Your Home away from Home

This property is situated in the center of Corozal Town in a very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood within walking distance from the main square, financial institutions, churches and local stores and a couple feet from the Caribbean Sea.

It is owned jointly by Oscar Riveroll, a retired corporate executive and his sister Elda Mackay, and was built in 1978. This villa is furnished with fine antique furniture from local woods and with antique furniture imported from Jamaica by his sister who resided in various great houses in Jamaica. Oscar is also an avid gardener spec...ializing in local and imported orchids. Most of these orchids bloom continuously during the year. The gardens are planted with a wide variety of local tropical plants and fruit trees giving the surroundings a blaze of colour and charm. Various birds and butterflies are constant visitors to our gardens.

The Villa Studio Apartment is a fully furnished apartment on the first floor of the main building. The living room is tastefully decorated with antique rattan furniture dating back to the early 1900 and various mahogany antique pieces. The kitchen is fully equipped for your comfort. A wooden deck is in the planning and should be completed in the very near future. Various art objects and paintings, are displayed for the enjoyment of its occupants and can be viewed at the family home.

This apartment has full access to the gardens and its surroundings and guests are welcome to enjoy the outdoor facilities of the Villa.. We will be happy to have guests visit us in the main building. Our motto is to make you feel at home.

Additional Location Information

The property is located a couple feet from the Caribbean Sea. The town is protected by a bay where one of the Mayan Ruins of Cerros is situated and can be seen from the upper apartment. The earley morning surnrises and sunsets can also be appreciated from the upper studio apartment. The main house where the complex is situated is within walking distance from the town square, financial institutions,churches and the local museum.

  I rented an apartment from Oscar and his sister Elda for the month of February 2013, I arrived here 3 weeks ago. Oscar is an incredible host, he picked me up at the municipal airport in Corozal, showed me all the best places to shop, and he is always sincerely concerned about my experience during my stay. The villa is just a few blocks away from the town square (downtown) and all the shopping, yet the peaceful surroundings of the villa's gardens, fruit trees, and exotic birds doesn't feel like downtown living. It's the best of both worlds, the convenience of being close to shopping, while experiencing the natural exotic climate of Beautiful Belize. Villa Imperial is a wonderful environment of beauty and tranquility. Oscar and Elda are the hosts with the most; they are very helpful in providing invaluable information to help you get around. This is a very safe and peaceful place; I would recommend it to anyone looking to experience this beautiful country.
  
  The way of doing business here is a bit different than what most Westerners and Europeans are used to, credit cards are not widely used by local businesses in Corozal. Canadian and american bank accounts are easily accessible through the Cirrus network using your Debit card at local atm's. I met Oscar through a mutual acquaintance while booking another location, which is why I was able to trust him enough to send him the deposit to reserve the apartment. It worked out great and there were no surprises.
  
  The apartment can be compared to a luxury suite. The mattress is of very high quality, firm and comfortable. The furniture and decorations have very strong Spanish undertones, this makes for a richer local experience than you would get from a typical american style resort location. Oscar and Elda have made a huge effort to ensure that I am comfortable. I highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking to relax in a safe inviting environment. Belize is beautiful :-)
