Perfect for those romantic getaways too! Evenings spent on the deck watching the stars over the ocean or playing games on the screened porch will bring everyone together. Movie night? Ch...eck out that fabulous 46 inch flat screen LCD TV in the great room with surround soundbar. Bedrooms are delightfully decorated to insure that your "own space" will be comfortable and relaxing. Two bikes are furnished so you can tour Corolla at your leisure. Located in Whalehead close to shopping, restaurants, golf, groceries, kids activities and movies. Historic Corolla Village is close by so you can check out the Corolla Lighthouse or Whalehead club. Just a 10 minute drive to the famous Corolla Wild Horse Preserve in the 4 x 4 area for wide open spaces and beautiful wildlife. No 4 x 4?   The location of "Coastal Comfort" was very convenient. It was close to grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping. Although the house isn't far from the beach, the walk was a bit far to the access point on the beach compared to other homes we've rented in that price range. However, the owners made up for that with access to a nice beach cart that fit all of our beach gear, which made the walk with all the kids much easier. The property included a pool and hot tub with a great covered area on the patio. The pool was the perfect size for the kids, and very refreshing. The owners also included two bicycles. We had a great time cruising around the neighborhood.
  
  Inside the home, the kitchen was well stocked. They had every appliance and gadget you could possibly need to cook, bake, or blend, etc. The kitchen was on the second floor and open to the living and dining areas. There was also a half-bath in the kitchen area, which was very convenient. We had two families, one of four and one of five (one infant). It was a bit tight for that many people. It would have been more comfortable for just one family, but it was doable. There were three bedrooms, two baths, and laundry on the first floor. The master bedroom and queen bedroom each had access to the first floor deck. The master bedroom had a private master bath. There was a great kids room with two sets of bunk beds. Although we didn't use them, I noticed a pack and play and high chair in the closet of the bunk bed room.
  
  The owners allow renters access to their storage shed under the house, which was filled with games, pool/beach items, and the bikes. Inside, there was also a great selection of novels, puzzles, games, and Dvds to use as well.
  
  We had a wonderful week at "Coastal Comfort".
  
  Tip: Traffic getting there can be insane on Saturday in august... I would suggest getting in early, arriving before 9 am, and "beaching it" or shopping until the house opens at 4pm. There is a public parking lot just south (walking distance) of the house on Whalehead to park and go to the beach. We were in traffic from the last bridges to Duck for 2.5 hours!!! Not anything to do with the house, but we weren't prepared for this delay, and it would've been nice to know this ahead of time. Getting in late might work as well, but I'm not sure what time traffic died down after we arrived at 7 pm.

  The house was perfect for the two of us, plus the adult couple who visited us for part of our stay. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was clean and well equipped, the living room had all the modern necessities. We loved the in-ground pool, the hot tub, the bicycles, the basketball goal and the beach cart.
  
  If we could make one improvement, it would be a larger deck since this one was cut in half by the screened-in porch. But that's a small shortcoming in what is otherwise a superb beach retreat.
