A lovely property from which to base yourself to tour West Cork.

Left on 11/30/2011 for a stay in November 2011

My husband and I reserved Lahanaght House for a week during our first visit to Ireland. Traveling down a dirt road to reach the house was quite easy. Do not let this deter you from considering this home for your vacation or holiday. The location was a terrific base for day trips all over West Cork. Delicious restaurants were easily reached within 30 minutes drive time. The closest store was less than 10 minutes away. We dined out several times but also utilized the modern kitchen for home cooked meals.

While staying at Lahanaght House we visited many places: Mizen Head, Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Bantry, Kenmare, Baltimore... One of the best day trips was visiting all the places listed in the Drimoleague Heritage Walkways. An experience not to be missed!

Lahanaght House was absolutely lovely. The pictures of the property do not capture how beautifully the home was restored. It was modernized with all the old charm intact. The home was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners are wonderful people who want your visit to be memorable. This shows in the many special touches they have added to the home. The only negative was the lack of internet service but that was quickly replaced by a good book and a nice warm fire.

If you are looking for a place to get away, this is it. It was very hard to leave. We highly recommend this home and plan to stay at Lahanaght House the next time we visit Ireland.
