      Great Vacation

      We stayed for a week in Summertime in late March 2013. I think we were basically the first guests of the spring, so there were some maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. Seaside was great, they always came right away to address our concerns.

      The theater seats that people mentioned in earlier reviews have been replaced and are fabulous! There are now nine leather recliners that are very comfortable. The representatives at the rental company thought that they would not be ready in time for our stay so we were pleasantly surprised that they had been replaced. We all thought the theatre room was super nice.

      The view from the kitchen and dining room is great! We saw pelicans, deer, dolphins, and even whales from the dinning room! The weather was unusually cold, so it was nice to have a view of the ocean from inside. The kitchen was very well stocked with all manner of pots & pans. The views and the well appointed kitchen distracted us somewhat from the fact that the chairs in the dining room were basically falling apart. The back of one of them fell off while we were there and the maintenance people took it to see if it could be repaired. I think the chairs just need to be replaced, there were clearly more of them at one point, but the sea air has taken it's toll. The bench on the roof-top deck also collapsed from rot.

      The decor is eclectic as is clear from the pictures, but it's fun, I will say that the life-sized pirate in the stairwell did make me jump once or twice. Some of the furniture is large for the rooms, but I prefer king-sized beds to extra floor space.

      It wasn't yet pool season, but the hot tub was nice. The pool itself looked to be somewhat larger than most of the itty-bitty pools that you often see at rental homes.

      Overall, it was a great week and I would definitely recommend Summertime!

      Everything was wonderful.

      The service was very good.We had a few minor situations, called them in,everything was taken care of with in a very short time.The was house was very spacious.The kitchen was breath taking.All bedrooms had pvt. bathrooms plus half-baths on each floor.The theater room was great for us tocome togather and watch movies and eat popcorn. The elevator was a much needed amenity being on the 3rd floor.We hope to vacation there again soon.

      Amazing Vacation!

      We had a wonderful time in Corolla. The location of the house was terrific. The house was great, but needs some upkeep. (Some of the furniture if falling apart). Also, most of the game pieces are broke or missing. (Pool sticks, darts, etc.) The views from the roof are great and we enjoyed being up there morning and night. Seaside was really prompt to respond anytime we needed anything. I would rent from them again. All in all, it was a fabulous week!

      Highs and Lows

      First the highs: The "Summertime" unit has a great location and a great view. The home is spacious. The pool and jacuzzi were a big hit for my family. The Seaside Vacation staff attempted to help resolve the many issues we encountered upon arriving to the
      home.

      The Lows: Before we arrived to the home I had a difficult time getting a clear copy of the lease agreement. Several times I requested a copy that was clear/in focus an not a size 2 font. After being treated poorly by a representative a manager apologized and resolved the problem. During our stay at "Summertime" we encountered major problems with the a.C. unit. The two lower levels of the home, where the majority of bedrooms are located, were extremely hot at night. It appeared the a.C. was on a timer. Management brought us fans but couldn't figure out the problem w/ the a.C. The system in the theatre room didn't function properly. Management informed me that someone would fix the problem that day -- however, no one showed up the day of our departure. The BBQ grill was Filithy! Some of the furniture in the home is torn and taped up. Overall, my family made the best out of the situation.

      Totally Relaxing

      Seaside was very accomodating, when we needed anything they provided it quickly. The home was exactly as described from the advertisment and other reivews. The location and ammenities were fantastic. The ease of beach access and having the pool & jacuzzi was great, especially with a larger group. There are a few maintenance things that shoudl be done around the house from normal wear and tear. There was nothing that would stop us from coming back, in fact we are planning on it. This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and this home left us with a great impression.

      In need of repair

      This is the second time our group stayed in Summertime. While we didn't have any trouble with the grass around the pool and were not put off by the grill, which was not the cleanest I have ever seen, this house is in need of capital improvements. If the owner won't invest, we won't be back.

