Sea Quest was clean and well equipped. It is an easy walk to the beach and had a great wagon to cart all the beach necessities. The outdoor showers were well used! We had three families staying in the home and never felt crowded. Coffee on the deck in the morning was sublime! We really enjoyed our stay!
Nice, but missing a little something this year...

This is the 6th year we have rented this home, and although it served us well (as it always has) this year the house felt a little worn. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that we rented at the end of a summer season instead of right at the beginning, but several things stood out this year:
- Someone had spilled something obviously 'staining' on the stairs and in the main family room. I know the carpet was new last year so seeing it in this condition was a bit disappointing. We reported it on Monday (day after we arrived) but it was never addressed during our stay. Quite possibly it was taken care of after we left, however, since the cleaning job would require more than Spot Shot.
- Ants, ants, and more ants. I know we were there just after Hurricane Irene had left her mark and there were insect problems all up and down the barrier islands, but when we arrived we found ants in the utensil drawers (and some crumbs) and spent the first night washing the utensils. Resort Realty did come twice to try and control them but they always seemed to come back.
- Overall cleanliness could probably have been better, too.
I think the owners of this house have done a wonderful job of providing just enough upgrades to keep the house relevant (great new HD TV for example, and the cake upon arrival is always appreciated!), but it could use some minor additional upgrades, like some kind of blind system on the front of the house upstairs. Dinner at sunset is killer on anyone sitting on the west-facing side of the dining table! I'd also recommend updating some of the shower fixturs in the mid-level bathrooms.
All in all, this is a great home in a great location and it has been "home away from home" for the extended family, but this year the home seemed to be a little tired for us.

We liked that the house was close to the beach, but the house needed some maintenance work. There were a lot of little things - like duct tape holding tiles together in the bathroom, a hole in the wall of a bedroom, a lot of the dressers had drawers that didn't work, cabinet in kitchen was peeling, a broken lock, deck was old and splintery.
Well-designed, comfortable, and extremely clean

Our extended family (3 adult couples and one toddler) truly enjoyed our stay in Sea Quest. The layout of the house allowed each family its own "corner." We have stayed in several houses in Corolla, and this one was by far the cleanest and most well-cared for. Very easy access to the beach--about a 5 minute walk from door to water's edge. Neighborhood is nice, and the house includes free use of the gym and pool. In addition, we really appreciated all of the baby and beach items available in the house! (beach cart, beach chairs and umbrellas, booster seat, play pen, etc.)
Wonderful home, effortless rental.

The web site was very easy to use and the home we rented was exactly what was shown. The rental procedures could not have been easier.
The home had everything we needed and was furnished and decorated beautifully. The amenities of Ocean Hill were great. We used the tennis courts and fitness club and it was nice not to have to bring or rent beach chairs.
Family fun in the sun!!!

This July will be our fourth year at Sea Quest. It is a beautiful beach home with all the amenities you would want. We love the screened in picnic area and beautiful view of the ocean from the upper deck. My grandchildren and adult godchildren
love watching the night time sky from the second level hot tub. We have spent 30 years vacationing at the Outer Banks. It is a family and friends tradition. We can't wait till we arrive next Sunday.
A little slice of OBX heaven

My family and my extended family have been renting this house for the past three years. The home always has plenty of open space upstairs to relax and plenty of bedroom space to hide away if you'd like to. The house is very nicely furnished, all of the equipment is in good working condition, and all of the kids (four in all) love playing ping-pong and hopping in the hot tub. We also enjoy the fact that there are two outdoor showers that we can use when returning from the beach...that helps keep the sand out of the house.
We also love the location, north of Corolla Lighthouse. It's about a 5 minute walk to the beach and it's close enough to the 4WD area of the beach that we walk up and through the fence on many occasions. Another thing we absolutely love is the cake we receive on our check-in-day! Every year we try to guess what kind of cake the house owners will provide, but rest assured it's always consumed within the first few days!
We look forward to returning again next year and creating more memories in this lovely home!
