Portovecchio T is a lovely apartment on the ground floor of a characteristic farmhouse on a pretty estate situated in the valley below the famous town of Cortona. The apartment opens onto its? own patio area with sunshade and table and chairs and in a sunny position in the grounds is a lovely swimming pool, the ideal spot for soaking up the sun and taking a cooling dip. There is a barbeque for guests use and covered outside area with table and chairs for relaxing and dining al fresco.

The Portovecchio estate, dating back to the 13th Century, has been lovingly restored and now forms f...ive lovely apartments set in pretty grounds and surrounded by unspoilt countryside and views of swaying wheat fields. The lovely town of Cortona, which can be glimpsed on the hillside above is just ten minutes drive away and a joy to explore.

Apartment Portovecchio T is situated on the ground floor of the farmhouse and is comfortably furnished in typical Tuscan style with characteristic beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. It consists of a living room with dining table and chairs, fireplace and settee and kitchenette which leads to a little sitting room with settee (which converts to a single bed on request to accommodate an extra person). There are two lovely double bedrooms, a shower room and a washroom with w.c, basin and washing machine. The apartment opens out onto its own patio furnished with sunshade and table and chairs for dining al fresco. There is plenty more space for relaxing or dining outside under the communal covered area close to the farmhouse which also has tables and chairs as well as a built in barbeque for guests use. A few steps away in a sunny position in the grounds is a pretty swimming pool (12m x 5m). with views over the surrounding countryside. Parking is in the grounds of the estate and an internet key is available on request

The location is perfect for visiting the famous region of Southern Tuscany. Beautiful Cortona with its interesting Etruscan origins is only 5km away and a joy to explore, whilst the towns of Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese are both close by. In addition, Arezzo, infamous for its Piero della Francesca frescoes in its cathedral and Siena with its shell shaped Piazza del Campo square are both less than an hours? drive.

The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few are also within easy driving distance. Lake Trasimeno is also very close and an interesting place to visit, it has beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its islands, one a nature park with lovely walks and the other ?Isola Maggiore? famous for the local women who crochet lace on the streets. Main road links are only 10km away, making also Rome and Florence easily accessible.
