Description from the manager
La Sirena is a lovely property in an uniquely beautiful location, a truly off-the-beaten path gem of a spot overlooking the sparkling Caribbean waters of Kiddel Bay on the quiet, southeastern shore of St. John, a 15 minute drive from charming and quiet Coral Bay. It is at once startlingly secluded and stunningly luxurious. Surrounded by National Park land and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach at beautiful Kiddel Bay, the villa offers peace and privacy with luxurious amenities. Two equally appointed master suites with private baths open onto the private pool. Upstairs, in the great room a loft over the kitchen provides a third queen bed,...Read more

La Sirena is a lovely property that was ideal for our group of 5. The house is well appointed and comfortable with amazing views. We enjoyed just hanging out by the pool or walking down to kiddel bay, which has some fantastic snorkeling. I would highly recommend this rental and wind spree vacation rentals to anyone looking to vacation on st john.

The house is private and has a beautiful view. It is remote and the driveway is steep (as most on St John are). The last 1/2 mile of "road" to the house is unpaved, very bumpy and not scenic. It is a long way from Cruz Bay (30-40 min), and about 15 minutes to the nearest convenience store in Coral Bay. For major groceries Cruz Bay is your best bet. Several restaurants within 15-20 minutes.
We would have loved at least one king bed but all are queen. Would have been nice to have more comfortable furniture for relaxing but what was there was sufficient. No aC but was not really needed. They have cable TV and high speed internet (but not wireless - so bring your wireless router) There were lots of pillows and towels. Kitchen is well appointed with most of what you would need. Propane grill is poolside. The private unheated pool is a really, really nice feature. Close proximity to Kiddle Bay and Salt Pond Bay which was great as we snorkeled every day. Landscaping is very nice and well maintained
Minor points are that some of the doors/screens do not operate quite right (slide out of the tracks or bind). All of the baths had dual key deadbolts not sure what that was about. Overall very nice and with a few improvements would be perfect. -

We had a terrific week at La Serena! The house is very private, has a beautiful view and is very comfortable. It does not have aC but we did not find that to be an issue as the valley is very breezy. We spent most of our time on the deck looking out over the unspoiled hillside in one direction or the bay in the other. Lovely hammocks! The living room is comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The beds are comfy and there were lots of pillows and towels. The pool is small, as most on St John seem to be, but nice for a dip at the end of a warm day. A couple of comments to make sure La Serena is for you - it is remote! A solid 45 minute drive from Cruz Bay, and about 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store (though there are a couple of restaurants, one casual and one nicer, very nearby). It is about as far from anywhere as you can be on the island, partly down a bumpy dirt road. We loved this, but it may not be the best location for everyone. Also, the layout of the house is such that the bedrooms are accessed by going out on the deck and down a spiral staircase. Each bedroom is self-contained on the lower level and opens directly to the outdoors. Our son (9) was a bit nervous going to bed down there by himself, but he coped. Younger children might have more of an issue. Overall, one of the best things about the house is its proximity to Kiddle Bay, a five minute walk, which is rocky but has great snorkeling. This beach is usually deserted. Salt Pond Bay, a super lovely sandy beach that is calm even on the windiest days, is also very near. We really liked the quiet, laid back atmosphere of this part of St John and found the extra driving to be well worth it. La Serena is the nicest house we have seen in the Coral Bay/Salt Pond Bay area. Thanks for a great stay!

The house was great, only concern I had were the no see um bugs. They were awful, had to sleep with Deet at night to get any sleep. The villa next door had a bird & humming bird feeder which I was very envious of, La Sierena should definitely have these. Disappointed not to find any fresh fish market on the island & that all the seafood was fresh frozen.

Suwanee, GAVery Private and lots of stars at night
Left on 01/06/2011 for a stay in June 2010
We loved La Sirena. It was very isolated/quiet with a walking trail to Kiddle Bay where it felt like our own private beach with best snorkeling of our stay. There's even a salt pond nearby. And, I have never seen so many stars at night. We went in June of 2010 and it was very hot and humid that week...not having air conditioning was tough mainly because of the mosquitos. It had rained the week before so lots of mosquitos. Nevertheless, if you like quiet leisurely vacations with no crowds, this is the place for you. The kids loved it. We'll be back. If you like all-inclusive resorts with everything at your fingertips, this might not be for you.

Left on 01/01/2011 for a stay in April 2010
The upfront information about this home was detailed and accurate. The house was as gorgeous in real life as in the photos. La Sirena is a long, windy an hilly drive from the Coral Bay. We tended to stay on the far side of the island most of our vacation. Kiddle Bay is truly a two minute walk from the house. The beach is made up of rocks and pebbles, not sand, which was fine for us as we're not into lounging on our beach towels. We never encountered more than 5 people on this beach and it was our favorite snorkeling spot. We went to one or two different bays each day but always had Kiddle Bay to finish off our day. We loved the pool and the deck with the outdoor grill was a real treat. The Windspree team was helpful every step of the way. This was a perfect home and a fantastic vacation for us.

LaSirena is a gem. It's location is perfect for escaping the busy everyday routine. Just off a perfect beach for snorkeling and two others within walking distance. Walk to a bus stop and hike back, plenty of terrific restaurants in the area and hammocks to relax and read in. We will definitely go back to LaSirena!!

My wife & I traveled to St John to get married in august. We found a recommendation to check out The Windspree properties in a St John Travel Guide that we picked up at the bookstore. We searched a number of websites and ended up coming back to Windspree for the value & selection of properties. La Sirena caught our eyes right away. We decided to reserve a week based on the price, location of the property, privacy, private pool, outside grilling area, etc...
When we arrived at St John via the ferry from St Thomas, Judy met us at the dock, got us a rental car, showed us where to pick up groceries and drove us directly to La Sirena. She was so friendly & accomodating!
La Sirena could'nt have been more beautiful, sirene & isolated. It's quite the trip getting there but well worth the ride. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic, peaceful vacation, La Sirena is the place! Not only is the house itself beautiful and warm but the location on the island is breath taking.
we certainly took advantage of the beaches, restaurants and shops on St John but we also took advantage of our lovely La Sirena. What an incredible place to come back to after a day at the beach!!! It was so relaxing to take a dip in our own pool, drink some wine & grill some fish. Warning: misquitos & no see ums come out in the late afternoon. Be prepared with lotion or spray. Besides that, we loved every minute of our trip. We wanted to go back this year but decided 2012 would be a better time. You will not be disappointed if you decide on la Sirena! It's heaven on earth. -

This was a terrific house and the views were spectacular. Lots of privacy, which was nice because I got married during our stay. The only drawback was the road that you have to drive to actually get to the house. Make sure you have a jeep with good clearance.

Left on 12/17/2010 for a stay in January 2009
We rented La Sirena for a week. The house worked well for us and was nicely furnished. The pool and grill were both enjoyed as was the porch outside the dining area. Although the house is near the water, there is no obvious way to get down the steep slopes. The dirt road leading to the house is heavily pot holed and not pleasant to drive. Since we usually stay on the north side of the island, it was a great change to stay on the south side and the house is reasonably conveniently located.

Tremendous view. Every morning the birds joined us on the deck for coffee. Great pictures of the Southern Cross at night. Grill area next to the pool was our nightly hangout.
