Villa La Pergola is an authentic private villa in Tuscany, very close to the Etruscan town of Cortona. La Pergola is situated in a cosy village consisting of two other villas each with private swimming pool. The patio, decorated with elegant garden furniture, has a scenic view over the well-manicured garden with pool and private parking. Left on 11/10/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Stayed one week 3rd week of october. Weather was good all week, but cool at night. We used nice fireplace for heat in the mornings and evenings (chose not to turn on optional-cost heating). We used 3 bedrooms, each with its own separate bath and all were nice. Kitchen is small but ok. Dining area beside fireplace is country table - good atmosphere for family gathering. We used the place mainly as a base for day trips and it well located for that (cortona, siena, san gianmano (sp?), florence etc. What I like most was the beautiful setting. The house sits in an olive grove and had small patches of grapes to one side. House is 150 yards off a paved road and is about 1.5 miles (guess) from Monte Savino a small town typical of the area (wall around it, lots of ancient stuff, warren of streets). Net, net, we were happy with our rental and would recommend this to others.
