Costa Dorada is situated in the province of Tarragona in Spain, between Cunit and Alcanar on the Mediterranean Sea. The area is best known for its beautiful beaches and its theme park, PortAventura, which is nestled between the towns of Vilaseca and Salou, near Tarragona, all of which can easily be accessed by bus from the city centre. About 115 km South of Barcelona lies the historical city and capital of the province, Tarragona . What was once a Roman city is now home to many must-see sites including the ancient ruins, a second century amphitheater, and the Aqüeducte de les Ferreres. The town is about an hour's train ride outside of Barcelona city and offers a spectacular vacation destination for those looking for a quieter feel while staying in close proximity to the Catalan capital.