      To start with the positive, the location is truly fantastic. The house is right next to what is either a nature preserve or just a large undeveloped lot so the house feels very private. Beach access is just a few steps away and spending nights on the roof deck hearing and watching the surf roll in under the starlit sky is an experience that can't be beat. The furniture is a little beat up at this point in the kids bedrooms and common areas, but the king beds (and I agree with the prior commenter that the furniture is way too big for the rooms, but we don't care much about that) were comfortable. The decor in the house isn't what I'd call nice, but it is fun and the kids liked it. One note, don't let kids open the treasure chest in the movie room. The top is fairly heavy and it closes very quickly. The house has a fair selection of movies and xbox games. If you have an xbox, just bring games so you know you have what you want. Playing on the movie screen is a lot of fun. The kitchen counter was a great place to feed the kids while the adults ate around the table and the kitchen was nice enough and had sufficient pots/pans/appliances... We also noticed that there was no handle on the faucet for the hose outside the front of the house, but we told the management company on Monday and we had one a few hours later, they also snaked the shower drain in the 3rd floor master, which was not draining well.

      Now for the negatives. Given the prior review, I'll start with theater room. They need to replace the seats, period. We shared the prior reviewer's concern with the chair that essentially had two metal supports for the footrest sticking out without the cushion. We didn't know that we could turn it over or we would have. Someone clearly attempted to fix that and several of the other seats with duct tape, but the setup is well past that now and requires some investment. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use the theater much because the bulb on the projector blew on Monday and was not replaced until Thursday. When I called the management company, I told them that the bulb blew and when the repair person came out on Wednesday, he confirmed that but did not have a bulb with him and did not order the bulb until Wednesday, so it was not installed until Thursday. I understand that the repair guy has to confirm the problem, but would it be too much to have an extra bulb somewhere? Having no movie room and 6 kids under 10 to amuse each night isn't what we expected to have for more than half of our rental period in a house that comes with a movie theater. I'll also note that the theater room, other than the condition of the chairs, was not clean. We had to retrieve a remote that fell through a cushion and there was a fair amount of old food under the seats. Gross. The lights along the side wall of the theater also didn't work. It isn't that tough to test and change light bulbs; someone should do that. I also agree with the comment about the carpet. Sand and shag don't mix. Also agree that, for a house that can sleep something like 20, there is insufficient seating around the pool and on the decks. Really, though, if there was sufficient seating, you wouldn't be able to navigate around the pool. The decks are in need of repair - there were a bunch of nailhead sticking up and I'm not one to wear shoes often at the beach, so that was not great. The railings all need paint and the first railing on the deck near the kitchen is actually no longer attached at the bottom. We didn't notice that until the end of the trip, but if we had noticed it earlier, we never would have allowed our kids out there. Shocking that we were not warned or, alternatively, that the management company didn't know. That railing is a serious safety hazard.

      Finally, with 6 kids between 6 and 9, we found the pool to be a bit small. The kids were often jumping in way too close to each other so we were constantly after them to calm down. Not really a knock on the house, the pool is what it is, but if you have a lot of active kids, you might be better off with a place with a larger pool or access to a community pool. There are community pools in the area, but Summertime renters do not have access to them.

      All of the above being said, if the owners put some money into updating the movie room, flooring, some of the furniture (dining room chairs and bunks on the second floor in particular) and decks, we would rent Summertime again. The location is every bit that good.

      Great time with family and friends made up for a run down house

      Great upstairs, and a great view off of the decks toward the ocean over the wildlife area. Saw many deer and fox.Bedrooms: even though the furniture in most bedrooms were made for giants and the rooms were made for normal size humans, the rooms were nice and the beds were very comfortable. The Theater room was amazing,However,you must replace the chairs. Not only were most broke, one had the metal sticking out and had to be turned over the whole trip so little kids wouldn't cut themselves. The pool area was dirty and the grass was very overgrown. The grass on the corners of the cement were no kidding almost 2 feet tall in places. When you sat down in the chair, you were literally hidden behind grass. The grill was so dirty we didn't even think about using it. The carpet in the hallways and leading up the steps was shag. Shag with water and sand just don't mix. There is an outside front hose to wash off from the beach but the knob is missing so you can't turn the water on. You must go behind the house to the pool shower to wash off, you must navigate this over large rocks. Finally, we were extremely upset with the lack of caring from the rental staff on Sunday. Saturday it is customary to check the house for issues, and call to let the rental agency know things in need of fixing. We called because the upstairs bathroom toilet did not work and the grass around the pool needed to be cut. She said ok about the toilet but seemed very annoyed with mowing the grass around the pool. Hello people, if your going to put grass around a pool, it needs to be mowed. Well, on Wed there was a knock on the door. No plumber, it was a new receiver for theater room (that didn't need to be replaced.) Later the plumber showed up and on Thursday they cut the grass in the early afternoon. We now had two days to enjoy the toilet...and 1 day to enjoy the pool. Oh yeah, we had to fish the grass out of the pool, the guy just left it. Finally, the outside of the house is infested with spiders.

