LondonTraditional, comfy and well situated cottage in Cornwall.

My stay at the Granary cottage was perfect. The facilities were first class and I wanted for nothing in terms of washing machine, dishwasher etc,. The cottage is quite unusual in it's upside down living with the reception room come kitchen/diner being on the first floor offering lovely views and light. The cottage is well placed for the beaches and walks of the north Cornish coast and a real bonus was being a dog friendly cottage. I strongly recommend staying here.

We had a lovely week at the Granary. It's hard to find a truly lovely place with nearby parking which is also preschooler-suitable, but this was perfect. Luckily we're out of needing stairgates, but there was one there if needed. The upside-down design (bedrooms on the ground floor) worked very well, as it kept the bedrooms cool. The place is literally minutes away from Newquay's largest supermarket so easy to get supplies, and for those with young children, it's just up the road from Lappa Valley's play park. There's lots of places to go which avoid Newquay (which does have a bit of a reputation) and it's just 40 minutes to St Ives or Falmouth, or about 20 to Bodmin. It cheekily occurs to me that I shouldn't be saying this place is so good, so we can be assured of being able to book next year too!
The only downside is the stone steps up to the door: for people with mobility issues like my parents I'd recommend the Bowgie cottage rather than the Granary. But if you're a younger family, it's not a problem as long as your children are confident with steps. Taxis will happily pick you up if you want to get to the pub in Newlyn East or into Newquay. It is only small, so if you have a large family then it would probably only work if you co-ordinate booking both the Granary and the Bowgie in the same week.
We've stayed in quite a few cottages in Cornwall, this is definitely the nicest we've found. Hopefully we'll be back! -

The Bowgie cottage is ideal for exploring this part of Cornwall.
We would definitely recommend it for a quiet and restfull break. There is a very picturesque picnic area overlooking a pond, ideal for an glass of wine... or two as the sun sets. -

Both the house and location were perfect. The Granary is set in the most wonderful countryside close to Trerice House. The house is really well appointed and immaculately presented. It is located close to many stunning surf beaches with easy access to Newquay and the shops. We all loved the Granary and would definately recommend it to everyone. We hope to return soon!

We have visited Cornwall on many occasions and this is without doubt the best accommodation that we have stayed in. It had all the facilities that we required, in an idyllic quiet location. The owners were so friendly they really made us feel welcome and at home. It was so good that we have already booked our next visit.

I was pleasantly surprised on arrival. The pictures did not do the house justice and the setting is beautiful. Complete peace and quiet, with easy access to Newquay and beyond. Great facilities and the owners were very friendly and on hand to help if needed.

EdinburghThe perfect base for a family holiday
Left on 08/06/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed in the beautifully refurbished Granary for a week in July. The cottage is fabulously appointed and equipped with everything we could wish for a holiday in the lap of luxury. Trewerry's location is ideal: tranquil and private, but with easy access to any number of local attractions. The buzz of Newquay is just 10 minutes away, and the cottage is perfectly located as a base for touring Cornwall. We were incredibly well looked after by the owners, Rupert and Nadia, who suggested a whole range of fantastic things to see and do for all 3 generations. It is hard to think how the experience could have been improved - we will certainly be back, and I can recommend The Granary without hesistation.

I had a really lovely week here. It is a beautiful cottage with lovely facilities and the location is fantastic too. It's in a very peaceful place but near enough to everything not to feel isolated.
Can't recommend highly enough. I would definitely go back again. -

When we arrived I was really taken aback by the beautiful location. The cottage looks like a picture from the top of a chocolate box, so pretty. The cottage is very well equipped, there wasn't anything we missed. I didn't want to leave, a week just wasn't enough.

The Granery was really lovely & cosy, with plenty of space for all our stuff. Near enough to Newquay & some of the other fab beaches for great days & nights out but also a great place for peaceful nights in.
Looking forward to going back.
