We have used Resort Realty for many years and have had nothing but great experiences with them. This was our second year staying at Tiki Time. We love it there as they have a lot of outdoor activities by the pool. The speaker system, putting green, dart board and ring game make staying here a great time for all ages. We look forward to going back again next year.
The area was magical

We could not have been happier with our vacation overall.. The Tiki Time house is a quaint little home with a kitchen that could not be better stocked, you will truly want for nothing there. The only downfall was the outside of the place/the grounds left a little to be desired but overall we were pleased. The distance to the beach isn't far at all and the light airy feeling in the house when all the sliding doors and windows were open is awesome. Resort Realty overall were very good to us but we would definitely suggest making the outside of the rentals looks nicer and more appealing.

loved the house--floor plan, decor etc. However it needs to be cleaned. There was a knat issue and a funny odor. There was a spill in the kitchen by the refrigerator. The entire house was dusty. I found an empty chip bag at the foot of the bunk beds. The bathroom by the pool was locked and rr did not have a key so we had to go upstairs. The internet connection was not wireless so none of us were able to use our laptops. I had planned to do some continuing ed requirements. The homeowners need to know that their home is not being properly maintained and they need to get wireless. Read more

You are right, "Tiki Time" is a great house and the good news is wireless will be available for next year. A new owner has taken over and will be doing some upgrades, which you will find to y our liking. We have passed on your comments regarding cleaning to our housekeeping department, and they were addressed. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review.

We had alot of fun in the front yard with the pool, hot tub and games. The house was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Our family would definetly rent there again.
It was a little further from the beach than we had expected
but with the cart it worked fine.

When we first arrived, we went to the Tiki Bar and pool area and I immediately realized we were going to have a lot of fun in the week ahead of us. There were plenty of things to do for all four kids and us four adults. My next concern was going through the house to make sure it was clean, which was a top priority for my wife. It passed the test with flying colors. All the accommodations were great. I especially liked the refrigerator that was down in the laundry room. That really helped in keeping all of our drinks down there so we could pack for the beach more easily. The walk to the beach is pretty far, especially if you have a lot to carry, but the beach carts they provide helped with that. Also, in order to access the pool and tiki bar area, you have to go outside, which was a little odd. We enjoyed have outside speakers for our entertainment down by the pool. The service was excellent. As a matter of fact, the oven did not work properly when we first tried it. A repairman was sent out within a couple of hours. He diagnosed it and recommeded getting a new one. The management company/owner had a new one installed within hours! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone bringing two families. I also look forward to staying there again next year.

I thought that Tiki Time was just wonderful. I loved the decor - it alone made me feel like I was on a tropical vacation, and the place had all of the amenities I could ask for. And the beds were so comfortable and I am very particular on that. My family had a great time around the pool area with the games and with the piped in music. It was great to be able to go to the beach or lie around the pool.
I would definitely consider renting there again.

This house is paradise without the plane ride. Owners thought of everything to entertain, amuse, and bedazzle renters to assure a relaxing vacation. Amazing whimiscally themed decor in every room. And oh yes--the place is spotless. A previous review to the contrary couldn't have been for the same house. ("An inch of dust on the table runners?" really?) Either that or sour grapes from guests forced to evacuate early due to hurricane. How do they sleep at night writing such bogus stuff. Pathetic. This place is great. Best family vacation we ever had. Thank you Tiki Time. Will definitely be back next year!

Our whole clan - 6 adults and 4 kids (ranging in age from 2 to 6) - loved Tiki House so much last year, that we booked our annual vacation here again this year. The guys loved crabbing and fishing nearby, the women loved to lounge upstairs in the living room, and the kids had a blast going back and forth from the pool and hot tub, and to the beach (walking distance). We plan on coming again next year!

The house and the ideas of the decorating themes are very cute. when we arrived, we had to spend the entire first day cleaning. The house was in deplorable filthy condtion. The cleaning ladies who had to come and help were disgusted themselves. there were spider webs everywhere. the table runners on the stand had no joke about an inch or more of dust and hair on them. the ceiling fans had long webs hanging down. the silk plants which i recommend getting rid of were so dusty. there was dried food on the dishes and table mats. the refrigerator downstairs was so filthy we were unable to use it. the bathroom by the pool was nice and the pool was clean. my 4year old like the monkey room. the outside speakers were a nice idea. i would recommend painting the outside, having someone clean all the windows as they are nasty. a good thorough spring cleaning every year and an exterminator. we lost one whole day to cleaning and then had to leave early due to hurricane...
House had a leaky roof
Left on 08/14/2010 for a stay in July 2010 | Paul
Overall the vacation was good. The main problem I had was that the third floor bathroom (my Bathroom) had a leak and my floor was wet the entire week (starting Monday). Maintenance came out but obviously could not resolve. We also had hornets around the pool all week but understand that it was just annoying and with little kids you get nervous.
Tiki Time Stay...unfortunate.

We encountered a few problems right from the beginning. The linen service never picked up three large bags in the front of the house and the garbage was not removed causing many flies to swarm around the cans. We were also missing 4 pillows in the guest bedrooms. Parking of course was an issue but made abundantly clear as a "no no" by a residing neighbor. Security was then called on us several times leaving my wedding guests to have their vehicles shuttled to a nearby parking lot. We did our best and this made for an uncomfortable situation. We then proceeded to stay the rest of the week alone and had no further problems until check-out when the realty company called and stated that the owners were furious. Apparently we were told to remove the linens and place them on the floor by the door, by linens I thought to go ahead and strip the bed of everything thinking that that was the sanitary thing to do, not the case. My wife kept the house very clean and what was broken, like the outdoor shower head and vane on the vertical blinds was already broken upon our arrival. We were then called and told certain information on the way home, stating that the owners did not want us to return and that the house that meant a lot to us was off limits. We would like to return but not where a resident lives nearby, it was not deemed as an "Event House" but named "Tiki Time" based on Margaritaville with a built-in bar and blenders and well kind of a party theme, guess we mistook the basis of it then. On a lighter note, we cannot stress how wonderful the staff was and how much we appreciated all of their help and understanding regarding this unfortunate visit. We will definetly be using them again for our future stay.

