because Blue Kahuna house has it all...and then some! A true hidden gem in Corolla.
The house is situated as the last house on a dead end street. But your back yard is a lake (with has a .8 mile path loop around). Beautiful to wake up each morning and watch the cranes swoop in for their breakfast. A short walk down the street and over one more to the beach access.
The best part about this house was it was stocked! Kitchen had ample supply of everything you would ever need while on vacation...sans a dish towel which we thought odd, but a washcloth worked in the pinch. The best supplies were the beach and pool items...we could have left quite a few things at home had we known this house had it all! From beach chairs, to sand castle tools, to beach umbrellas to life jackets for the little ones at the pool to wheeled cooler to rolling beach cart...everything you need for the beach right there.
Only issue we had was with the hot tub. On the first night we were getting shocked when we were getting into the hot tub. Called Outer Banks Blue the next morning and they sent a maintenance guy out within an hour. According to him the hot tub must not be grounded correctly and to make sure we stood on a mat or the stairs before getting in. So we were leery the whole week about getting into the hot tub.
The house also had two kayaks stored at the pool, but Outer Banks Blue did not know where a key would be so we assume they were strictly for the owners.
The house was very clean and the he washer and dryer made laundry a snap. Another upside was a Sunday check in. Though we did make the mistake of going out on the Saturday before we checked out...took forever to return to the house with all the traffic arriving on Saturday (lesson learned!). The keyless entry was great!
We cannot wait to return to the Blue Kahana and sit on her decks in the ultra comfy Nags Head rockers. Until then, enjoy the Titanic puzzle we left.

Thank you for sharing your comments regarding this property. Indeed the kayaks you mentioned are not a part of the rental due to the liability of the situation, and that is why they are not a part of the amenities listed. We apologize for the confusion on this.
The hot tub vendor who went to the property was to have rectified the situation regarding the ground wire coming off. We have followed up with that company and indeed it has been corrected.

Blue Kahuna is one of the best beach houses I've ever rented. It is updated, comfortable and only blocks from the beach. It's perfect for a large family or large group of friends. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a great value in a great location. The professionals at Outer Banks Blue make the rental process extremely easy and convenient. I would definitely rent this property again!

The house was great. Of the home's many wonderful amenities, I think the kids loved the in-ground pool, the bubbly hot tub, and the pool table the best. They also loved being only a couple minutes walk to the beach (as did the adults). The adults also loved the great wrapping deck, the awesome lake views, the expansive dining/great room for everyone to meet up at the end of a great day. Also, being less than a mile in each direction from the food stores and great shops was so convenient. The family even went parasailing in the Sound, just a mile away! It was a great get-a-way! The check-in and out was so easy, keyless entry, what a concept! The beds were made, a welcome kit awaited with essentials, with a great beach cooler/tote as a gift. Thank you.

We had a wonderful vacation at this house and would have no trouble recommending it. The view of the lake from the deck was relaxing. The kids loved the turtles at the pond. The walk to the beach with the kids was very short. The Blue Kahuna did not disappoint our family.
