Description from the owner
The Bridge House is in Fanore (a small town on the coast road between Doolin and Ballyvaughan). This house is in a remarkable location with the Aran Islands in front of you and the Burren behind. Virtually every window has a postcard view. And although the views are spectacular, the inside of the house has its own charm. The moment you step in the front door, you will feel like you are home. Maybe that's why we have so many people come back year after year. Or maybe it's the truly wonderful friends we have in the area who make you feel more like family than a visitor.

Additional Location Information
Fanore is a small town on the edge of the Burren (which means "great rock" in Irish). It's on the coast road between Ballyvaughan and Doolin. As you're driving in and out of town from Doolin, you'll see these enormous flat rocks (as well as the Cliffs of Moher in the distance). These spectacular rocks become even more sculptural in the rain (which will undoubtedly happen at least once while you're visiting). Not only is the Burren landscape captivating, you can also see Galway Bay, the Aran Islands and Cannemara from anywhere in town (and from every room in the house).
There is a small pub, a shop and a restaurant in the middle of town. O'Donohue's Pub serves fabulous food May - September. But, if you're there off season, they'll always pull together something for you to eat and you'll always get a perfectly pulled Guinness. Or choose from the extensive Whiskey selection.
For those of you who wish to leave the house (and even Fanore) you will find abundant entertainment. For the golfers in your group there is a world-class golf course just a few towns over in Lahinch. Also in Lahinch you will find some of the country's best surfing. (And, although Fanore is not yet reknowned for its surfing, the surf is awesome and there is a surf school every summer.) For those of you music lovers, Doolin is just one town over and is renowned for its traditional Irish music in addition to many incredible restaurants. And for a longer excursion, Galway is an hour away. There you will find great shopping, dining and people watching. And they have a wonderful Farmer's market every weekend.
But for those who just wish to explore Fanore, you will find amazing scenic walks and some of the best angling in the country. There is a gorgeous sand beach just down the road. Fanore is just a magical place that you have to visit.

The magical cottage in the Burren!
My family spent a week at the "Bridge House" in Fanore last year (2012) at the end of June. There were 8 of us and my cousin rented the house next door so all together there were 12. We called this house our "little bit of heaven." The accommodations were wonderful and with 6 adults and 2 adolescent children we never felted crowded or cramped. The area has breathtaking views and the location was perfect to make short trips to other spots in Ireland. Whenever our family gathers and talks about Ireland we always say this was"the best vacation ever". There was not anything we did not like. We all hope that we can return to the "Bridge House" again some day.
Gorgeous Fanore house, full of charm inside and out, and very co
We stayed at the Bridge house for the month of March, 2013 and were so sad to leave. It's a wonderful house and we would highly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring the stunning west coast of Ireland. The interior of the house is extremely charming and artfully done with great furniture and a beautiful color scheme. It's exceptionally comfortable with a great main room to lounge around in and views out the back windows that take your breath away. Really magical. Once you step outside, the attention to detail is just as refined. The landscaping is heavenly and incorporates interesting stone work into the naturalistic arrangements of plants. We often would spend the whole day in and around the house, soaking in the atmosphere with no thought of being anywhere else. We can't wait to return.
Fantastic in Fanore! You won't be disappointed.
Loved this house in Fanore...writing this review and looking at the picture brings back such great memories. My family of 5( 2adults,3 kids) plus my mother, brother and 2 kids stayed here for 5 days last august. We had 5 beautiful days...the weather was glorious. The location is so wonderful, with the atlantic out front and the mountains in the back. The lovely, expansive beach is a 1-2 minute drive from the house. There are hiking trails up the mountains behind the house that afford amazing views. We did a 3 hour hike one morning that was so peaceful, hard to describe the quiet, unspoiled beauty. It was great to be able to stroll 3-5 minutes on a quiet country road( safe for children) to the grocery shop/post office, pub/restaurant and a finer Italian eatery. The house was spacious enough for our group of 9, comfortable, nicely decorated, with views from every window. The gardens are well maintained with pretty flowers and shrubs.Again, the location is fantastic...scenic drives all around, Cliffs of Moher within 20 minutes( the ferry ride out to the Cliffs was a highlight of our trip), lots to see and do in the area. Great spot for day trips.
The owners were easy to work with, the caretakers were available when needed. The only negative is the need to stagger showers a little when you have a bigger group but that was very manageable.
We highly recommend the Bridge House to all, wish we could have stayed longer and definitely want to return. You'll love it too!!

Fantastic Ireland Vacation House
This place is right on the sea in a tiny charming town only a few minutes away from Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and Lahinch. It is a beautiful home perfect for families and groups of friends.
A Place like no other, A home to remember
To wake each morning with the view of the ocean, the greenery of the landscape and the simplicity of the town and Irish way of life, was a truly memorable experience. A spectacular home with old Irish charm, fully updated with all modern conveniences. The detailed decor, luxury linens and amenities make you feel spoiled each day. The layout of the home is ideal for entertaining or family time together yet provides darling little hide away spaces for you to enjoy a book and afternoon nap.
Fanore and this Bridge House are a place to return to! We loved it!
I spent a glorious month here when my little boy was 4 and my little girl was 5 months old. We hiked, explored, and relaxed. The house is built for comfort. It's homey and relaxing. The views are breathtaking, the stonework is inspired and the entire experience left me wishing my life was always like that month. I am being completely honest when I say that I wish it were my home. I loved every second and was sorry to say goodbye.