We had an absolute wonderful trip during our stay in Corolla, NC June 2010, in part to our great accomodations at Tiki Time. The margaretaville based theme was great, especially with the beach near by. Loved the outdoor Tiki bar, pool, hot tub and games. I was getting pretty good at darts by the time I loved. The outdoor speaker system and lighting was really nice. Wish I could stay longer. Hope to visit again soon. My husband and I our 2 teenagers and their 2 friends had a great time!!!

Most Awesome Recreation Area!
Left on 10/17/2009 for a stay in October 2009 | Well-rested, revitalized vacationers
As for the realty company handling this home, we could not have been more pleased. We called at the last minute and our representative was extremely professional and helpful in assisting us with a rental, though she had such short notice. Upon arrival at 2:00 am, everything we needed (keys, paperwork, coupons and Outer Banks info) was awaiting us in a drop box at their office. Wonderful experience! As we pulled into the driveway, we were grateful that the owners had rope lighting on timers on the outside stairway and decking and lighting on the tree by the pool so guests don't have to stumble around in the dark. The home itself was an older home. It would have been nice to have had remodeled bathrooms with whirlpool tubs. The number of bathrooms was a wonderful asset of this home. The bedrooms were comfortable and nicely sized. We thoroughly enjoyed the king beds! The house was carpeted, but I would recommend either hardwood flooring or tile. The front of the house is fantastic, as it is a chalet style with the front all glassed. This was great for views, sunlight, deck access, and letting the bedazzling beach breezes blow through for comfort and enjoyment. A remodeled and upgraded kitchen would be a plus. The living areas with t.v.'s on each level was greatly appreciated. The house was appointed with a tremendous variety of movies and c.d.'s for guest enjoyment. Another small issue was that the laundry was located on the ground level and there was no access from within the house. It was a little inconvenient to have to go outside and down the stairs to access the washer and dryer. Another area my family would have preferred a change would have been to have a spiral staircase running from the top floor decks down to the pool area. The highlight of this home is the pool and patio areas. Wow!!! My family got many ideas from this recreational area that we brought home. Words cannot express the fun and pleasure of this area! Privacy! It must be personally experienced! :)

We received wonderful service from Resort Realty. They were always professional and helpful. The house was GREAT! It was clean and everything was in working order. The bar area was never in the sun so we could sit down there all day long and be comfortable. We liked the fact that the hot tub was on the patio with the pool right there. It was a little farther from the beach than we expected, but we all stayed in shape between the walks to the beach and having to walk up and down the 2 flights of stairs to the kitchen! (Stairs from the pool area into the house would have been convenient) There was plenty of privacy, hardly knew we had neighbors. We were located close to the grocery store and Timbuck II shopping village. The best part of our vacation was definitely the house and the beach. There were helpful hints posted throughout to make the stay more comfortable. I know I personally didn't spend much time in the house (neither did anyone else for that matter) except to sleep because the tiki bar was so relaxing. Oh, and the Ring Game was a hoot! There was nothing really negative about our experience, so I guess I would have to say that the walk to the beach would have to be the thing we liked least. I would definitely rent this property again if given the opportunity. In fact, we all pitched in to try to win the mega millions lottery so we didn't have to leave!

Tiki Time was the most fun we have had at the beach in a long time. The house with all of is't amenities was more than we asked for. The walk to beach however was a hike for the older adults in our party. But the pool and hot tub made up for it with them. Our experience was a nice one.

The home is a nice home and fun theme. It is in need of renovation. The windows and sliding doors are very hard to open. There is no entrance to the home on the ground level making access to the pool area inconvenient. The narrow steps to the entrance are slippery and in need of power washing as are the decks. The washer and dryer are outside the house and stored in a closet on the ground level. It is a long walk to the beach.
Management staff was very friendly and easy to work with.

Liked the house a lot. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub area, bar was fun. Would recommend the washer and dryer be in the main house, did not like having to go outside to wash. Ants in the kitchen and on the bedroom ceiling. Otherwise would rent again.

We enjoyed our stay at tiki time. We have visited the outer banks for the past 5 years. This was our first time with resort realty. Our trip was great, the house was very clean and inviting. We hope to visit again soon and would rebook tiki time without a doubt. The colors and ambience of the home were so relaxing. The only somewhat negative thing would be to see a stairway or entrance from the pool to the house.

Tiki Time Review

The house was nice, however, there were some issues I am sure the homeowners would not have been happy about. For example, there was a lot of dust and cobwebs. Also, the outdoor bathroom was locked and a key could not be located until the last day of our visit. We had to walk through the house to use the facility! I am not sure why a locksmith could not have been called. There was a lot of noise from the third floor to the second floor, which we were not prepared for. The house was a bit further from the beach than we orginally anticipated too.
However, overlooking the issues, the house was nicely decorated and acommodating. The pool was awesome.. we spent a lot of time there!

We had a very pleasant stay in Corolla thanks to Tiki Time! The cottage was decorated perfectly to put you in the island mood. The pool, hot tub, tiki bar...great! Our family had a very nice stay and recommend it to anyone wanting to relax by the pool while listening to some island tunes. If you want to wake up to the sounds of the ocean waves you can forget it. The beach is quite a hike!