      Great for a crowd

      There were 22 of us. However, 11 of them were under 15. The space for cooking and eating was great. We could seat 22 with the table and counter bar. Good view of the ocean. The brush area seen from the dining area had deer and foxes roaming quite frequently. The down fall was the numerous calls needed to be made for fixing things as lights, refrigerator, disposal. Response to calls was good. The theater room was awesomne but needs updating as we had to be careful where we sat. Afew of the bedrooms are overcrowded with furniture. The pool was large enough for us to get 22 people there but could use a little more out side space. When the temperature climbed to 110 degrees, the top floor was not very comfortable. With some updating we would be happy to stay there again.

      Fun House - Great Location

      Summertime is located in a great spot, just steps from the beach access. The art in the house was fun, and the living area was large with excellent panaramic views. The house could use a seperate ice maker and the chairs in the entertainment room are beat up pretty bad (watch you don't scrape your leg on the metal bar sticking out of the middle row chair, however the rest of the house and location made up for the few flaws that could easily be fixed by the owner. For once, I will comment on the rental company - Seaside Vacations was excellent - the toaster broke and they provided a new one right away, the propane tank was empty and they dropped a new one off within an hour. The service was a+. If you stay here, do not rent beach carts as you are very close to the beach and they are impossible to get up and down the steps.

      Midwest Family Loves OBX

      We have been to Corolla several times now and although this house could use some repair ( some of the furniture isn't in good shape and the carpet really needs to be replaced ) and the kitchen needs some organization (everything stuffed in random places ) we really enjoyed the house. There was plenty of room for our Six families to spread out. The fact that every bedroom had a private bath along with two hall bathrooms was great. We loved the pool and hot tub, as well as, the gameroom and movie room. (The theater seating mostly all needs to be replaced. ) The elevator is slow but nice for groceries etc. There are 6 rooms with king beds but 5 of these 6 rooms are so crowded with furniture that there is only enough room to sidestep around the place. (We didn't spend a lot of time in the rooms so it only bothered us a bit). We thought the eclectic collection of decorations was fun and loved the ocean views from the decks and inside the home. It really is a great location--- backing onto preserved land so the are not any backyard neighbors. This also makes it very uncrowded on the beach (since there aren't any houses for 1/2 mile to the south there is that much "open " beach---awesome!)
      Although there were some things that bothered us about the condition of the house and the oversized furniture in the rooms that made it feel crowded, we loved the size, layout and location of the house. We had great service from Seaside Vacations and especially liked the easy electronic check in and out. We had a fun vacation.

      We Love the OBX

      The house location to the beach was awesome. A few quick steps and you are their. The house had everything we needed so there is no need to bring anything other than our suits and beach towels. The house could use some updates; such as the carpet was in bad shape and the railing on the deck outside the great room was falling apart. Be careful with some children. The only other down side was the funture in most of the bedrooms were way too large for the room. Very little room to walk or enjoy the room. The one room in the basement there was no room to walk around or open dresser drawers. If you are not a tiny person they would have trouble.
      The house could have been cleaned better. We found food crumbs under beds and several articals of cothing that was left behind from others.

      We loved the area. We were not however, impressed with the house. Many of the movie chairs were broken and we found the whole bottom floor in need of a super deep cleaning. The second and third floors were better. The carpet is in pretty bad condition so I think that gave the appearance of being really dirty. We were satisfied with the pool, the decks and the hot tub. The kitchen and dining room were good and we liked the fact that the table was condusive to big parties and conversation.

      Good Location, Great View

      Overall this was a nice place to stay. We did have some difficulty getting the audio visuals in the media room to work -- it was pretty complicated -- even the guy that came out (from Seaside Rentals) to help (a day late) was of no help. The only other negative was that one of the knobs on the stove was broken and the labels were worn off so you could not tell which controls controlled the top and bottom ovens. Cool nautical decor and fantastic location next to beach. Our rental was off-season - just got together to watch first couple rounds of Ncaa basketball tourney.

      I am sorry that we had trouble diagnosing and addressing the issue with the media room in a timely manner. We do strive to make sure that when a guest reports something that needs our attention, that we do attend to it as quickly as possible. I know that at this point, the owners have hired professionals to asses the media room and ensure that everything is wired correctly in order to minimize any confusion for the guests. There should be no problems with the operation of the media room and its components moving forward.

