GuildfordGreat value, nice location.

This is a lovely cottage, in a good location. It is comfortable and quite well equipped, but best of all very clean! The rental prices are very competetive too.
My one observation, and what stops me giving five starts is there are some parts of the accomodation that could probably do with updating now, such as new sofa, kitchen table, some of the utensils, perhaps the matresses too. A nice new flatscreen tv with some sort of satellite package would also top this off nicely and really make this a perfect stay!

BicesterA fantastic cottage in a special part of the country
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed in early July 2012. We'd highly recommend it and would happily visit again. The property is of a very high quality and larger than we expected from the pictures. There is a great view from the back patio and despite the July 2012 weather we had a couple of evenings sat out there. The location is very central for lots of walking, pubbing and sightseeing excursions. Nothing seemed more than about 20 mins away. An unexpected highlight was the Slimbridge wetland centre only 5 or 6 miles away.

We have spent the last two Christmases at The Barn. This is a very comfortable cottage with lots of room and very well furnished. Five of us have stayed and I have cooked a full Christmas lunch for 7. The reception from Fleur was friendly and pleasant. If you are visiting the area on holiday this would be a good base for Gloucester and the Cotwolds

Left on 07/13/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Stayed for a week in early March 2012. Had a super week in the Barn. The Barn is lovely, has everything you need for a great stay. Only had to bother Fleur once - she was really helpful. Location is very good with plenty of scope for long and short walks. The Barn had everything we needed, was lovely and warm - we could not have stayed anywhere better in the area. It is highly recommended. We visited North and South Cotswolds, Bristol (Clifton) and Bath and did a long walk close to the River Severn. We had Snoop with us, our friend's dog - he also loved it.

DevonWell equipped & comfortable.
Left on 10/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011
The Barn was ideal for our 4 night stay with dog and 3 year old. At first arrival we were a little alarmed at the close proximity of the owner's house but, once inside, that ceased to be an issie and we felyt very private. The kingsize bed (6feet) was a real bonus and we all enjoyed the enclosed garden in the unusually fine weather. Eating in the (well equipped) kitchen was comfortable and the bathroom as good as we've come across. If I were to be picky (this is a review, after all) I have a personal dislike of the pervasive smells of standard cleaning materials but, hey, that's better than no cleaning ! We'd be very happy to stay again. Thanks Fleur.

Left on 10/08/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We found The Barn in 2009 and had a wonderful holiday so had no hesitation in booking another week there for this year's holiday. The Barn is so ideally placed for visiting most parts of the Cotswolds and we were out every day, coming 'home' to relax for the evenings. As we still haven't covered everything after 2 visits we will most definitely be booking again sometime in the future. Fleur is very welcoming and has thought of everything you could possibly need during your stay. The Barn was spotless and well equipped, and the views are amazing. Already recommended to friends and family.

We really enjoyed out stay. We had plenty of room for 4 people. The owners were so very helpful with what was in the area and how to get there. The home was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The house was fully equipped and had very comfortable beds. A big grocery store was just up and around the bend. We would love to come stay there again.

Bradford, West YorkshireA Great Place to Stay
Left on 10/05/2011 for a stay in September 2011
This was one of the best rentals I've ever had. There were six of us staying and everyone agreed that the facilities and location at The Barn were first class. Beds were clean and comfortable, kitchen facilities were excellent and the living area was also comfortable and well stocked with information to help make our holiday enjoyable. The location is spot on too, with various attractions ranging from Slimbridge Wetland Centre to the lovely city of Bath within easy reach.
All in all highly recommended/ -

Left on 03/13/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Great house - that is sparkling clean and super comfy. Beautiful views. We did a lot of day trips from "The Barn" and it was a cozy return to home every evening. Please note that the barn is squeezed into a residential area ...not out in a field as we anticipated. Regardless - it was a perfect place to stay. Highly recommended!

This was a wonderful place to stay. We had my parents with us from australia and they wanted a Cotswold Cottage experience - The Barn was perfect. The cottage itself was in wonderful condition and even had a Christmas tree! The owners had thought of everything and were even able to accommodate our dog.

'The Barn' was a great place to stay -- spacious, comfortable, private and clean. The kids enjoyed the wi-fi access and we enjoyed the range of books including loads of tourist information...the second toilet was a bonus too!
Attractive house in a good spot, and the weather was fantastic too. -

This was the first time I had been back to England in 20 years. I grew up there and I was finally able to share my childhood with my wife and children. It was an amazing vacation and our week at the Barn was incredible. My girls loved the cottage and my wife and I enjoyed the easy drive of day trips to several areas of interest, such as Bath and Stonehenge. Our only disappointment was we couldn't walk to the pub down in the village because it had closed. But we found a wonderful pub just a short drive away in the next village. We would highly recommend this cottage. We would have liked to stay longer than just a week. I guess that means another trip in the future!

We were very impressed by this holiday let. The website is exceptional, providing not only detailed information on the cottage but also details of the area. The booking process was extremely efficient with prompt responses to emails, the detailed directions to get to the Barn which are provided as a matter of course are extremely detailed. The Barn is exceptional, everything from rooms, to furnishings, to appliances to cleanliness is to the highest standard and the owners are clearly determined to provide the best possible service, hence the 5 star rating. Well done Fleur.

The host of The Barn, Fleur, was very helpful and welcoming. It is a great property in a lovely location - well equipped with all you could ever need on a holiday break. Lovely grassed in yard for kids to play in and outdoor eating area as well as heaps of room for a family inside.
Close to many attractions for families including Cotswold Farm Park and Bourton on the Water. Supermarkets and parks a short drive away with a small village a short walk away for basics.
Only issue was a very minor one which Fleur had already alerted us to - the windows upstairs were at a child's height but were fitted with locks so there was no safety issue. Only other suggestion would be child gates on the stairs.

The service I received throughout my stay, as well as before and after was excellent. We were particularly grateful for Fleur and Jason being prepared to postpone our stay which had to be cancelled because of the snow. All emails were answered propmptly as were all queries before our visit. Directions to The Barn were clear and helpful. Not one of our visitors lost their way. The Barn is attractive, warm and comfortable and very well appointed. We all appreciated the bathroom - both the bath and shower were good. The Barn is on a bus route to Stroud surrounded by interesting country walks. All amenities are within walking distance. We enjoyed the magnificent view from the Barn as well as all the pictures in the house and the comfortable beds! We felt very welcome when we arrived and we were assured help was always at hand if needed throughout our visit.
