Through Cormatin passes the voie verte, a 180km cycle track that runs the length of southern Burgundy. Cormatin is also the starting point of several signposted walks through the countryside.

I recently spent another wonderful week at La Maison du Cure and cannot recommend it highly enough. Owners Chris and Mary are welcoming and hospitable and have thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. Local shops, restaurant and hotel are just five minutes stroll away and there are plenty of interesting places to visit in the surrounding countryside, all to be found in Chris and Mary's useful handbook. It's a real home from home and I can't wait to go back next year!

The house happens to be of a design to enable both privacy and sharing to take place and makes you feel instantly at home.We went from the UK on the TGV and found we did not miss having a car at all. Bicycles are provided for the cycle route and there are so many lovely places to walk to, supplies available in the village, so a great place to relax, enjoy nature and get into a slower rhythm of li

Prince Edward Island, Canadaexceeded our expectations

Our 2012 spring holiday in southern Burgundy was excellent! An important part of this a plus rating is because of our accommodations at Mason Cure.
We discovered the gite on the internet and after looking at many we picked Mason Cure because of its positive reviews, size and proximity to a village.
Mason Cure and its proprietors, (Mary and Chris) exceeded out expectations. From the initial contact Mary made our booking and any another details "easy as pie” .
The gite itself was spacious for the 5 adults in our party. The layout of the living spaces and yard provided loads of room. After a day of touring we always looked forward to returning home to Mason Cure.
The village of Cormatin was perfect as well with delicious bakeries, butcher, café, wine store and mini market.
Chris and Mary are really nice people and if you need advice or help they will be there.
There are many places in Europe and the World to visit but we really feel and hope to return to southern Burgundy with its intoxicating medieval villages and countryside. And when we do, we will be staying at Mason Cure.

The welcome gift we recieved as well as Mary's giuded tour of the house ensured we knew everthing that was required to make our stay enjoyable. The house was perfect, so clean and equiped with everything you could possibly want. Plenty of towels, linen, cooking utensils, tea, coffee, herbs and sprices, cleaning products etc. etc It was like a home away from home. We loved every minute of our stay there and the little village of Cormatin was wonderful. The Castle was well worth the visit and the Boulangeries in the village had the most spectacular pastries - I think we tried them all. The butcher also had a great selection of meats and prepared foods. The place was everything we expected and wanted. We definitely would like to come back for another stay.
We visited lots of other villages and wineries and Cluny was such a lovely village. The people were amazing and I celebrated my 60th birthday at an amazing restaurant in La Croix Blanche, 71960 Berze la Ville called Relais du Maconnais. It was fantastic, the girl at the abby in Cluny recommended it and booked it for us.
There is nothing I could complain about, it was the best. -

La maison du Cur? is a great place to stay in Burgundy and to explore the nearby attractions. It's only five minutes to Taiz?, you can visit lots of wineyards and villages around Cormatin. We really enjoyed drinking a glass of the burgundy wine when the sun set dowm in its glooming light.
La maison du Cur? is a really cosy and comfortable gite. It is fully supplied (especially the kitchen) and everything is arranged in a charming way. Even for a baby it is well set up. We travelled with our little daughter and Mary Wicks had provided the gite with baby stuff (bed, ...) before, so that we could have a pleasant stay. We felt like being at home. We are honestly planning our next trip to Cormatin...

In all the years we have been travelling in France, we have yet to find a better holiday home than the one provided by Chris and Mary. Their website is so informative that we felt ourselves in familiar surroundings as soon as we arrived! We had a warm welcome and spent a wonderful week in the greatest comfort. We are already planning another holiday in Cormatin and can hardly wait to return.

We spent ten days in a very hospitable gits and were made very welcome by our hosts. Meadering around the countryside by foot; picking blackberries, bike; riding the very accessible paths, bus; across to Macon or car; basking in the countryside, was delightful. Travelling to Taize to join the many people in reflective worship & meditation, popping down the street to a patisserie to taste the rich pastries, tasting the local wines and visiting the magnificent chateau were some of the highlights. We were also fortunate enough to join the celebrations of the 1100 year old Cluny abbey some sixteen kilometres away, which was within easy riding distance. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at La Maison de Cure in Cormatin, France.

We were met and welcomed by the owner and were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome package containing a comprehensive basic supply of tea, coffee, etc. which was quite unexpected. The gite is fully supplied with everything anyone could need and includes a pleasant private garden with garden furniture and sun-umbrella. We found it a really nice place and convenient for Taize, Cluny,Macon, Chalon and surrounding areas. A lovely spot in a pleasant village which has a small supermarket, bread shop, cafes even its own Chateau by the roadside which one can visit.
