This was a great value for the location. Beach access is private for just that section of houses so it was never crowded. The appliances are dated and the stairs are a challenge for older people but that's to be expected with a large home. The deck needs an overhaul, I know its challenging with the weather but it seems a bit neglected compared to some in the neighborhood. the views from the upper decks were great. Close to shopping and restaurants, This was my first stay in the outer banks and I wasn't disappointed. Traffic coming in saturday afternoon is really crazy like 5 mph the last 25 miles, I would suggest planning to get as close as you can the night before then try to get there before 10 am and do some shopping because once you get past duck the traffic clears.
Excellent location and good accomadations.

We had a great two weeks. The house was fine, location great. There was a problem with the stove back burner that was semi resolved and the screen on the porch slider was off when we arrived. I installed it.
For older renters I'd caution that the steps up and down to the beach are steep.
My only complaint is the locals who want to rake in the money. There was thunder and we had left items on the beach at lunch so I took my 11 yr olds (I'm 70)in the van to rescue the surf boards and chairs. I have a healthy fear of lightening on the beach so I drove the six or eight houses and stopped in the handicap parking spot to load so as not to be in harms way walking on the street with metal chairs. Normally I never park in handicap...(I do have a handicap sticker as my husband has had 3 hip replacements but it was not in the van. ) I suspect the local gardeners called the cop who gave me a ticket. They also called their buddy with a tow truck. (The cop denied he had called it.) Luckily I was at the van and ready to leave when it arrived. I observed it leaving empty so I can only think it was there to tow me.
Certainly not how to keep return business by hassling the elderly. This has left a very bad impression and I will probably rent elsewhere next year.
Great short walk to the beach.

The house was great and everything in it. Once we read about the fridge it worked good too. We wished they had someone to come clean the hot tub mid week. All in all it was a great location to the beach, shopping and grocery store across the street.

The kitchen needs updated. The refrigerator did not keep adequate cold temperature for the food. The ceiling fans make a lot of noise. The wireless internet connection is hard to get connected. There is plenty of sleeping spaces, which is great for families with kids. The location is excellent for the beach and grocery shopping. Our family wanted to play basketball but no public area for that. Most of the houses around have their own basketball court. The carpets need replacement which make it unpleasant to relax. Read more

Thanks so much for taking the time to review this home. We are sorry that you had some concerns about the home and thank you for bringing them to our attention. Our maintenance records indicate a number of the issues have been addressed. We will certainly bring your suggestions for improvement (the kitchen needing updates, basketball goal and carpets) to the owners. Thanks again and we hope to see you again in the near future.
Enjoyable family vacation

The house was lovely; very comfortable. Would not hesitate to stay there again. The location was great; close proximity to Harris Teeter grocery store. The beach was busy in July but not overly crowded. Life guard on duty.
Wonderfully relaxing; peaceful and great!!

The house was great. Very much enjoyed the hot tub and the tv's in every room. Service of the staff was terrific. Check out was easy. We loved the beach. Not crazy that not all pet owners completely cleaned up after their dogs. Not a deal breaker we would definitely rent here again.

The view from the crows perch and the third floor was spectacular!
Very close to beach. Pet friendly! Beach chiars in the shed.
The managment company needs to do a better job cleaning the place. It would of been nice to be provided with the basics such as toliet paper, trash bags and coffee filters
We would stay here again.
Great Place to Stay

Dream Come True is a great place to stay. I stayed there with my extended family, and we had plenty of room to be together or away from each other. Everything was great and everyone had a blast. The walk to the beach was perfect; it's just right down the road. The beach section that we had was nice and clean too. The only problem was trying to get through Duck to go places like dinner and other activities. Duck is packed and slow-moving. Otherwise, it's a great house to rent.
Overall a pleasant stay.

The pictures and distance for this rental were a little misleading. Online, it looks like you can throw a rock to the beach. Although it is close, this isn't true. The outside of the place is a little misleading as well, although inside (and the patios) are extremely comfortable, and great at night. Overall this was a good place for the money. Best thing about this rental was the distance to the supermarket...walking distance!
Uncomfortable and unsatisfied stay

House needed some attention to make it more fit to rent. Furniture in living room very uncomfortable.
TV in living room was broken and we had a tough time getting Resort Realty to deal with the problem. I made like 5 telephone calls before we recieved serious attention. TV finally appeared fixed by Thursday but could not get the DVD picture although it recieved the DVD sound. Bedrooms were okay. Deck was okay except some small metal tables should have been tossed before the season started (one colapsed from rust and we had not even touched it).
As mentioned, the uncomfortable living area with a bad tv made for unsatisfied renters.
not as described, had issues with home maintenance and service

The home included sheets with the price but there were none when we got there. It took until the next morning to get sheets delivered.
The house is not very well maintained, the blinds were falling down and the kitchen was difficult to cook in.
