My family and I stayed here aug 30-Sep 3. Our stay was shortened due to Hurricane Irene (make sure you get trip insurance!), but we still had a great time. House is wonderful, very cozy and charming. I was afraid the 3rd floor master would be hot - but it was perfectly comfortable. Loved the large shower in the master bath! Pool was wonderful, but chilly. Make sure you bring cooking seasonings, hand soap for bathrooms, and dish or diswasher detergent. We were surprised there wasn't any left from the previous renters. There are lots of steps - up to the house, down and then back up to get to pool. Ground floor den was wonderful! Very spacious, my mom slept on the couch and loved having her own space and tv.
Overall - it's a great house! Definitely recommend it for future renters!! But do get that trip insurance...Response from Seaside Vacations* - 09/16/2011

Corolla is truly the best place I have stayed. I have been coming to the outer banks for some 30+ years (as a child and an adult). The beach was nice and clean.
The cottage was somewhat what I expected. It was a little further from the beach, but still within walking distance. The pool was truly the highlight of the area. It was big and spacious for all to enjoy.
They need to update the cooking utensils, and get rid of some of the old, worn-out dishes.

Ten of us had a wonderful stay. We also had two dogs with us and they had more walks in that week than in the past year. Close walking proximity to the beach was really nice. We had bicycles, but more were there for others to use. The large pool was a big hit and the lovely screen porch is where we spent a lot of time. The house was nicely decorated in a Santa theme and cookware,was more than ample. My wife loved the griddle. We played horse shoes next to the house. My daughter used the available crab nets and caught many blue crabs for one of ourmeals. We ate most of our meals inside at the large high table seating 8 easily.
We would highly recommend this place to others and if we ever return to the OBX, we would consider staying here again.
