Formerly the stables of the 19th century country house the cottage sleeps 5 people and can be rented with the adjoining Stable Cottage to sleep 10 people. The amenities of Corbridge are on the doorstep, Newcastle, Hexham and Hadrian's Wall are all easily accessible and guests are invited to use the facilities in the bed and breakfast.

Corbridge is ideally placed to explore Northumbria with Newcastle 18 miles to the east, Hexham 4 miles to the west and Hadrian's Wall only a stones throw away. Corbridge named after the medieval bridge, which was the oldest of its kind, was replaced in 1674 with the now well known bridge with 7 arches. The... history of the village can still be seen today with the Saxon church and the now modern streets are much the same as the original street plans. Known for its quaintness and unique boutique shops Corbridge is the ideal destination to enjoy shopping, sightseeing, retracing a bygone era along Hadrian's Wall and other Roman sites or for the walking and cycling enthusiast.

Formerly the stables for the 19th century country house located just off the main thoroughfare of the village with a wealth of local shops, cafes and pubs including the renowned ‘Angel Inn' these cottages have been converted to provide two cottages in a small courtyard setting. The country house is now a bed and breakfast and guests staying at the cottages are invited to use the facilities and grounds including woodland.

The cottage is gas centrally heated and comprises:

* Lounge with TV, DVD player, CD player and 3' bed for occasional use or child.

* Kitchen/dining room with electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.

* Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.

* First floor: Double bedroom.

* All gas, electric and bed linen included.

  Booked this in order to go to Northumberland show and visit vindolanda.good location for ease to walk into corbridge(few minute).cottage was very cramped and dated.unsafe as electric cooker had no isolation switch..all the kitchen electrics (kettle.toaster.microwave.oven extractor)working from an extension lead hanging off the wall.tiniest living room which also had a single bed pushed in the corner,with the door to the downstairs loo not able to fully open for lack of room past the bed.all of the light switches and kitchen switches were filthy and sticky.the cheap lampshades were all covered in dust,one actually was held together near the bulb with Sellotape.the skirting boards were dirty and dusty and the bed linen was thread bare and creased and looked as though someone had already slept in the beds.the shower room was tiny and the tiled shower was dirty with cobwebs and spiders .the kitchen curtains (looking onto the main road)did not fit and all the curtains didn't look as if they'd been washed/changed for 20 years.the painted walls were marked and grubby.we were booked in for three nights however wanted to leave after two nights,and after complaining to the holiday letting company were told we would be refunded for the the third night.we spoke to the very elderly couple running the b and b next door(owners of the cottage) who said "what did you expect".oh to top it all off in the welcome book you are asked to Hoover the house before leaving!!!awful
