CrowthorneReally nice modern apartment, central Cowes location
Left on 05/31/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We really enjoyed our stay, liked the apartment, and have no complaints at all. The booking and handover arrangements were all clear and easy. The apartment itself is in very good order, has some nice touches, and is well located for the centre of Cowes. Highlights include the large lounge area and fabulous bathroom. The bedrooms and kitchen by contrast are a bit small, but this didn't bother us. Overall, we were very happy indeed.

Left on 05/30/2013 for a stay in May 2013
The apartment was perfect. Clean, modern, well equipped and perfectly placed to explore the Isle of Wight. Dave was very helpful and flexible about when we arrived to pick up the keys. While we didn't need to, but as Dave is just across the road, it would have been easy to get in touch if we needed to. We even asked to stay an extra day but sadly it was already booked. Highly recommended.

Lovely modern apartment in an excellent location ~ 5 minutes walk from Cowes town centre. Ideally placed to visit the all the attractions the Isle of Wight offers.
The apartment is extremely comfortable ~ especially the huge bed in the main bedroom! The apartment is decorated in bright, bold colours ~ loved the lighting and large comfy sofas. A great modern kitchen with everything you need and the shower in the bathroom was a hit with my son!
We'll definitely be coming back to stay here in the future.

From a simple introduction to the flat you soon realise you have everything you need for your stay. I stayed on business for a few days and will be looking to use the apartment whenever I'm on the island in future, it's much nicer than other places I've stayed before. Highly recommended!

Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We stayed here for one night while in the Cowes area. It was a really enjoyable stay, so close to the local amenities. I could not fault the apartment, it is really ideal for anyone. It was very clean, it was bright and airy and the living space is a great size. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a comfortable stay while in Cowes. The owner was very flexible about arrival and check out times which was really useful. It was a quiet area while we were staying there too - no noisy neighbours and it is on a quiet road.

Left on 04/04/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Our family of four enjoyed a lovely three days on the Isle of Wight and SailSpy apartment was the perfect base for us to explore the island. It was a short distance from the ferry terminal in East Cowes (across the floating bridge in Cowes) which is one hour by car ferry from Southampton. The apartment was beautifully decorated and the owner had left us milk and bread which was a nice touch. Our two little boys slept very well in the comfy beds and after a long day out and about we were able to enjoy Sky TV and the wifi which was useful for catching up on work in the evenings. A great little place and we hope to visit again soon.

New MaldenFunky flat in a great location
Left on 01/10/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Situated on the first floor, near the centre of Cowes, this flat was perfect for my husband and two grown up friends staying for a 3 night break over New Year. But also equally great for families with older children (e.g. beyond pushchair stage).
The flat was clean, with tasteful decor and well equipped (ample crockery, cutlery, wifi and Sky TV) for our stay, and the Molten Brown toiletries made it feel even more luxurious. Great sized lounge with 2 large sofas which easily accommodated 4 grown ups.
Fantastic welcome pack for our stay of bread, milk, butter and jams.
Dave made it very easy to collect/return keys and prompt return of deposit. All in all a great and easy vacation, if there was one improvement I could suggest it would be a dishwasher.

Fantastic accomodation in ideal location, right next to the town centre with supermarkets and restaurants 2 minutes walk away.
The apartment was well equipped with all necessities for cooking, immaculately clean, me and my partner felt right at home. Very spacious and homely, with tv wifi and DVD player.(my partner was amazed)
Very nice gesture by Dave and alison to provide the basics (bread, butter, milk) helped us settle in right away.
Overall a perfect apartment will definitely be recommending to friends and family.

Sailspy was the ideal apartment for our first holiday on the IOW. It is equipped throughout to a very high standard and Dave, our landlord, and his partner alison were on hand and extremely helpful during our stay. We were within a couple minutes walk of the waterfront, shops, restaurants and pubs yet Sailspy is in a very quiet location.

Friendly and very helpful service - we both felt most welcome. Ideal location in Cowes. Apartment was warm and spacious. All we needed was provided. Sky Sport when wet or late evening - great. It was very restful and no noise at all at night. We were cycling and was a first-class location for that. Not a complaint...but a tiny suggestiion: maybe over the years could accumulate a few books (eg old railways of IofW, Osborne Castle, walks on the Downs etc) - historical/geographical b'ground to the island? Just a thought.