      The knobs on the stove were also replaced as well. Thank you very much for reporting this to us.

      Great Stay!!!

      This is our second family vacation at this house and we absolutely loved it. The location is great, right on the beach. We love the pirate theme and the views out the window. The only downside is that the outdoor jacuzzi broke days before we arrived. We were reimbursed but sitting in the outdoor jacuzzi on cold nights was a highlight from our trip two years ago.

      We had a wonderful family reunion! The chairs in the dining room need to be replaced. Several were broken. The house was infested with flies and knats all week. The furniture was huge for the space, but we managed. The theater room was nice (except for a broken chair). Everyone appreciated the elevator, pool and hot tub as well as the close proximity to the beach. Bedrooms were nice. This house just needs a little upkeep and the furniture in the living room and dining rooms need some maintenance and some things just need to be replaced. The gas cylinder for the grill was empty and we had to buy a new one, but the rental office is going to reimburse us, which I was pleased with. Calls to the office for repairs and replacement (as much as they could do) were handled quickly and efficiently. All in all, a great vacation.

      Amazing House!

      We had such an amazing time staying at "Summertime". The house was amazing. We had 22 people ranging from 4 to 76 and everyone always had something to do. The individual bedrooms and bathroom were so well decorated. The view from the upstairs was one of my favorite aspects, plus the view from the rooftop balcony. The kids absolutely loved the movie room, and the adults even got a few chances to use it. The pool and hot tub were a big hit. It was so nice to be so close to the beach. We felt we were ocean front, but only paid semi-ocean front price. Everyone had an amazing time. If I could state the only negative, it would be the numerous naked mermaids around the house that I thought were not necessary in a house that catered to families. We put a tanktop on the mermaid in the downstairs for the week. But I think that could be changed. Otherwise, we thought everything was amazing.

      Wow! What a great house...

      A great time was had by all. We came down two weeks after the hurricane, and were a little concerned about any damage, but we were reassured by Seaside that everything was fine, and it was, from great weather, to a great house. There were 14 in our group, and there was something for everyone, from the movie room to the game room, (with pool table, refrigerator, card table & a pack man video game), to the pool, and hot tube. The dinning room with the huge round table with fantastic views was great for everyone to gather for breakfast to dinner. There was everything you needed in the kitchen, from an ice cream maker to two milkshake mixers. All the bedrooms were very comfortable. One small complete is the bedroom furniture was to big for some of the rooms. The location was great, only steps to the boardwalk that takes you to the beach, and minuets away from shopping, and restaurants. We can't wait to come back and will definitely use Seaside Vacations to book our next OBX vacation!!

      Never a disappointment

      Summertime is one of those houses where you walk in and instantly feel at home. This is our fourth year in this home and I must say, it never fails to impress me. From the sweeping ocean views of the main living area and the crow's nest to the enjoyment and pure fun from the game and theater rooms. If you stand still for a moment in the house you are sure to hear laughter emanating from somewhere in this large home.
      It is in a perfect location. Far enough away from the bustle of Kitty Hawk and Nag's Head but close enough to all the shopping, food, and entertainment you want. The house itself is abutted by wild land where deer, foxes, and all manner of creature roam. It is mere yards from the roar and crashing waves of the atlantic.
      Summertime is a home where you will feel a sadness when you have to leave but leaves you with anticipation knowing you'll be back in a year!
      Summertime is a Seaside Vacations rental and let me just say their service is superb, top knotch, outstanding. Other companies should strive to be so thoughtful and respectful of their clients! Way to go Seaside!
      My family and I highly recommend this home to those seeking relaxation, good times, and great memories.

      The best vacation ever!!!

      We have stayed in many houses in OBX with various property managers and Seaside Vacations is 1st Class! From the day I called in Oct to inquire to the day I reserved for next year I knew that building lasting relationships and not just "customer service" was a priority! The house...Wow!!! It was perfect in every way. We had 5 very stressed families who take 1 vacation a year (if that) meet up at Summertime and boy, we were more than able to "leave our troubles at the bridge" We escaped into a magical world of beautiful ocean views, scenery, comfort and convenience; the perfect recipe for relaxation. Our stay was cut short by 2 days so I def recommend buying travel ins, but we took over 2000 pictures and every time we look back at them we can't help but smile. The whole group is looking forward to returning to Summertime together again next year. The decor is fun and interesting. This is the first home that we stayed in where we could tell that it was built/decorated from the heart and not just thrown together as a rental. Tank you to the owners of Summertime as well as everyone at Seaside Vacations for a dreamy vacation to remember!!!

