Fair Oaks CAThe Best Burgandy accomodation
Left on 10/21/2012 for a stay in September 2012
What a beautiful place this is, just as depicted in the photos. It has been lovingly converted from an 17th century outbuilding into a very modern 3 bedroom, 2 bath accommodation. The interior is very up to date and comfortable. Our group of four women rented this in early September, it would easily accommodate a larger group. We only used two bedrooms as they are quite large, and each bed can be either two singles or one very large bed.
Both bathrooms are modern with towel warmers and nice conveniences.
The kitchen is large with everything you need for meal preparations with an adjacent dining area with a large table. The area has windows and a patio door leading to the open backyard, with chaise lounges and a nice dining table. We enjoyed happy hours and morning coffee there every day. Sunsets were an added bonus.
The grounds are beautiful. An old mill house sits on the property, and a stream runs on both sides of the house. With the windows open we slept listening to the water.
The owner lives in the other end of the building. However, it is very quiet and we never heard him or saw him unless we made an effort to contact him. He is very accommodating, spoke fluent English, and has a wonderful sense of humor.
This is an easy drive to the area wineries and to Beaune. I look forward to returning for a longer stay on my next visit to Burgandy. My traveling companions heartily agreed that this was the best place we stayed during our 2 weeks in France.

Charlevoix, Michigan, USAA perfect stay combining countryside peace and access to great w
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This week was my third stay at this property and it is still perfect. While being just minutes from Beaune it is located far enough in the countryside to allow for quiet peaceful nights and walks through pastoral settings. A stream with fish runs through the property, pheasant were in the field and a great bakery just 10 minutes away!
The house is impeccably clean and has all one needs with the added benefit of the owner just next door who is not only multi-lingual, but helpful and well connected to enable great visits to top wineries. While looking rustic and charming on the outside, the interior is modern, inviting and comfortable with some of the best bathrooms we've ever had in France!
I can wax on, but the best endorsement is that I look forward to returning next spring for another week. This is a perfect base to explore Burgundy from. Value, comfort and a great location sum up a description of this house.