Accommodations were very nice and the convenience to the town center was outstanding. Only two minor suggestions for improvement would be a) a short one page set of directions for the washer / dryer to avoid having to study the manual, and b) a double set of bath towels to avoid frequent use of the washer/dryer.

Left on 09/19/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I would highly recommend the apartment to all those looking to stay in the area.
It is decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. Both bedrooms are spacious, as is the living room.
The apartment is a short walk to all of the amenities so is very handy if you are not travelling by car.
There is a lot of handy literature provided giving information on local places of interest and tourist attractions. In addition there were takeaway menus for local restaurants for those who do not wish to utilise the well stocked kitchen.
Unfortunately our visit was only a short one but would definitely look to book another stay in the near future. -

Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
This year was a financialy tough one for us (as for most of us in this economic climate) so I thought when we found a cheap holiday in our chosen location we were expecting a rough it type break. I couldn't have been more wrong the standard of Sailspy was superb, although minimal in style (we are used to clutter (lots of it))the flat felt like a home ,it was perfect in every way. The living room was huge and our one year old loved running up and down there (hope we didn't upset the people below ) there were many games left for people to use monopoly yahtzee etc also a playstation2 with a small library of games and dvds .Having sky tv was a real bonus (shame there was no movie channel)The kitchen was perfect for all home cooking and the provision of a washer dryer was very handy. the beds were huge (loads of room to have a row with the mrs and not speak all night) not that we had any reason to argue our break in cowes was lovely and sailspy just made it more so .My elder daughter and her partner joined us on this break and although Sailspy is a two bedroomed flat we never found ourselves under each others feet. All in all a perfect holiday we are hoping to return either later this year or middle of next .

We found this apartment last minute with the help of the IOW tourist board. Dave (owner) returned my call immediately and was extremely helpful in getting us booked in and setled. The apartment was perfect; stylish, practical and well located. We had a 3 yr old and a 6 mths old with us and it was a great family stay. My husband nearly fell over himself when he found the playstation & I browsed through the beautiful coffe-table books on sailing! We would definitely return and have already recommended to friends.

We live in Cowes but rented the apartment for 6 weeks in Spring 2011 to host a selection of visitors following us having a baby. The owners gave us a great degree of flexibility to work around visitors staying for different periods of time. All of our guests loved the location, decoration and level of maintenance of the apartment and all said they would book it personally when returning to Cowes. It would definitely be our first choice when looking for an apartment in Cowes.

Left on 05/06/2011 for a stay in April 2011
A funky flat, in a quiet street but close to all Cowes town centre amenities. All equipment and facilities were first-class except for one small thing - the towels supplied were not very absorbent. Owner was obliging and our refundable deposit, although we were initially surprised by the amount requested for a short stay of 3 days, was returned immediately after the let - we can only assume that the sum was based on poor past experience, but was a first for us. Happy to recommend for a comfortable stay for 4 people.

Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in January 2011
On the day of arrival, we collected the keys from allison (Dave's wife) who lives only a few blocks away from the apartment.
The apartment locates in a quiet area on West Cowes and is very convenient in terms of accessing to local shops and supermarkets. It is only 5 mins away from the city centre. We really liked the flat and stayed in almost every evening for dinner.
On one occassion where we accidentally set the fire alarm off (Nothing burnt but was caused by the amount of smoke come out from the kitchen), Dave came over to the flat immediately and fixed it. We felt terribly sorry for causing such a disrupting incident tho.
But overall, the flat is very clean and tidy. Beds are well-made and can be combined into a large double bed. Towels, hairdryer and toiletries are also provided (But do bring your own toothpaste and toothbrush). A welcome pack is given to all visitors, it includes a loaf of bread, milk and some spreadable butter, so need not to worry about breakfast. It really made ourselves a home! :) -

A large recycling bin has now been introduced for papers/magazines and glass. Plastic bottles and cans should be put with the general waste as these are sorted at a later stage by the Isle of Wight Council.
