What Past Guests Are Saying
We are a family of 5 and were very pleased with our stay at Lighthouse Landing. It was a perfect size for our group... nicely decorated and conveniently located. It was a nice and easy .9 mile bike ride on the path to the ocean pools even for our youngest child. There is plenty to do in Corolla as well. Ocean Blue was easy to work with as well.

A great vacation
Situated smack in the middle of the ocean and sound (both just a few yards away in opposite directions). Not far from the state park where you can drive your 4-wheeler on the beach. Fantastic ocean beaches and all kinds of water activities on the sound. I was searching for a place where I could bring my dog - all of my family and friends kept thanking me for finding such a nice place. I told them to thank Copper, my dog!!
Not my typical OBB experience
Tim, I have rented from you twice and find your company outstanding!!!! I have a few issues here:
1) The place was a little dirty...no big deal but you asked.
2) I tried to rent a place from you about 7 days prior for 3 nights. I guess we are playing a game of chicken but I realize you are dividing a 7 night rental by 5 nights to gain more dollars for both the renter and yourself...my question is "At what point in time can I possibly get a last minute rental and not be subject to the "upcharge" of using 5 days instead of 7?" I have no problem paying for cleaning, etc. but gee whiz...I was down for my mother's birthday and wanted to stay for an extra few days and I have to figure at SOME POINT you guys would be ok with some rental income vs. trying to get us for a number of days divided by 5 vs. 7.
I hope my family and I can come next year and would like to use you but can you give us some help if we want to stay a few extra days (even if we had to change places...you have done it for me before).
Thanks for everything you do...Steve Barczy

Thanks for your review on this property. We do have a select few homes in our rental program that allow "mini vacations" or "partial week rentals." The rate that is charged on those properties amounts to the weekly rate divided by 5 to get a nightly rate. We and the homeowners look at the situation in another way...instead of "upcharging" on a nightly rate, what is actually happening is that those folks that stay for a full week are getting a discount. Rent five nights, and get two nights free. This is a fairly common practice in the accommodations industry. For instance the rate at a hotel is typically quoted on a higher nightly rate for one or two nights than it would be if you were staying 4 or 5 nights.
As for the owner accepting something rather than nothing I do hear you on that, but many owners look at a partial week rental as a detriment in that the expenses involved with preparing the property and cleaning it (owners pay for the cleaning, and the sheets and towels in our rental program not the guests) and deciding that a few hundred dollars is simply not worth the effort.
We do look forward to serving you again in the future.
All the best from the beach!
Nice area but the condo needs some improvements
We enjoyed our stay in Corolla. The condo was centrally located and had plenty of room for our entire family. We enjoyed the indoor fitness center across the street and trolley system that took us to the pools near the ocean. However, the bed in the master bedroom needs to be replaced and it would be more appealing to have a king size mattress. The carpet throughout the condo was dirty and worn. Hardwood floors or ceramic tile would be a better solution to the wear and tear of the beach.

Mike and Cindy,
Sorry we missed the mark on this one. At least I can report that we got the carpets cleaned so that should no longer be an issue.
Thanks for posting your review!
All the best from the beach!
We loved everything about Corolla Light - so much to do, well kept and convenient. The condo was in a good location. Unfortunately, it was not maintain as well as we would like. The rugs desperately need cleaning - our feet were black. As always we had great service from Outer Banks Blue!
