Located on a quiet cul-de-sac with easy access to bike paths, community pool, playground, and tennis facilities. This home is located rather close to the beach, approximately 1800 feet to beach access.

  The house was very nice, but there were a few minor repairs that should be done...The counter laminate in kitchen needs to be glued, catches on things when you are working, the deck needs to be stained, there was water damage in the bedroom by the door, some slats on the window treatments needed to be replaced in the living room, the outdoor shower area needed a good sweeping and hosing down, the upstairs aC was having trouble keeping up, but could have been because it was 95 degrees for the first few days we were there, we called maint. and they were there within 1 hour with 2 portable units that made a big difference, The master bedroom backups to busy RT 12, so you can hear the cars going by...However, again these were minor things...The rest of the house was great, good layout for families with kids, but 28 steps from driveway to kitchen, so keep that in mind if you are traveling with older folks or handicapped. We loved the pool, clubhouse, dock, and the house is located close to all so you can walk to them if you like. The house is 2-4 beach blocks from lovely beach, easy bike ride or walk,(have to cross RT 12) or great parking 1 block away. No charge for parking or going on the beach which was nice, and lifeguard right there! Nice, clean beach and water. Food Lion, coffee shops, beach shops easy bike ride or very close by car. Corolla very nice place, not so congested like Kitty Hawk. The traffic in on Sat. pm awful, plan on coming in late (like after 8 pm) or doing a Sunday to Sunday rental. Going out Sat. am we left at 6 am and traffic was steady but not stopped. We will be back for sure. We really like the Monteray Shores complex, hopefully we can rent this house again or one of the houses directly on the sound next year! Again, the things listed were minor, it is a lovely house, that just needed a little TLC which might be because it was close to the end of a busy season. We will be back to Outer Banks for sure. Ps Kitchen very well stocked with pots etc.

  problem with dishwasher leaking and the bathroom throw rugs which could be washed were pretty dirty, other than that we loved the location in Monterey Shores
