Once again OBX Blue and the homes offered brings no disappointment. Our 4th stay in the "Patterson" and our 7th stay with OBX Blue. The Patterson is wonderful with a comfortable layout and inviting location. The deck provided wonderful views of the "Sound" The entire home is clean. The master bedroom on the second level offers privacy and the master bath with the large "rainshower" is refreshing to start or end your day. The kitchen and dining areas are very user friendly. Thanks to the Pattersons for the second year having a gift basket delivered for the holidays. Great owner touch! We will continue to come back to OBX Blue until we can buy our own vacation/future retirement home.

Even though the outer banks blue representatives were slacking on providing information we needed to check into the Currituck Club, The house was fantastic and the community was first rate.
Loved OBX and our rental! Might consider using another rental company in the future if OBB can't get their act together.

We absolutely loved the Outer Banks. Such a beautiful place ...so happy we found it! Well the property when we arrived looked ok from the outside. When we walked in we noticed a few things wrong. The screens on the screen doors were popped out. The down stairs rugs were dirty as well as the floors. When we went upstairs we noticed the rugs were dirty and it was pretty dusty throughout the house. The upstairs windows some were missing screens, were dirty, the wood around some of the windows were rotten. The fidge was dirty as well. The propane was out in the grill. The hot tub kept on losing water. We called and the came out to fix but didn't work. The pool guy said if it loses water just fill it up again. The only problem with that was the chemicals were gone the the second time we filled it so we didn't get to use it after. The pool was a nice surpise wasn't sure if it was going to be open but it was. The kids were thrilled. The list could go on. The one thing that bothered me quite abit was my younger daughter wanted a extra blanket on her bed pulled down the one from the closet and sand went flying every where in her eyes and mouth. She was crying because it hurt. I felt so bad. Then it made me think where any of the linens washed?? The price of the house for all things we went through was way way too much. We tried not to spend to much time at the house because it would only upset me. The main goal for this vacation was to relax and keep low.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Patterson property in Corolla. The house is beautiful and located in a wonderful and quiet subdivision in Corolla.
We are happy that you enjoyed the extra effort we made to get the private swimming pool open for your arrival, and wanted to be sure you were aware that the chemicals in the hot tub are constantly fed into the water through a chemical feeder so there was no issue relative to chemicals being depleted in the hot tub.
As for the linens, yes they are cleaned by an industrial laundry each time we have a new guest, and brought to the property shrink wrapped so there is never an issue of the sheets being contaminated.
We do pride ourselves on providing our guests a tremendous value by these value added services at no extra charge, and we are sorry that we were unaware of any discontent on your part until we saw your review. Next time please let us know if there is anything bothering you during your stay. In this way we can correct it right away.

We had a fabulous time relaxing with family. We loved having our own pool at the house. The large open great room was perfect for family games and a movie night. The house had everything that we would have wanted. The trolley system that runs through the community was a great asset.

The Patterson is an absolute beautiful home! The master bedroom upstairs was awesome and the bathroom was amazing. The deck and pool was wonderful. The community was beautiful, it is a place we hope to come back to for many years to make many memories. The beach trolley service was great. We have aleady made reservations to come back the week of Christmas and stay at the Patterson.

Our family of 7 (5 children ages 1-9) rented this home, but unfortunately we were not able to fully enjoy it as our daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia 3 days in. OBB allowed us to extend our rental for 2 nights (since it had not been rented) until our daughter was released - we were very thankful.
When deciding on this home, OBB was very helpful in answering many of my questions about the home and area, and I would definitely rent from them again. Our decision came down to price, having a private pool and a whirlpool tub. We were willing to sacrifice location (dist to beach) for these.
The house is 1 mile from the beach (public access). There is no trolley service afer labor day. With it being Sept, we found the parking lot at the access to be pretty empty. (if you're looking it up on a map it's where old stoney rd meets us12). Distance aside, it's a flat and easy walk to the beach from the home on a nice path. The beach was great. There were lifeguards stationed at the access point which was comforting having the kids.
The private pool was unbearably cold when we first arrived, but warmed up to just bearable as the week went on and we had low 80s with sun - so I wouldn't count on enjoying an un-heated pool in September unless the weather has been good.
The inside of the home was clean/spacious, and the beds were comfortable. We also found more extras than noted on the website: two bikes, inflatable rafts, boogie boards, beach toys (these probably come and go with renters). You'll want to bring these necessities: dish soap, trash bags, extra toilet paper.
As someone else commented, there are quite a few "pests" around. We did find a few bugs inside, but this really didn't bother us. The exterior of the home was full of spiders/cobwebs and definitely could use a powerwash. Arachnophobes beware!
Overall, we did find this to be comfortable home in a quiet setting and would recommend it. -

We had 3 families, all with small children and we were so excited to go to the beach for the week and just relax, swim, and take some time off. Well, not so much!!! We arrived on Saturday afternoon (during the start of a heat wave) and the AC was broken. Only 1 bedroom in the whole house was cool. The temps outside were in the 100's with the index and humidity was horrific. We called about 3 times before we were told that they would try to get someone out that evening or Sunday AM. Someone came out late Saturday and reported the problem back to the OB Blue who said they told the owner. The AC tech said it could be fixed by Sunday pm or at latest Monday AM. The owner decided to get a second opinion. So while the babies and children roasted and had to keep towels on their necks at night to stay cool, he sent another company out to check the unit. The second company didn't come out until Tuesday. OK so that is into our 4th day and still the house is sweltering and we are all on edge and getting really stressed out. The second tech find the same issue, which is that the entire unit needs to be replaced, but he can't do it until the weekend. So the owner calls the first company back and they fix it late Tuesday evening and the AC actually cooled the house off by the early AM on Wednesday. So to review they could have had it fixed by Sunday and we could have enjoyed our vacation, but the owner decided to drag it out and let us suffer through the heat. It was very irresponsible and totally disrespectful. I will never rent from OB Blue or this owner ever again. It's a shame because the house was nice, but our whole vacation was ruined so we didn't even get to enjoy it.

We had a wonderful week in this home. Everything that we needed was provided. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub and, as always, the Currituck Club amenities were a plus for our family. We stayed here with another family (4 adults and 6 kids) and felt that this home had plenty of space for all of us. This home was very reasonably priced and worth every penny! Would definitely stay here again.

Lots of spiders inside and out- pest control really needed. Decor needs to be updated. Couldn't see any of the sound because of all the trees. Wooden parts of house in desperate need of some new white paint. we missed our own home and didn't feel this was any nicer than ours, so we left 2 days early.

The home we rented was wonderful. Spacious and had all the
amenities needed for a relaxing vacation. The gated Community
also had wonderful opportunities, golf, exercise room, running
paths. The location was close to shopping and dining as well as
a public beach. Would re-rent in a heartbeat.
