SingaporeFeels like home
Left on 04/20/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Cosy atmosphere, super well stocked with all kitchen utensils, linens, toiletries etc. the only appliance they didn't have was an electric kettle but it was easy enough to boil water in a pot on thevstove. we loved the lakeside setting, waking up to the sound of chirping birds. Owner Holly was real easy going too. Beds were comfortable and we spent a lot of time lounging on the big sofa. Close to grocery stores and other conveniences. Perfect if you just need to unwind.

WaterburyA lovely, relaxing "time out" with our kids!
Left on 12/30/2012 for a stay in December 2012
This lakeside cottage was very comfortable for the 5 of us (all adults), and would have easily accommodated a 6th person. It was fully equipped and we wanted for nothing. The owners were very helpful, but unobtrusive. We all had a lovely stay in the middle of winter. The lake, which is large, is only steps from the cottage and the front deck looked very inviting (in warmer weather)! We were very, very happy with our experience and would go back in a heartbeat. We recommend this cottage and these owners highly. Couples and families will find it equally inviting. If you like antiques, this area is a treasure, and the lake promises lots of warm weather activities. We really want to go back again.

Long Island, NYGreat place to relax...with one glitch.
Left on 12/28/2012 for a stay in September 2012
I fell in love with this beautiful lakefront home when we found it on the internet. It boasted of kayaks, bicycles, and all the creature comforts of home. We travelled as a family bringing along another family friend. The bikes were flat and unfortunately Holly needed to come back to get us a pump - she did so willingly and quickly. Holly was a wonderful hostess, going over all the rules of the home, offering us suggestions on the areas restaurants and sights. We spent three days kayaking the lake, going to the farmers market and visiting the local college.
The only glitch to this trip was that we paid for $50. cleaning deposit and when I emailed Holly a couple of days later I asked if we left the place in good condition. She assured me that we would receive our deposit within a week. (we rented mid-September) I had to email and call Holly several times to remind her that I was expecting our deposit back. We didn't receive the deposit back until the second or third week in November. This was the only glitch to the whole experience. While I loved that place, I also feel that as a place a business, it is imperative to fulfill the responsibilities of owning the business - our job was to pay for the time we spent at this vacation haven, clean and maintain the property to the owners liking and be respectful of the owners and the surrounding neighbors. Would I rent there again? I would...but would insist that I do not pay a cleaning fee or ask for Holly to inspect the premises prior to my leaving to make sure we left her home in order. For anyone who rents this cottage - please be clear about the cleaning fee deposit return.Response from Holly Weston - 01/08/2013

I take full responsibly for not mailing the deposit back to the Kaspers. I am a busy working mom and life got so busy. I did send them double their deposit for their inconveniences. I have learned from this and now have renters send a separate check for their deposit. After I inspect the house and all is well I then shred and discard the check.

Missing Connecticut
Willimantic, CtThe view is still the background on my cell phone
Left on 12/20/2012 for a stay in October 2011
We were in Conn for a week going to a family reunion and a class reunion. Didn't want to be in a hotel. Wanted to be on vacation. This cottage was located perfectly for getting to Uconn, Willimantic, Manchester. But every morning we woke up to this beautiful 90 degree angle view of Coventry Lake. We would have to force ourselves to leave the cottage. The owner was just a phone call away to help with any problem and I hope its available for my husband's reunion.

Rio RicoWe loved it!

We stayed here in October, 2012. We had a wonderful time. The deck on the lake is lovely, and the living room has so many windows you almost feel like you are on a boat. The beds were comfortable, which is very important to me. Holly (owner) was very helpful, too. The kitchen is very well equipped, too. It's a wonderful location and a great place to relax. We're going back in February.
