COTA13
Bloomingburg NYGreat for a large family
Left on 08/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012
To avoid major traffic going over the bridge, we arrived to the area very early. Spent the day on the 4 wheel drive beach area which was only a mile or two away. Easy check in with code, but the door really doesn't open a miniute early. (which was terrible for my 5 year old neice who had to go to the bathroom) The house was clean and the pool was sparkling. The house had tons of beach chairs and pool toys in a closet next to the carport so there was no need to bring our own. There were two coffee makers and a great kitchen stock of cooking supplies. There were 20 of us and we had room to spread out. The each is only two blocks away and was accessed by a wooden path which avoided any car traffic. Outer Banks Blue was always very helpful and provided great service. The house was really a great price for a large family on a budget. The comforters on the bed should be washed more frequently especially when prior guests bring there dogs. There was a washer and dryer there, so i washed the comforters myself prior to using.

found the stairwell and a throw rug in the bathroom to smell of animal urine;. The pots and pan selection could have been better. Plenty of dishes and the layout of the house was great. No spot lights in the outlets to light up the pool. All these thing were taken care of by the rental agency which we were very happy with

Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
We have been going to the Outer Banks since 2004. Out of all the homes we stayed at this was the best. Just the little things that were done; A welcome bag, the towels was a very nice and welcoming touch. We could have used a few more large frying pans for cooking.

Pittsburgh, PAExperienced some problems
Left on 08/20/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The basic design of the house was fine but we had several problems. Several of the kitchen appliances were moldy or broken including the blender, coffee pots, electric griddle, etc. The pots and pans were very hard to use because everything stuck to them. Several of the kitchen knives were rusted beyond use. The pillows and blankets were filthy and covered with hair. They should be washed or replaced. One of the comforters had a serious stain on it. The dryer was broken and not replaced until Wednesday. The carpet had many pet stains on it and needed to be cleaned. There were two outside grills. One was in really bad shape and one was new. The new one was not anywhere near big enough to grill food for 18 people. The old one was so bad you could not see any of the markings on the dials to figure out what you were doing. I guess you were suppossed to use both of them when you have 18 meals to grill. All in all, based on the price we paid the house was not very well appointed and many of the items in the house are in need of replacement. We asked several people at the realistate company to resovle these issues with little or no response. They were very nice when we talked to them but just did not do anything except replace the blender, griddle and one coffee pot.
One of the biggest disappointments we had was that the owners were apparently there the week before us and they had to see all of this stuff. It was very hard to cook for 18 people with some of these things that we found. If we pay almost $4000 for the property we honestly expect more. The house was not well kept and was not set up to effectively handle this many people. As I said the space of the house and the set up was very nice but that is about it. -

With 17 people, 7 of which were children, the house was not crowded. Comfortable spaces, lots of available kitchen supplies, even several coffee pots. Enough chairs and stools for all of us to eat together, which is unusual.
Outer Banks Blue gives excellent service. The houses they book are clean, well maintained and stocked with extras, towels and bed linens. Their photoes DO NOT LIE. Maintenance calls were handled quickly. An extremely reputable company. -

Oil City, PennsylvaniaTwo weeks at Beachcomber was not enough.
Left on 06/27/2009 for a stay in June 2009
Beachcomber is a beautiful Beach House, we especially love the many areas to gather in a large group, small group, or off by yourself. The 2nd floor sitting room was a wonderful place for a small group of guys who wanted to watch old movies, play video games, and have a mixed drink or grab a beer. A few people got into the hot tub but we all enjoyed the pool. The first week, when my family stayed in the cottage, we played cards and other games at the dining room table, the table in the screened porch, and at a table by the pool. We also gathered in the living room to write a story by circular input.
The walk to the beach is a little long but the parking lot makes it easy to get our stuff to the wonderful sand and surf.
We stayed in Beachcomber in June of 2008 and besides the wonderful house, I love the proximity to the Food Lion and other shopping. Since I hate driving in traffic, having the traffic light always made it easy to get onto Rt 12.
We did have a couple to problems, the hot tub and the Cloths Dryer, but your staff was very eager to help. (Just as they were during the reservation process) The repair people were professional and very friendly.
Everyone who stayed at the Beachcomber during our two week stay enjoyed their stay and nobody wanted to go home.
Because only part of my family could join us for the first week of our stay, and everyone thinks that we should return to the Outer Banks in 2010, we will need a much bigger house. We will, of course, look to OBX Blue first, but we may have to look at another part of the OBX for something that my nieces and nephews can afford to pitch in on. I would appreciate any suggestions that you can make.
I Thank-You for providing a wonderful experience for me, my family, and friends. -

We absolutely loved the house! It was in a great location - just close enough to shop, restaurants, etc. but unbelieveable quiet on the street. The ammenities were awesome. We did not want for anything. The quick walk to the beach was not bad at all. We'd definately stay there again!

Members of our extended family have been gathering at the Outer Banks for several years now, sometimes adding in some friends. In June of 2008, we had a group of ten.
Beachcomber was in a wonderful location, and the space inside was just great. We would highly recommend it to others, and we hope to rent it again! -

Centreville VA2 living rooms, 3 master suites, ocean views
Left on 09/20/2008 for a stay in September 2008
Although we experienced some minor issues (no washcloths, spiderwebs everywhere) overall we enjoyed the house. The 3 master bedrooms and 2 living rooms were perfect for us, we could be together when we wanted but also retreat to our own space when solitude called. The beach was a five minute walk away, it was a great week!
