Two Bedroom Split Level Apartment Cortona

Poseidon is a characteristic split level apartment in a beautiful stone house on the L?Etrusca estate, ideally situated in the valley below the famous town of Cortona. The house is surrounded by immaculately kept gardens where there are tables and chairs for dining al fresco and there is a lovely swimming pool with a paved sun terrace bordered by lawns and olive groves.

The l?Etursca estate consists of 2 beautiful stone houses which have been lovingly restored and now form 4 spacious apartments. The houses are set around a beautiful garden with lawns and filled with flowers, where each... apartment has an area with table and chairs for dining al fresco and nestled next to the olive grove in a secluded position is the pretty swimming pool (14m x 7m).

Apartment Poseidon is situated in the main farmhouse, and is on two floors. It is comfortably furnished in typical Tuscan style and original features such as beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls have been retained. On the ground floor is a pretty kitchen area with a lovely fireplace and dining table and chairs, which is separated by an archway from the sitting room which has a settee (which converts to a double bed on request to accommodate an extra 2 persons), there is also a shower/w.c. Steps lead to the first floor where there are two comfortable bedrooms and a further shower room. The thoughtful owner has added the modern comforts of dishwashers, washing machines and satellite televisions.

Its location is perfect for visiting the famous region of Southern Tuscany. Beautiful Cortona with its interesting Etruscan origins is only 5km away and a joy to explore, whilst the towns of Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese are both close by. In addition, Arezzo, infamous for its Piero della Francesca frescoes and Siena with its shell shaped Piazza del Campo square are both less than an hours? drive.

The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi are also within easy driving distance. Lake Trasimeno is also very close and has beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its islands, one of which is a natural park with lovely walks and the other ?Isola Maggiore? which is famous for the local women who crochet lace on the streets.The main motorway link is only 10km away, making also Rome and Florence easily accessible. Parking is in the grounds of the estate

  We stayed here for one week, while exploring historic towns of Tuscany.
  Location is great, city of Cortona only 10 min drive away. Also well equipped supermarket can be found on route to Cortona, offering great breakfast and dinner materials for self cooking travellers.
  Place is easy to find, and close to main highways. Premium outlets only 20minutes away.
  Owner Simone, is kind and helpful. Appartment was clean and functional. Every window equipped with mosquito net, providing bug free sleep :)
  Pool is big and deep enough, offering great resting from town visits.
  Recommending this appartment for anyone who likes to visit Tuscany and Umbria.
