Grand ValleyA wonderful relaxing time away from the stress of the real world
Left on 06/20/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We had a couple of minor service issues that were taken care of immediately upon notifying maintenance. The home was nice and provided enough space for my family. We loved the location. It provided a tranquil, peaceful, private setting. The kids enjoyed the foosball table and having the downstairs to themselves. The only thing we didn't enjoy and I realize that the setup of the home is to provide the best view for the living area but having the living area directly above the bedrooms hampers the sleep of those directly below if anyone is up and walking around.

Norfolk, VATerry Review 2011

Faboulous house and amazing staff worked tirelessly to get vacationers into house following Irene in late august. House was very comfortable however, could truly use a carpet cleaning.

RichmondRelaxing week enjoying the sun and surf
Left on 09/01/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Our extended family makes an annual trek to Corolla to enjoy the sun and surf. We were blessed with beautiful weather this year, and fortunately weren't there during Irene. The house was definitely a good value for the money, and bedroom-wise worked well for our group. We were disappointed that the downstairs rec room was so small and had such a tiny TV. The kids chose instead to lounge upstairs and watch TV in the upstairs LR/Dining/Kitchen area which noise-wise made it a challenge for all generations. The decor was a little drab, but I think the lack of a second really usable living space is the deciding factor that will keep us from returning to this house.

Pasadena,Md 21122Renovation needed
Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This rental was dirty , most furniture needed replaced (except for the beds on the middle floor / good mattresses).Game room was a joke / 1 table game --that was it plus the room was quite small--brochure was deceiving . The entire 1st floor had mold and smelled musty our entire stay. The kitchen needed acceptable silverware and the pots and pans were so mismatched. My daughter and her family flew in from Texas to stay with me at this "summer rental";this house did not meet my expectations and I would never consider renting it in the future...I just prayed all week while there that my asthma would not be triggered by the mold / I would have had to leave my family and return to Maryland...

MarylandGreat Development, House Needs Some TLC
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We loved the Ocean Hill development and the location of the house. It was a convenient walk to the lake pool, the beach pool, and the beach. Or a convenient drive to either location. The development facilities are great -- clean, convenient and well maintained. The hours of the pools could be longer though. Opening at 7 am and Closing at 8PM or dusk would allow for more use by guests.
The house itself needs a fair bit of attention. The basement has a very strong damp smell. We luckily did not need to use those bedrooms. I could barely stand to walk through the basement let alone stay down there. There was also a problem with little black beetles in the master bedroom in the carpet and bedding. This was helped somewhat by washing the bedspread.
In the kitchen/living area, the door to the aC/Furnace does not stay closed, which is a hazard for children. Also, the ottoman in the crows nest has broken wood supports with protuding nails when the cushion is removed. The carpet is also very dirty looking and should be replaced. New carpet, a dehumidifier in the basement, and an extermination are needed. Also, the upstairs TV is broken. It won't change from channel 4 so the cable would not work initially. Resort Realty sent a repair person who was able to connect the cable through channel 4 and moved the basement TV upstairs so that we could watch Dvds on it. However, a new TV should be installed upstairs.
If the owners would put a little TLC into this house it would be great. -

Blounts Creek, NCenjoyable

We had a great time. House was great. Realtor was great. I liked the online rental. One complaint was quickly handled -- a lock that didn't work on a sliding door. A computer problem was also handled promptly and satisfactorily. We appreciated the service we got from Resort Realty and would definitely consider renting from them again.

IllinoisBe prepared for traffic
Left on 07/15/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The internet connection was not working until two days into our stay. With four exec's who specifically rented the facility with this purpose in mind, this created some disappointment. A solid eight hours of time was spent getting the issue resolved only to find out that the network id and password was different. Furthermore a "problem" ticket was issued three days prior to our entry. I strongly suspect the issue was due more in part to the service provider and not the home owner. There was an odor of pet urine in one of the lower level bedrooms. The drive onto the Outer Banks was beyond ridiculous and enough for us not to return. Once on the island it is recommended that you stay near the home which is close to the beach. The staff at Resort Realty for the most part were helpful except for one older woman upon check-in who did not provide a great deal of information regarding the property and ammenities which again took more time for us to resolve.