      Perfect for Large Group!

      We loved the house! The location and view are outstanding. The house is oceanfront without the extra $$$. The undeveloped land beside us was so pretty and much nicer than looking at other houses! The grill was broken when we arrived, but management addressed it immediately. We were missing a king sized comforter, but they brought it the next day. The elevator worked sporadically throughout the visit. My husband called about it, but it was never really worked like we needed it to. The pool and hot tub were very nice. We were happy to find floating lounge chairs and little extras out there. There were many cigarette butts around the hot tub when we arrived, and I wish that would have been cleaned. Not all of the burners on the stove worked, but we got by with the ones that did. I would have liked the unit to have more bowls because there were only a few, and we were constantly washing them. It is priceless to have every bedroom having its own bathroom. The theater room was amazing! The kids were in heaven at night! A few of the chairs were broken and they all could use a good cleaning! Overall, this is the perfect getaway for a large group, and you cannot beat the price!

      Amazing, Beautiful home with Panoramic Ocean View! Wow!!

      We absolutely loved Summertime. It's such a beautiful home with the most amazing view you could possibly hope for when staying at the beach. Wait till you go up on the roof and sit and take it all in. The kitchen is fabulous and fully stocked with everything you need. Wait until you see the large round dining room table for everyone to gather. Just perfect!! All the beds were extremely comfortable and the house very clean. Seaside was extraordinairly helpful and responsive when calling. We had a large group and eveyone loved the home. The beach is very close to the house, with easy access. The house is located just a few miles from Harris Teeter and Food Lion for shopping. I hope to go back to Summertime again with our family when the babies are out of cribs. The bedroom is furniture is beautiful but massive and leaves little room for cribs in the same room. This house is meant to be enjoyed and loved and you'll hate to leave. The only complaint was that the top floor was very hot the last few days we were there with temperatures soaring over 100 degrees outside. I suspect all the big houses were having problems with cooling due to the heat. Don't hestitate to book this house. You won't regret it. It's perfect for your family and large groups. It's unique and very special!

      We had 18 ppl. with us for this vacation...10 kids (ages 7-16) and 8 adults. Lots to do in the house. But have minor complaints. First I called Seaside reality everyday(since they never returned my call) while we were there for them to bring over a new blender since while the house has some top of the line cooking tools, there was only a handless/broken protor silex blender. Very expensive furniture, decorations and over the top, but we loved that about the house. The movie room does get warm, highly recommend a fan for it. Beds were super comfortable! But the rooms are a little tight since the furniture is so big. The washing machine was moldy inside it & even after doing four bleach washes and scrubbing it out ourselves, the mold smell was always there.
      These are minor issues that didn't affect the over all experiance for us. We enjoyed the house & the experiance:)

      We had the best small family reunion ever in Summertime. It is a unique and beautiful home that is also relaxing and family oriented. The kids spent happy days and nights at the beach, in the pool and spa, and inside on the few grayer days. For the teenagers, the theater room was a veritable home.

      In Spring, we virtually had the beach to ourselves.

      We felt like millionaires for a week and would love to return to this gorgeous setting.

      We had great meals at the local restaurants, especially in nearby Duck!

      We were disapointed in the cleanliness of the cottage and the fact that many things were not updated. Furniture while beautiful was too large for the rooms and the couch was ripped, end tables glass all scratched up and rusted. Hot tub had missing pieces and rusting speakers that were broken. Pool table was covered in dog hair, the computer stand was covered in dust, bathrooms drains and levers were full of mold I cleaned them before taking a bath and scrubbed the floor, all of the tiles look like they needed a good cleaning. Had to clean the windows in the kitchen to see out of them. I could go on and on.

      Our version of the Real world for the week.

