      The perfect vacation

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We enjoy vacationing in OBX, particularly staying in the Currituck Club. This year we rented the home Fore Sun Fun, a very well maintined and appointed home, additionally the location was ideal in the Currituck Club! Talk about convienent, the beach trolley stop was located right off next to the driveway, all you have to do is walk out the door and wait for the trolley and they take you to the beach!! A great selection of restaurants and activities are less than a five minute drive by car. The staff at Seaside is very professional and courteous which makes us continue to come back.

Loved the fact that the beach was only 10 min walk if we didnt feel like driving (the trolley wasnt an option for us because it was off season). Kids could walk to pool. Nice place to walk and ride bikes. Grocery store right at main entrance to park. Very quiet. Beautiful house.

Pets are allowed in this home. Wild horses roam the beach The pool (one of many) was clean and very close to the home Everyone loves palm trees The Fore Sun Fun The Fore Sun Fun

      Excellent family and relaxation time.

Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in September 2011

The property was great. We booked last minute after our avon home was unavailable due to Irene. The gated community gave a sense of peace to us. It was baby friendly with baby gates and there were toys and games for the older grandchild. Loved the decks, front and back with dining on the one in back.
Being right after Irene there was a problem with misquitoes. There was a lot of standing water and the misquitoes even bit through jeans and sweatshirts. We tried to walk, bike ride the fantastic trails, but had to give it up. We did not use the downstairs porch, which was fantastic, because of the misquitoes. This was beyond the control of anyone and at least we were safe on the upper decks.
The kitchen was stocked with lots of pans and plates, but oddest thing, there were no pot holders. Yes, we grilled a lot, but also used the oven.

The great room is GREAT! Plenty of room to relax. Beautiful

Thanks for taking time to offer your review of Fore Sun Fun #0370. Your feedback is very important to help us continually improve our homes and our services.

We are happy to know that you enjoyed your stay, despite the onslaught of mosquitos following Hurricane Irene. The county continues to carry out evening mosquito sprays throughout the Outer Banks. We are sorry they became such a menace.

Please let us know if we can help you plan your next trip to the Outer Banks.

      Great Vacation

Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Very nice house, great community, great amenities. Regarding the house, it was great, had everything we needed. The hot tub was great. It had very nice and comfortable furnishings. I would have to comment, however, on the game room which we were unable to use. It was a converted garage with no a/c. It was very hot and musty inside. There were, however, bicyles in the garage which were fun to use, a basketball, beach chairs and boogie boards.
We had a problem with ants in the kitchen but I guess that is expected at the beach. The community had great walking/bike trails and I especially liked the great exercise room (although some mornings it was very crowded with not enough machines). The location was great with the Harris Teeter right outside the front gate. Another great feature of the community was the trolley which picked up right across the street from the house. It was so convenient as well as having valets who carted your belongings to your "spot" on the beach.

      Great

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011

This was the first time we ever stayed at the Outer Banks. We all loved the house, except we had to call the realtor because of the tiny ants all over the kitchen counter. He brought ant traps but still had them. (Not as many) Did not want to keep any food on the counters because of it. Was also disappointed in the rec room. Turned out to be the garage, and had a funny odor to it. Other than those 2 things we liked the house.

      Great location, beautiful home/neighborhood!

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011

This was the first time in our 8 years of traveling to OBX that I would rent the same home again. The home was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The transit system to the beach, made things so easy! The kids enjoyed the pool table, and we had nightly wiffleball games in the circle. The only minor thing I would suggest, would be to add to the kitchen supplies. We had a great time, thank you for letting us enjoy your home!

Left on 08/18/2010 for a stay in August 2010

Everything was nice and clean and operating correctly...but the driveway could barely fit four cars and the "game room' was a ping pong table, pool table, and air hockey table in the garage with no air conditioning.
Next time, I think I might want something with a real game room for down time.

      Wonderful!!!

Left on 07/14/2010 for a stay in July 2010

We absolutely loved the location of this house!!! We were a 10 minute walk to the beach or we could catch the Trolley right in front of the house! The pool was a two minute walk and very nice!!! Shopping was a short drive away and the grocery store was very close by.
The house was plenty big and fully stocked with every dish, small appliance you could imagine. We have a family of 8 that we took and we never felt like we were cramped! All of the kids loved the house and the hot tub (ages range from 9-20). We will be back there again for sure!!!
We ran out of propane for the gas grill while we were there and the office manager came out herself and swapped the tanks out for us. A+++service

Fore Sun Fun is a great house!

Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009

Check in and check out were easy and fast! The house was the perfect size for our family of four. The hot tub was very big and in good working condition. The game room is a nice touch but the pool table is slanted and you cannot play a "real" game using it. There were two adult bikes, an older child's bike and a young (girl color) bike (no training wheels so bring your own if needed). Great neighborhood to bike/walk in. Nice playground, did not use the fitness center but a nice amenity. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes and utensils. The bed mattresses were a somewhat uncomfortable and the carpet is very worn. We enjoyed this house and would not hesitate to rent it again!!!

Left on 09/27/2009 for a stay in September 2009

The house was nice. The converted game room however, was not what was expected. The pool table was broken and it was not air conditioned. We had brought a fan that helped as it was humid. The family did enjoy the ping pong.

Left on 09/16/2009 for a stay in September 2009

The house was great and the service was very good, the weather just did not cooperate. We had issues with the gas tanks being empty and had to buy our own since it was after hours, waiting to get reimbursement for the tank. The jacuzzi in the the master bedroom sprayed brown water when turned on, could use a cleaning. Overall, the house was nicer than we expected from the pictures.

      Relaxing and Great Fun!

Left on 08/06/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Seaside Vacations gave us a wonderful vacation experience. We enjoyed the freedom to arrive later in the day knowing that they would have a package with the keys and information waiting for us.
The home "Fore Sun Fun" was perfect for us as it had something for everyone, bikes, a gameroom, hot tub and plenty of TV's. This home DOES have baby equipment although we were told they did not. Wish we would have known as it would have eased our travel load by quite a bit. There are museums, lighthouses, great local coffee shops,The lost colony, great fishing and best of all- the ocean and the local people.
I would recommend that every home have an information binder giving out technical information specific to the audio, visual, computer usage details, like how to run the cable TV, what channels to use for the dvd player, what the internet password is for that home etc... It wasted a lot of time trying to figure it out on each individual television. The location was awesome just steps from the pool and walking distance to the beach. However- we didn't HAVE to walk to the beach as they provide a trolley every 20 minutes or so to pick you up with helpers at the drop off point to help you carry items to your spot. We have never been taken care of so well. Also, take advantage of the the free wine tasting, surfing lessons, yoga classes and more. We travel pretty often and I would have to say that this has been our best family vacation so far.
Thank you very much Seaside Vacations! We will return as soon as we can.

First time in OBX and we thoroughly enjoyed it, but...

Left on 06/26/2009 for a stay in June 2009

As first time renters in Outer Banks, NC we were thoroughly impressed with the area and the friendly Southern hospitality that we encountered while renting through Seaside Vacations. The house was absolutely gorgeous, and it had all the necessary amenities when it came to cooking and grilling. The only issues that we had with the home however, was the poor water pressure in the showers, problems with the toilet in the master bath refilling with clean water, and the hot tub that was in the rear of the house staying on for longer then 20 minutes at a time before shutting off. Aside from that, this rental house was fabulous. We loved the fact that we were able to bring our family dog with us too!! It is in a gated community, with a grocery store (Harry Tweeter) not even 5 minutes away by car. The beach was a ten minute walk...or a few minutes by car. I will definitely rent again through Seaside Vacations, but we will probably pick another house to stay in.

Nice Home in golf course community

Left on 10/14/2008 for a stay in October 2008

The home was well maintained and in good condition. The decor was attractive and the landscaping in the golf course community was excellent. The house has good access to many nearby ammenities. The add indicated that the house has ample decking with sound views. However, you cannot see the sound from any of the decks. You would probably have to climb up to the roof of the house to see the Sound. The game room was a nice touch, but since it was in a converted garage it smelled rather musty. The pool table was very crooked, but I assume this could be easily corrected. I couldn't get the hot tub to work. I don't know if this is because the hot tub was broken or I just couldn't figure out how to operate. Instructions on how to use the various amenities in the house would be useful. The water in the house tastes, looks, and smells bad. This probably is just an issue of the source of the water (I am assuming a well), but it was pretty unappealing. Overall this wasn't a bad house, but with the number of properties available, I would choose something with a view of the ocean or sound and closer beach access next time.

      Fabulous home-Very relaxing and convenient

Left on 09/23/2008 for a stay in August 2008

We've been vacationing in Corolla for 5 years and this is by far our greatest year yet. The house is amazing! It was convenient to be so close to the pool, Harris Teeter grocery store, and Timbuck II shopping. Everything you need is located right within the Currituck Club! It was also awesome to have the trolley come pick us up and deliver us and our belongings to the beach and take us back to the house again. The porches are so wonderful for relaxation and reading and the views from them are amazingly peaceful. The game room was great for our two kids. We do however wish there was another full size bed or two instead of sooo many sets of bunk beds! Loved it though! Had a blast!
