The loft bedroom on the top floor is such a fun little space with skylights and tons of birds flirting at the windows. Both of the downstairs bedrooms are the best spots as you can share the same view that the common areas have upstairs of the mountains, the ba,y and the distant BVI. The sounds of nature were extra appreciated for this NYC group. I slept like a baby.
Our group brought a yoga instructor in each morning to teach in the living room. Lori Walden is wonderful. Hire her and rent this property - a week will feel like a month (in a good way).Response from WindSpree - 06/28/2011

We had a great time at DeBolina, as we have 3 or4 times before. We had no troubles at all (and when we have in the past, the Windspree staff have been very attentive.) The house is great, as is the island. We'll be back.

We had a wonderful week at Debolina! The house was large, comfortable, and had an amazing kitchen--easiest, best equipped kitchen we've even had in a rental house. And what a great open floor plan; the great room/kitchen/dining room was the perfect space for the whole family to hang out together. We loved cocktail hour on the porch or by the pool, with phenomenal views of Coral Bay and gorgeous sunsets. And the location couldn't have been better for us! So close to the North Shore beaches (especially Francis Bay, our favorite), but still easy to get to the South Shore Beaches (don't miss Salt Pond Bay if you want to see sea turtles), and a quick trip into Coral Bay to pick up groceries or hit up our favorite spots (Skinnylegs, Aquabistro). Can't wait for our next trip to St John, we will definitely be back to Debolina!

We have rented through Windspree for many years and have stayed in several of their houses -- in DeBolina the last several times. We love being in the Coral Bay area of St. John, with both North Shore and South Shore beaches easily accessible, and DeBolina has become our home away from home -- spacious, comfortable for cooking, eating, sleeping, lounging, and enjoying the fabulous views of the mountains and the bay. It's held up to 10 of us in comfort, with all of the vacation supplies that we might want. The Windspree folks have been consistently terrific -- warm, helpful, accessible, reliable, accommodating. Issues with the various houses have very rarely arisen, but when they occasionally do (just as they might if we were home), Windspree has been incredibly responsive (including, for example, once coming out to the house accompanied by a plumber on Christmas Day). Our many vacations there have been wonderful.

After meeting in Bankok in 1984 we lived together in Florida for 23 years and then decided it was time to get married. As we could not think of a better place "to tie the not" than St. John, we rented "The Bolina" from Windspree and traveled there with Lily's 3 sons and 2 daughters in law. The accommodation was perfect in every way and we would love to come back one day.

While the drive up to the house could be a bit jarring (road not paved all the way) it was well worth it! 5 bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms (even for a group of 7 women) and an incredible view of Coral Bay. It had rained quite a bit while we were there and the mosquitos were really bad and weren't able to enjoy the pool - so bring plenty of bug spray.
