We have been very pleased with our stay in the OBX since we have made this our family vacation spot for the past 5 years. There is one thing that has been upsetting and that is the fact that so many dog owners are not cleaning up after their pets. This year in particular, we have witnessed dogs defacating in the ocean and on the beach. This is disheartening when you have children playing on the beaches and in the water. We are pet owners ourselves but have chosen to leave our pets at home. Ther should be some enforcement regarding pets on the beach since people don't have the common courtesy to take the initiative themselves. We have enjoyed our OBX vacations but would reconsider if this continues to be a problem.
A Good Vacation House

The pool at Ocean Pines is the best. The kids love it and it is large enough to accomodate the various ages. The house is well equipped and set up and the walk to the beach is very manageable. The cleanliness isn't perfect. Under the beds were not great and this year there were more spiders than before.

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks. We stayed for a week with extended family. Everyone had a great time. The house was great! I would love to do this vacation every year.

Nice pool area. Short walk to the Beach. Plenty of Deck space. All in all a good family vacation.

The house was wonderful. Plenty of room and wonderful views. Only two problems--one of which was corrected during our stay...the sliding glass doors to the pool area were missing locks and could have been dangerous for children to escape and get into pool area and drown!!!! Came right away and fixed the problem. The other problem was the top level (where the kitchen is located) had a stairway with railings that were too far apart---my youngest grandchild could have easily slide through and fallen down the stairs. We had go form a barrier to protect him and the older grandchildren. It was a worrisome area and children had to be on the top level for use of the kitchen. Did receive a call from the owner stating her husband was already planning to fix the problem. VERY DANGEROUS situation for young children. Other than these two problems everything was simply wonderful. The house had plenty of room and we had fun. I would suggest that a door be placed to the lower level as the sound of pool playing could be heard on the second level where "party poopers" go to bed early. Too much noise for us older grandparents needing rest!
Totally Great Vacation Home for the entire family!

The house was immaculate. Clean and well stocked with linens. Close walk to the beach- about a block and a half. The rooms were perfect for our family. We were 6 adults and 7 kids. The kids (and adults) enjoyed the pool which was big so we all enjoyed it comfortably. The hot tub was an added bonus. We also enjoyed the pool table. The kitchen was well stocked (the only thing it needed was sharper knives) with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Would stay here again!
Nice House, but service not as good as expected!

House was nice and comfortable. Would have liked a bigger dining room table since we had 10 in the house (table seats 8). Pool was super (big and clean!).
We had some water issues that eventually were taken care of, but Outer Banks Blue were slow to respond and we had to call a few times.
Also, house could use more clocks in the bedrooms. Three of them didn't have clocks!
The decks were great and the location is really nice.

Great house, AWAESOME POOL!, large rec room. Kids loved it, parents loved it. Nice evenings up in the Crow's Nest. Great labeling (sounds silly, but made things really easy in getting to know the house).

The house was great, lots to do. The pool guy told us it was the biggest pool in Corolla!! The elevator was useful. Had fun playing pool everyday, too. Quiet neighborhood, lots of trees. We would recommend this house, especially to large families.

Ocean Pines was a great setting for a truly relaxing and memorable vacation. Three families came together to enjoy the Outer Banks and we were quite pleased with the overall experience, including the Manatee siting!
The property was perfect for a large group of late teens and young adults and the setting was very private. We were all very satisfied!
Very Nice House

My daughters, granddaughter and I spent a week in September at the Ocean Pines house in Corolla, NC. What a wonderful time we had. The weather was a bit blustery at times, but we found other things to do to keep occupied.
My daughters are older, and I have told most everyone who asks about my vacation, this was the first time in a very long time that my family sat down at a table for dinner together, except for holidays. We fixed dinner every night and had a nice relaxing meal at the table. Everything except the food was provided.
We will definitely be back for another relaxing vacation in 2009.
Thank you for this great experience.
