The house was very nicely decorated and had great amenities (pool, hot tub, 2 decks). The only drawback we found was the AC system. It iced up a couple of times. But the owner is replacing it this Fall. The Monteray Shores community center was great and Janice was very helpful! We are looking forward to returning next September.

The Southern Shores rental process was organized and easy. The house was ready and clean on arrival, and getting checked in was quick. The house is nice on the inside, clean quality furnature and comfortable beds. The kitchen is well equipped and functional. The outside of the house needed to be cleaned up. There was a large number of mosquitoes (hundreds) in the carports, most had been trapped in spider webs, but many still flying around, nesting on our car, etc. The pool was clean and nice, but it sits on the side of the house that is shaded for most of the morning, and much of the afternoon, we were looking for a little more sun and ended up spending our time at the beach. The house location specifically was less than ideal backing to a swampy area, the location in Corolla was ideal for a family vacation, looking for quiet relaxing time.

We enjoyed this home, but we selected this property specifically
because it had a pool. The pool was filthy. We reported this to
Southern Shores and they were no help. We were able to use the pool
during the 1st two days of our stay. There was a storm on the second
night, and the pool was covered with dirt and debris. We called
repeatedly asking to have it cleaned. This never happened. We didn't
feel comfortable swimming in the pool for the remainder of our stay
because of its condition. This was a major damper on our vacation.
Unfortunately, we also reported this when we returned home. We
repeatedly were told someone would get back to us. This never
happened. -

This was our 1st time visiting the Outer Banks. We couldn't of gotten a better place. We were close to EVERYTHING. We had our own pool, another community pool and a short drive to the beach.
This home is great for 1st timers. Private street, not much traffic. Good for kids who want to ride there bikes.
The house accomidated us well, for we had two little ones who slept in port-a-cribs in the master bedrooms while the two grandma's stayed in there own rooms. Plenty of room. Very comfortable. -

The house was nice but there were some things that I didn't like.
There were no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms. The week we were
there it was really hot. So sleeping was interesting, I think I got up
every few hours to turn the AC cooler. If there were ceiling fans that
wouldn't be a problem. There were also no exhaust fans in the
bathrooms either. That I found really strange. There were very few
kitchen utensils. The owners should reevaluate. Overall the house was
OK. The one bad thing was that it was the first house off the main
drag, so whoever got lost had to turn around. So they ended up in our
driveway. We also brought our kids' bicycles, so we had to be extra
careful of the people turning around. Our vacation was nice, but I
would definitely stay else where the next time. -

We just spent a wonderful week at the ULTRA CLASSIC House and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we vacationed in The Outer Banks - and it was perfect. The
house tucked off the road and in a quite cul-de-sac. The house was available to us five hours early, so we got the keys and drove right to the house. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were pleased to
learn that the pictures online matched the home. It's actually nicer than the pictures! We'd definitely recommend this house - We cooked, the grill outside worked better than our own. We had a lot of time to relax on our vacation! We'll be back next year. We had to clean the grill out - but no big deal. Enjoy.
