The week I spent at Ocean's Deelight was great! My friends and I enjoyed a relaxing vacation in a wonderful home and neighborhood. I would recommend this home to anyone, and the next chance I get to vacation in the Outer Banks Ocean's Deelight will be my #1 go to source. The service received was outstanding. The first night on the property a light that lit up the jacuzzi area was out so I called the property manager. The very next morning someone showed up to change out the bulb for a new one.

We just got back from our vacation in this home. It was nice and clean upon our arrival - several updates had been made to the house i believe as there was hardwood floor all upstairs and in the hallway of the mid level with all the bedrooms. The kitchen is well equipped with many appliances - all that worked just fine. The air conditioning was never a problem the temp was great throughout the house throughout the week. we loved the pool and the hot tub and easy access to the beach. we had a small child with us who had an early bedtime and the rest of our group tended to be a bit noisy but we did notice at night when the group was in the game room in the basement and the door was closed it concealed the noise level well and our 2 year old was able to sleep well despite the activities. The home had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation and overall no complainants. Just a couple of suggestions for the future for the owner - maybe a swinging baby gate for the top of the stairs as opposed to the one available - we were concerned about our 2 year old falling down the stairs but the rest of our group complained about having to step over the gate and it was a bit difficult esp for shorter people or younger ones. and a new bed rail would be a nice addition for families traveling with toddlers as the one there we could not figure out - i believe there was a design flaw with the maker of it. we had a super family vacation and this was a lovely place to rest, relax, eat, and be together as a family.

Negs:Fridge doesn't work, carpets are gross, furniture is cheap and bunk beds broken, dead flies everywhere, dirt in every corner, air unit broke during our stay, towels are child size and wrapped in plastic bags, sheets are cheap and not comfortable.

I feel the house we stayed at was misrepresented and not at all what we expected. We were expecting a comfortable, clean, and to an extent impressive house close to the beach. What we got was a house that smelled very bad inside and out, had several features in disrepair, and beaches/amenities that were certainly not as close as advertised. Generally, the house was very unimpressive and prpobably unhealthy to stay in. The refrigerator didn't work, and thus we lost food because of spoilage. The air conditioning was erratic at best... sometimes it worked, sometimes the temperature got up to 80+. The bad odors smelled of garbage or decay. There was evidence of mold growth in one of the bathrooms. Also misrepresented was the golf course and fitness facilities that the house came with. These facilities were roughly a 45 minute drive from the house. I feel it's unreasonable to think a family would drive 45 minutes one way to utilize fitness facilities.
Overall, the experience was tolerable because of being together as a family. The facilities were well below all of our expectations and I am very unlikely to trust recommendations from Seaside Vacations in the future.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 08/21/2011

This was a very nice house with plenty of bedrooms and amentities. We loved the pool and hot tub. All the bedrooms were a good size. When we had questions the rental office could not answer, the owners were more than willing to help out. The neighborhood was very nice and its a short walk to the beach.

We have just returned from a very successful week in the Outerbanks, with my family from New Jersey, Scotland and Ireland. It was a great first experience of North Carolina for us all. Ocean's Deelight was perfect for the four families and it was spotless and spacious, without being too luxurious so we could relax with the 10 kids ranging in ages from 3 months - 14 years. The kitchen was great for all our family meals, and we loved how close the property was to the large supermarket. The pool was small but we found it ideal for the kids. We enjoyed how close the property was to the beach, and it was great that all things for the beach were provided in the house. Our only complaint was that much to the
kids' disappointment, the pool guy came early on Saturday morning so their last swim was interrupted. We are already talking about a return visit to the Outerbanks and we would recommend Ocean's Deelight.