      There was 14 adults and one toddler staying for the week and never really felt like we were in each others way to often. Plenty of room and things to do around the house .Basically right on the beach without paying for the extra money because there is no house between you and the beach and lots of undeveloped land behind the house. We saw several deers, foxes and rabbits on the other side of the fence. having an elevator made life easier bringing food and baggage up to the third floor. They must have spent a fortune on all the furniture in this place, although some rooms felt a little crowded because of the large furniture. The movie room was good accept getting hot in there with the doors closed with a group but not bad if you put a fan in there to circulate air. The remote was easy to figure out the different devices when using dvd, xbox and tv. If any complaints it would be need better cues for playing pool because only one was good enough to use the others were missing tips. The pool and hot tub area seemed a little confined but in working order. The hot tub really only fit four adults. Needed another recycling bend because we filled the one very quickly. If you had people that have trouble climbing stairs they might have trouble going to the beach because of the walk way over the dunes to the beach was steep. Although the walk to the beach was as short as if you had a beach front house so that was good. I would highly recommend staying here, we came at the end of the season and knew this house was rented every week since mid april till our time the first week of October and everything was still working and in good condition. Great views from the third floor and roof top decks should have brought a telescope.

      Our family has been staying here for 3 years now and it has never disappointed us! It feels like home as soon as you walk through the door. We each have "our" rooms and as soon as our bags are thrown on our beds we rush to see the excellent view from the kitchen, then the crow's nest! This house easily accomodates our large family and we are not in eachother's hair throughout the week! The beach access is awesome and the lack of neighbors on one whole side make this home a must go-to! We truly have been spoiled by this home and really can't imagine ourselves anywhere else at the Outer Banks. Only a four star this year though, b/c the home was not as clean as it could have been.

      Spectacular home. . . needs a little TLC

      The Home was like a fun house!!! Everywhere you turn there was something interesting and cool! However, the home needs a little TLC. We tried to get someone out to fix a leaking aC condensation pipe that dripped over the front entrance and it was never fixed. Really needs some help around the pool and outdoor shower. The grass was growing into the pool and way too long. Asked for someone to come cut it but they never did, that was a little disappointing. Also, a new hose out front is a must. Otherwise, it was awesome. Had so much fun and really enjoyed staying there.

      The house, Sumnmertime, was wonderful - movie room, games, pool, hot tub, bedrooms and baths for all. I would suggest that the condensation leak hitting the front porch be re-routed,front bib hose be repaired, top floor made cooler. It is costly but for a big group, it was just right.

      Great house!! It was just the right size and the views were spectacular. Very quick walk to the beach which is a plus. We had 22 people staying there and it was certainly big enough. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing I would suggest would be to put cement around the pool area instead of grass.

      We Love Summertime in OBX !!

      This house was terrific !! We had plenty of room and enough bedrooms for everyone !! We traveled with 11 adults and 9 children !! The only thing I would change is add an ice machine, another set of washer & drier, and get rid of the grass !! It just made a mess of the pool !! The location is perfct...2 houses over from the walkway, however, the steps will give you a workout !! The Media room was a big hit with the kids and the PacMan machine was an even bigger hit with the adults !! It is also very close to shopping, wave running, mini golf & restaraunts..everything you need is just a short drive away!! We love summertime in OBX !!

      Wonderful family reunion

      The house surpassed our expectations. We had plenty of room for our family of 18. The house is spacious and very nicely appointed. We cooked most meals for the large group in the large kitchen. There were plenty of pots and pans and utensils, 6 burner stove and double oven. We spent many evenings up on the roof deck for a beautiful sunsets. The kids loved the movie theater room and pool table. We liked being just a few steps from the boardwalk to the beach.The farmdog surfing instructors through Seaside came right to our house to give us surfing lessons. They were great instructors. Thanks for a wonderful time. We will be back.

I THINK THAT I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IT IS ONE OF THE BEST HOMES WE HAVE STAYED IN IF NIOT THE BEST.I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO COMPLIMENT sEASIDE VACATION FOR THEIR HANDL;ING OF THE HOME AND THE FEW SITUATIONS THAT WE RAN INTO. tHE WEATHER COULD HAVE BEEN WARMER BUT HAT IS NOT ANYTHING THAT EITHER THE OWNERS OR THE REAL ESTATE AGENCY HAS ANY CONTROL OVER. i THINK THAT IT IS A SHAME THAT SOME OF THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE RENTED IN THE PAST DID NOT APPRECIATE THE BEAUTIFUL HOME AND TAKE BETTER CARE OF IT IN SOMRE WAYS. wE ARE GOING BACK AGAIN IN sEPTEMBER WITH THE REST OD OUR FAMILY AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT AND HOPING FOR WARMER WEATHER. THIS IS A HOME THAT THE OWNERS CERTAINLY SHOULD BE PROUD OF AND sEASIDE vACATIONS SHOULD FEEL HONORED TO HAVE THE PRIVEILIGE TO OFFER IT FOR RENT. wE WILL SEE YOU ALL IN SPETEMBER.

