Very nice...but long way to go for customer service
Arrived in September...the old farmhouse accommodations are beautiful, area is stunning.
When we arrived the apartment hadn't been cleaned yet (arrived around 4:00pm) manager was still waiting for cleaning staff to arrive so he took us to town and showed us where to get our groceries while we waited. This was very nice of him. He told us when we got back if the apartment wasn't ready yet we could wait by the pool area, which we did. We waited until 7:00pm and he was just arriving with the cleaning staff at that time to start cleaning. He took us on a quick tour, of which we could have done without as we were walking in on someone elses mess. He had us go through our deposit etc. and gave us free wi fi for our trouble (which wasn't working the first couple of days) and mentioned he would waive the cleaning fee. When it did come time to leave we had to wait until after 10:00 pm the night before leaving for him to return our deposit and when he did he deducted the cleaning fee. To say the least very upset.
Having come from Praiano from a one week visit there we had expected accommdations to be up to the same standards but this was not the case. The kitchen was very badly equipped and as far as cleanliness I don't think having a couple of ladies in for a hour to completely clean a two storey apartment is sufficient!!!
The area however around Cortona is stunning for that I would return but rent elsewhere.

As you will have imagined, the cleaning ladies run into trouble on the day of your check-in, which caused unanticipated inconveniences, for which the owners apologize.
What I am surprised to hear, though, is that the owners had promised not to charge the cleaning fee and instead they did. We are investigating this matter, and I only wish I had known before. As basic quality procedure, we ask all of our guests to provide feedback about that stay and at that time this was not mentioned, I am only learning it now.
I would like to encourage all of our guests to count on us in such rare occasions. You have our staff at your disposal: I understand that you might not really care about smallish amounts, but since we are here for the very reason of ensuring that everything runs smoothly, please do let us know -- a simple email message will suffice (or just ask the owners to call us at check-out, and we will deal with the matter for you).
UPDATE: We contacted the owner, as promised, and you can't imagine how sorry he was when he remembered that yes, he had promised he would had waived the cleaning fee! He had totally forgot about that at check-out, and he apologized deeply for that. The cleaning fee has now be returned to your credit card. Once more I would like to encourage all of our guests to contact our staff and make us aware of any trouble, so that we can provide the highest level of service, which you expect and deserve.
