Oklahoma City, OklahomaAlmost perfect!

Villa Madeline is a wonderful place to stay. The very best part of staying here was the outstanding service from Windspree Vacation Homes. They provided us with:
1. A very nice welcome agent at the dock who had our rental jeep ready for us, including map, and an overview of St. John. We followed her to the villa.
2. A welcome basket of goodies, plus all kinds of things at the villa to make our stay more enjoyable, with ideas of what to do, where to go, how to work the phones, etc.
3. They rescued us when we locked ourselves out of the top part of the house. We called them at 6am and they were happy to come over and help us out! They didn't make us feel stupid or bad or for dumbly locking ourselves out of the top part of the villa. Super nice people; couldn't ask for better service.
4. When we couldn't get the DVD player to work, they immediately sent someone out to fix it (new batteries in the remote, plus they showed us where to tap the box incase it happened again...) No problems after that.
Good things about the house:
1. Lots of room.
2. Clean, comfortable, lots of things you're used to at your own home.
3. Great kitchen; everything you'd want, plus it's modern.
4. Wonderful view from the decks and the pool area... omg... loved it.
5. Pool... just big enough... hot tub=awesome
6. Ac in the bedrooms.
7. The location is great. Quiet side of the island but you don't have to drive too far to get to a restaurant or to get to the villa.
Things that could be improved with the house:
1. A couple of windows don't close all the way. We didn't mention this to them since it didn't seem like a big deal. They need some Wd-40 maybe? They're all screened in so we didn't have problems with mosquitos or anything.
2. The curtains could stand to be washed in the bedrooms... again, we didn't mention it to them since we didn't care much.
Bottom line: We loved the 2 separate bedrooms on the lower level; my teenager could have her own space and we could have ours, and the top floor was the common area. Everyone thought I did a great job picking out Villa Madeline, so I felt great about it. -

Bernardsville, New JerseyDoesn't Get Much Better Than This
Left on 01/25/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My parents, sister, wife and I (5 total) stayed here January 2013.
Most importantly, we all would absolutely stay again and felt it was worth the price.
The views from the decks are beautiful, the pool is deep and cool and the hot tub is very relaxing at night. The house was clean and comfortable. It was located within walking distance from Skinny Legs (10 minutes, pitch black at night).
You are about 15 minutes drive from the first of the north shore beaches (Maho and Frances).
The a/C units, TV and dishwasher work.
The beach chairs were provided and in good condition.
St. John was St. John - perfect.
Not much else to say.
This is my 4th time in St. John. Renting a villa is the way to go, but travelers need to be prepared. I'm not sure if a villa rental in Coral Bay is for first time St John visitors. Stay at the Westin one time like everyone else, see the island and figure out the logistics of planning a villa stay.
St John has mosquitoes. Don't be a victim.
There are no great grocery stores on the island. Food is expensive.
The roads are steep, winding and falling apart. So are the driveways and side streets.
Coral bay is the quiet side of the island. This means there isn't much shopping or nightlife and the walk home is pitch black.
You should know this if you are staying there, they don't bother me one bit but might bother some folks.
The only complaints I have about the house are that the grill sucks, the kitchen knives were unusable and it didn't have wine bottle opener (it does now, you're welcome).
These kind of things happen. We told Windspree about it when we left and I'm sure they will be corrected the next time I stay there, and I will stay there again.Response from WindSpree - 02/20/2013

Thank you for such an honest review! Though the built in charcoal grill is fun, it's not as fast as gas, but we will get those knives sharpened. And bad on us for no wine key! We owe ya one there. Can't wait to have you back.

Buffalo, New YorkExcellent stay at Villa Madeline
Left on 12/14/2012 for a stay in December 2012
We literally spent days when deciding on the "perfect" villa for our annual trek to St. John. We wanted to be in the Coral Bay area, wanted a pool and hot tub, and air conditioned bedrooms. Those qualifiers brough us a list of anout 10 potential villas, from which we chose Madeline. We could not have been happier with our choice.
The villa was nicely appointed- pretty much all the appliances and utensils you have at home are at Madeline. There is a large washer and dryer to help minimize packing. The kitchen works as good as it looks. The sitting area was large and well lit, but the furniture was totally uncomfortable. There was a nice entertainment center (wi/fi) and TV - but we spent 99.5% of our time outside.
The pool is small, but it is deep and has an incredible view. We used it frequently as well as the hot tub. There is an outdoor shower and plenty of deck seating with a view of Coral Bay. There is a built-in grill as well.
The downstairs bedrooms were identical, confortable, and air conditioned. They had bathrooms with showers and two closets. The seating on the lower level was sufficient.
We really liked our time at Madeline. Biggest postitves were location, pool area, and kitchen. The only minus was the uncomfortable furniture. We would absolutely consider Madeline for next year's trip! -

This home was used for a girls get away and it was perfect. The location was ideal and the view was magnificant. It was so peaceful to sit on the deck and watch the sun come up over the water and the moutains. The pool was refreshing and relaxing. The outdoor patio had a grill and table perfect for grilling up a dinner and sitting outside to enjoy it. I truly enjoyed Villa Madeline and my girls trip to St. John. I can't wait until our next visit!!!

Our stay at Villa Madeline was wonderful. The home is extremely clean and comfortable. Loved relaxing at the pool or hot tub while enjoying the views of the crystal clear bay. Walking distance to some great restaurants as well. The back deck is a great place to relax and read a book or watch the wildlife below. I hope to stay here again.

upscale wonderful villa
extremely well designed for site, architectural wonder, excellent job, in conception and execution from one who studies and values good architecture.
only comment, get wireless, since new devices MacBook air and Ipads, et. al, can only connect wirelessly and don't pull in, and wireless routers are the name of the game today, who wants to have to be in only one spot to go on line, it's so cheap anyway had I known I would have brought oneResponse from WindSpree - 01/07/2013