      Ready to do it again!

      Seaside Vacations provided excellent guidance in helping us to select a wonderful house which would accommodate 15 family members from 14 through 76 years old, and that fell within a very tight budget. The house was perfect for us, right on the beach with every amenity we could wish for. From the theater room, to the elevator, to the well appointed kitchen,we were very pleased. Each bedroom had a private bath and all were beautifully furnished. We felt like we had rented our own private hotel. If you were looking to improve the home, some of the furnishings, especially in the theater room showed signs of wear, and could be replaced, but after moving in we barely noticed. 95% of the house is in excellent condition, and everything is clean and comfortable. This was one of our best family vacations. We are ready to go back again!

      Really enjoyed the house. I really liked the lack of
      neighbors to the right of the beach. We had a wonderful time and want to book the house for the same week next year. Bring our family for Xmas..
      I do wish the Hot tub was more inviting though...
      We did not use it do to the low water level and broken top with a stinky smell. I did fill it hoping to help, but never used it.
      The stereo in the theater was SWEET! The master bed room bathroom was great with perfect amenities during our honey moon!....

      A great escape!

      Summertime is a great house. There is so much to do in the house you could spend all of your time inside, not that you would with everything else to do in Corolla.

      The theater was so much fun, we watched a movie every night.

      The kitchen was amazing, the view was great and little things like a milkshake machine and two dishwashers made it even better. The first night we tried to make some popcorn in the microwave and the center would not rotate. When I called the next morning they apologized for not telling us at check-in but that it had broken at the end of the previous week and the part was already on order.

      Each bed room has very large furniture and things a pretty tightly packed into them. The king sized beds are very firm, it took a day or two for me to get used to them. It is so nice for each of the rooms to have its own full bath. There are two water heaters and we never had an issue with running out of hot water.

      We found that Food Lion, which is just north of the house on 12, was a good bit cheaper than Harris Teeter. The end of September is a great time to go the the Outer Banks. It is not crowded and most of the stores are still open for the season. The ocean was still warm enough to enjoy everyday.

      We will be using Seaside Vacations for our next trip to the Outer Banks and would not hesitate to stay in Summertime again.

      We had a wonderful time in paradise

      Summertime was everything it was advertised to be and more. Our family consisting of my wife and myself, our three children and their spouses and our seven grandchildren (15 in all) loved Summertime. The owners should be proud of their place. The theater, the elevator and the pool were top attractions. With seven grand chilren you can imagine how much use we got out of the theater room with movies every afternoon at 5. The IBOX was great for the older kids and the young adults had spirited battles on the PacMan game. We were just a few yards from the board walk leading to the beach where we spent every morning (it helped that the weather was perfect) boogie boarding, building sand castles and just walking the beach. In the afternoons we spent most of the time in the pool at the side of the house. Quite frankly, we had so much fun there that we never went out. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and silverware that could have served an army. There were two dishwashers, a real plus for a family of 15, two trash bins and enough wine glasses to keep us all happy. The dining table was large enough to handle all of us. To top it off, after dinner some of us gravitated to the widows peak that sits above the kitchen area and is higher than all of the surrounding houses and looked out over the ocean as we relaxed with a glass of wine. The bed rooms were more than adaquate as well. What else can I say. We loved our stay.
      Finally, I would be remiss if I did not thank Seaside. As is the case with any large rental house, repair issues do come up and in every instance when we called Seaside they responded promptly to our problem. Thank you John for all that you did, particularily in getting the IBOX replaced when we discovered that it was broken.
      The only negative of the whole trip was getting there and back. The traffic was terrible particularly south of Washington DC and south of Norfolk, Va. It took us 11 1/2 hours to travel 390 miles on the second day. Jack Nichols

      Amazing House

      We had an awesome time in this house! It was by far the nicest house I have ever stayed as well. The interior of the house is just amazing and the location is second to none. Anyone looking to get away and live like a King should stay at this house. This was my third time to the Outer Banks and this house was by far the nicest.
