orlando, flPerfect space for extended family
Left on 05/30/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We spent a long weekend at the Oaks at Wasatch #5. Our daughter was getting married and we wanted a place where our extended family could stay together. This condo (so large we renamed it the mondo-condo) was perfect. There is a main floor bedroom which was great for my mother-in-law and her husband (there is a set of steps to get to the main floor from outside or the garage, this is not a handicap accessible place). Upstairs there was plenty of room. The upstairs master was great, there was another bed/bath for my sister-in-law and the third room has bunk beds which was a huge hit with my three young kids and their cousin. All of the bedrooms have their own bath which was great. I imagine if you're traveling with friends this is even more important. The kitchen is large and well-stocked with appliances and gadgets. The stove is a bit strange, it took some time to figure it out (a manual would be helpful). The dining room table is really large and there are bar stools at the large island, it was nice for all of us (9 to 11 depending on the day) to sit and eat together.
We sent the kids to the basement to play and watch TV. The condo description said there's a Playstation, but if there was we couldn't find it. Not a big deal, we weren't there to play video games. They loved the hot tub in the back, it was clean and in great condition.
The booking process was really easy, the management company quickly answered any questions I had, and everything was easily handled through a phone call and some emails.
More pros: the linens and pillows are amazing. So, so comfortable. Everything was spotless when we got there. The appliances are updated, there's a great laundry room, complete with ironing board and iron. There's a nice park in walking distance. It has a playground, walking path and tennis courts. There's a grocery store (Smith's) really close by.
Cons (there are a few, but not enough to take away a star): Parking could be an issue. It says there's room for three cars and that's true. You can get one in the garage, and the two in the driveway squeeze in super tight. If you have more cars than that the unlucky owner will have to trek a ways to get to the condo. This didn't affect us, but it may be something to consider. The toilets are small (made for Lilliputians, I think). The hot water heater is set somewhere between scalding and burn your skin off. If you have small kids you'll want to take care with that. Finally, my GPS didn't like the area. At all. My sister-in-law had the same issue, but my husband and mother-in-law had better luck. Part of the problem may be that some of the roads are one number going east and another going west. You'll get an email from the owner telling you to bring the directions they give you. Do it.
All-in-all it was a great stay. We'd love to stay there again. -

Very happy with our stay at Wasatch Oaks #5. Didn't expect to share garage space with an already parked car though. Also, would have liked to know why the Hot tub was not usable after 10 p.m. Other than that, the rooms were fabulous, the kitchen was more than adequate and we really enjoyed the proximity to the little park by the fire station.

We were in Utah for a family reunion and found this well-appointed, clean and comfortable townhouse perfect for two families and the grandparents. The rental was very clean, roomy and in great condition (only small complaint would be that the carpets were stained in some areas), with clean and comfortable bedding, new and comfortable furnishings of very nice quality throughout...it was decorated very tastefully. I am quite picky about where we stay and felt very comfortable here and happy about how clean it was. The kitchen was perfect...very roomy, clean and well-appointed, making it perfect for us to save money and eat meals there. Our kids had plenty of room to play with their cousins and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. There are enough beds, sleeping spaces, seating, televisions and bathrooms for a large group. The parking was a little tight for the two minivans our families had, but it worked out fine. The area is beautiful and scenic, so we did not mind the drive between the townhouse, Salt Lake and Provo areas (where our family reunion functions were held). Everything was ready for us when we got there, check-in and check-out was uneventful and easy...great service making the reservation and never had any issues we had to report. This was our first vacation rental home experience and since it was so positive, we would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

Our group really enjoyed this well-equipped unit. Plenty of cooking utensils, a new gas grill, and ample seating for a group of 8 guys made this a very comfortable place in which to relax.

Nine of us (five adults, two teens, two children) spent four nights very comfortably in this condo. The condo is located between the canyons just off Wasatch, and provides great access to both Little Cottonwood and Big Cottonwood canyons, while also convenient to grocery, restaurants and suburban life. Clean, comfortably appointed.

We rented a 4/5 bedroom condo for Memorial Day Weekend with another
family and found it exceeded our expectations. The unit was spotless and the
customer service was superb. The kitchen had everything we needed to
prepare our meals together and the 9 kids we brought had no shortage of
space to have fun. We liked the location. When we did have an issue with our
wireless connection, it was solved by the end of the day. When we went to use
the gas grill and it was out of propane, within a half an hour someone was at
our door with a new tank.
We are planning to travel to Salt Lake again in the future and we WILL stay in a
Utah Vacation Home. We've already recommended it to family and friends. -

This was a great rental unit! We had 12 people (6 Adults, 6 Kids) The room layouts fit us perfectly. Living room was set slightly away from the kitchen area so kids can play and not "disturb" the adults chatting in kitchen. Very spacious and clean condo. Wonderful that every bedroom had their own full bath and enough hot water! Garage was large but we were only able to get one car in, the others were too tall (SUVs).
I would highly recommend this condo and would return again.Response from Utah Vacation Homes - 01/30/2009
