My husband and I stayed at this condo with three other adult family members and our dog. The condo is very pet friendly which is important to us dog-lovers! The condo officially sleeps 8, but that would have been a bit crowded! The condo was very homey and had lots of convenience items left by the owner and other guests. We really enjoyed the patio and it was roomy for a condo. The decor was not fancy, but was nice enough. The master bedroom/bathroom was especially nice.
There was lots of cooking equipment and beach equipment at the condo which made it really nice. A huge collection of movies (Dvds and VHS) and board games and a few books all to enjoy during your stay.
The location within the resort was nice. It was right in between the sound side and ocean side, so it was a little walk to either side, but it was nice to be somewhat close to both sides. There is a "short cut" to the ocean through a little grove of trees behind the house which makes it about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The rec center is right across the street. We rented bikes, and would definitely recommend that! Great area for bike riding. There was a code to get into the door instead of keys which was great since we didn't have to keep up with a bunch of keys and who had a key, etc.
I would definitely stay here again!Response from Eilene Gruys - 09/06/2012

Brooklyn, NYExcellent place for a family to stay!
Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Spacious condo, we had 4 people and plenty of room to spare, tennis courts, sports center in less than a minute of walking distance, about 5 min on a trolley to pools, 7-8 min walk to the beach. Place has a real family feel to it, not your usual timeshare, owner really her heart into the interior. Strongly suggest getting early on Saturday to beat the traffic, morning if possible, and leaving on Saturday afternoon, as the road to Corolla gets busy real quick.

Upstate New YorkThe true meaning of relaxation
Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in August 2011
We have been vacationing at the Comfort Zone since 1999. We have experienced all 4 seasons and would never consider any other vacation home. We are a family of 6 and there is plenty of space and plenty to do. We have even brought the in laws and still had plenty of room. The rooms are large with plenty of drawer and closet space. The dining and living area has plenty of room to spread out for a huge supper, games, and family projects. The resort amenities are incredible with the multiple outdoor pools, the ocean, and the massive indoor sports center all within a quick walk. The Currituck lighthouse and Whalehead Club are within a short bike ride or a brisk walk. There are plenty of great restaurants and shopping to choose from within a very short drive. Some are within a short walk. The condo is fully stocked with plenty of cookware, Dvds, games, beach necessities, etc. The deck off the dining room is a great place to relax, eat outside, or watch a thunderstorm roll through. Watching the sun set over the sound is unforgettable. Resort staff has superior customer service and are always organizing events for adults and kids. Eilene has been wonderful to work with throughout the years.

CharlottesvilleA home from home
Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in November 2011
This is one of our favorite places to go on vacation. The whole family loves it, and it meets all our needs. The condo itself is spacious with several bedrooms, a very well stocked kitchen where I have twice prepared a full Thanksgiving feast, and a comfortable, attractive living space.
There is an amazing collection of movies and many fun games for the kids. I always appreciate the WiFi connection, and the kids love the Sports Center just across the road where we can swim and play ping pong and walleyball (Yes, walleyball, not volleyball!). On the other side of the condo there are tennis courts and a quick walk takes you down to the beach. We also love the fact that our dog can be included in the fun.
I highly recommend this for a vacation stay. We will certainly be back. -

Fairfax, VAHome away from home!!
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in July 2011
We have been vacationing at this condo every summer since 2002, and don't see any reason to go elsewhere!! The condo is spacious and comfortable for our family and dogs; it's our home away from home. It's location is ideal - a short walk to the beach and sound and directly across from the tennis courts and fitness center/soundside complex. The trolley stop is steps from the condo, and is a convenient (and dependable) way to travel to the oceanside complex and shops. Eilene, the owner, goes out of her way to insure that the condo is maintained and your stay in Corolla Light is delightful.

Ithaca NYgreat place to vacation!
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in April 2010
I am not sure now how many years we have gone to the Outer Banks and stayed in this condo. It has been many times. We started out trying to find a place where there would be enough things for our family with small kids would all have things to do. Our small kids are now young adults and we love the resort, all the trails and pools, close proximity to the beach and the first floor condo is so easy to get to and from wherever we go. The tennis courts right outside the balcony are a huge plus as we use them a lot, the fitness facility right across the street is another benefit that we use a lot. The condo itself is clean, and has all the comforts of home. Eileen is so easy to work with and being able to directly contact her when we have needed to (only once) is a major plus. We keep coming back!!!

Northern VirginiaThe "Comfort Zone" is great!
Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in September 2011
In a nutshell the Comfort Zone is just that - very comfortable. It's location in Corolla and is right across from the Fitness Center and is a short walk to either the beach or bay. Our family (ages 52-64), plus one dog, were extremely pleased with our 7 night stay in September 2011. In fact we are staying there again in September 2012.

The Comfort Zone is wonderfully located between an easy walk to the beach and the club house. It is a large comfortable home in a quiet setting that allows dogs. I take my dog Tucker with me when traveling and it is wonderful to have access to such a nice place. Corolla allows pets on their beaches off season and it is fun to watch Tucker running up and down the beach. Enjoy!

The neighborhood is quiet, pleasant to look at. The condo itself is everything one would want on a vacation. Comfortable and homey. If one is inclined to cook, the kitchen is equipped to help in the endeavor. The short walk to the beach is always enjoyable and the unlimited access to the beach is one of the highlights, as well as the availability of the health center right across the street from the Comfort Zone. The convenient location makes it possible to explore the many offerings on the Outer Banks. I recommend the Comfort Zone very much so.
