      Christmas Getaway

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in December 2012

My family and I traveled from Vancouver BC, and were looking for a log style home in a central location on Whidbey that could accommodate 5 people comfortably. We chose to stay at this property because it was affordable and appeared like a good space to relax, and it did not disappoint. We appreciated the wood burning stove that provided plenty of heat for the house, the attention to detail in the furnishings and artwork, and a balcony that afforded great views, and would have been amazing to hang out on if it had not been so cold out! We also appreciated the prompt and professional property management company that made the booking and follow up process easy and straightforward. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Bikers and tenders on a tour

Left on 10/01/2012 for a stay in September 2012

we rode in from Lake Crescent after a grueling climb over the hill to Port Townsend and a ferry ride with whales. We had a terrific dinner on mussels whose beds we had viewed from our rental deck. Setting magnificent, beds comfy, altogether wonderful experience!

The Texans Return to Whidbey Island

Left on 08/08/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We simply loved everything about Mussel Beach! The resident bunnies in the yard, the mussel traps(?) in the water below, the eagles we saw on our first evening, the wonderful extras provided in the cabin and deck areas, etc. This was the perfect location for us to hop to the San Juans and Victoria, BC, to Hurricane Ridge and Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, and to get our essential pie fixes at Greenbank Farm! We revisited old favorites in Langley, Coopville, and Oak Harbor, and made new friends and finds at other locatios on this wonderful island. This was our second trip to Whidbey, and the temps were cooler on the island than 2 years ago--no complaint, though, from the Texans who left 100+ degrees behind and came home to find the same hot, dry conditions again.
A few very minor suggestions: provide waste baskets in each room, especially the bedrooms; include more info in the check-in packet, to get things off to a smoother start, like where to find the things listed as provided by the owner, since some were discovered only after purchases had been made, and insure that all codes are correct; and finish the scary basement before we come back again! The W/D in the basement were essential to us during our long stay, but we had to draw straws for who would go down to do the laundry! The basement is all framed and ready to be built out, and it will be a great addition to the property. Then this wonderful house can be rented with 3 floors to a larger group, or divided for 2 groups to occupy simultaneously.
We give the acommodations and management group (Tara) high marks and would be happy to recommend this lovely property to anyone looking for a comfortable, central, well-appointed base on wonderful Whidbey Island.

      Fun,Sunny Memorial day weekend

Left on 05/30/2012 for a stay in May 2012

The house was fantastic, the only thing missing is a BBQ, and washer & dryer access would have been nice. But the house was great, very cozy for the 4 adults & 2 kids we had. The wrap around deck & amazing view was fantastic.

      Beautiful House and views

Left on 09/18/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We loved the house ,beautiful deck and view. The house has lovely furnishings--very comfortable. We stay at a lot of vrbo's and cottages and this one rated high. Improvements that we saw: More toilet paper and kleenex, not enough for a 4 nite stay, soap
in both bathrooms, trash bags for the kitchen. These would not be an issue if we knew ahead we were to provide them. Better dishwasher there was lipsticks on glasses. Second rental contact for questions, took a week to hear back from someone to charge rental
balance and ended up sending a check to meet deadline. DON'T MISS a meal at Ciao and Christopher's in Coupeville, both are excellent! Ebby Bluff walk is a must for nature's beauty. A thank you to the owner's for making this house available for others to share,
      it is very special.

      > The extra supplies are always provided, there was a temporary house cleaner who didn't stock the house properly. The dishwasher is a year old, it is best to use the steam cleaning to ensure the dishes are thecleanest. However, the water is hard and is very hard on the dishes and glasses. We have a new property manager who always responds within 24 hours at the latest :)

      Hints

Left on 08/30/2011 for a stay in August 2011

Just a couple of things. Even after getting the WI-Fi signal to work for a couple of our computers, it did not work for several others. This is probably a problem on your end. The propane tank was basically empty, We had to run out and get our own.

      MUSSEL BEACH COUPEVILLE

Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Beautiful home with commanding view of Penn Cove and nice privacy. A 5 min drive to downtown Coupeville, restaurants, grocery, gas, etc. No beach access that we could find...would be nice to have more detail on this as well as how to access Wi Fi (needs a code to access). Overall, a great stay for ourselves plus our two adult daughters and would highly recommend as the best property available in the area.
