Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in August 2012
I was there with family last summer, it's a private setting away from all the noise of the hotels by the beach, besides, the beach is just a couple of minutes away!!!
2 apartments downstairs ( they can be connected through a common door). The same with the 2 apartments upstairs, so parents and Kids can be "separated" but together at the same time.
It has a nice swimming pool for after hours recreation, with underwater lighting can be used until late at night.
A very private place. If you're planning for a while in beautiful Cozumel this is the place, you avoid the 5 starshotel pricing, and you have for yourself a very nifty private setting.
And remember, you're in an island so everything is close, you can even walk places.
It feels like if you're part of the neighborhood, surrounded by the locals, and after a short distance, you're where all the tourists are.
You have access to wifi, so you're connected to the world.
I loved it.
Hopefully I will be tere for this incoming summer!!! -

Extremely well kept up condo, very relaxed yet safe area.
Owner provided extra details we did not expect like access to outdoor cooking and very reliable wifi.
We would recommend this condo as a family friendly and secure place to stay. It is within walking distance to the beach and an outstanding bakery!

Dennis's villas are beautiful, clean and in a great location. We enjoyed our few days there and will definitely be back! Dennis is a great "host", guiding us to great local spots! 1 block from the beach, swim with the dolphins, downtown shopping area. Free Wifi. Grocery store 1 block away...everything was convenient. Nothing but great things to say about this rental!!!

Hartland, WIDifferent kind of island experience
Left on 04/08/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My wife and I chose to stay at Casa Deja Blue because of its location and accommodations. We stopped in to meet Dennis, the owner, when we were in Cozumel the previous year. We were very impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the villa and the great hospitality of the host, Dennis anderson who lives on site. If we ever wanted for anything, we stepped out onto our balcony and called, "Dennis!" Within minutes our needs were fulfilled. He provided transportation from and back to the airport and even offered to take us down to the marina every morning to go scuba diving. The place was clean and quiet, except for the peacocks on the roof of the building across the street. Dennis even bailed me out when I ran out of gas with the scooter I had.

Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This was our third year in a row to Cozumel, and our second consecutive stay at Casa Deja Blue. When we found this place last year, we were looking for a place with character -- something different from the mega resorts. We wanted to be in San Miguel, and we wanted a place with a kitchen so we could prepare some of our own meals. We found Casa Deja Blue and we knew we were in the right spot. For about $100 us per night, we get a 1 bedroom condo with separate living/sleeping quarters, a full kitchen, AC, TV, and internet. The accommodations are nice, too -- no worries about sub-par quality. I dare you to find a better value on the island. Book in advance, this place is popular in high season. The owner, Dennis, is very easy to reach via e-mail, and if you are nice he will even pick you up from the airport. Sweet!

Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Villas Deja Blue is located in the Corpus Christi area of Cozumel, Mexico Our 2 bedroom unit was comfortable, well furnished, and very clean. The villa units are gated and the courtyard area with the salt water pool is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It is a very quiet and safe neighborhood within walking distance of the ocean, lots of restaurants, and two grocery stores. We did not rent a car,and we could walk just about anywhere in 1/2 hour or less. Dennis anderson, the owner, was delightful!! He makes sure his guests are comfortable and well taken care of!! We loved everything so much that we booked for two months in 2014,,

Hartland, WICasa Deja Blue is awesome!
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This was one of our best vacations in Cozumel and we go every year, staying a different place each year. What made our stay so terrific was staying with Dennis at Casa Deja Blue! Dennis lives on the property and was rapidly available to help out or correct any issues. Unlike most hotels in Mexico, everything works!! We were picked up at the airport, Dennis drove us to the South Marina for diving, he recommended great places to eat and even helped us out when our scooter ran out of gas! The dive shop he recommended was awesome as well! The villa consists of a bedroom, full bath, full kitchen and living room. We ate breakfast there most mornings before diving and had snacks there when we came back. There is continuous hot water, which is incredible! The bed is comfortable, and there is even a lending library in the living room! Leave a book, take a book, kind of thing. The pool is a salt water pool available in the courtyard until 10 pm at night. The villa has a locked courtyard, making it very secure. There is even a grill in the courtyard! Dennis was kind enough to lend a bike to me, so that I could get my daily exercise, which saved me having to rent one. His place is just south of downtown, 2 blocks from a grocery store. One block away is the main road, which runs along the west side of the island with great views of the ocean. Only a few minutes walk from downtown, you can also grab a cab, or if he is around Dennis will often volunteer a ride! We just felt very well cared for and like we had a new friend in Cozumel, with connections. We will be staying with Dennis again!

We were so happy with our stay at Casa Deja Blue. As two women in our mid 20s, safety was our 1st priority, our second was diving. Both priorities were met :) Dennis was great, he made sure we were well taken care of, and any concerns we had, he addressed in the best way. The hotel was very clean and well taken care of. The property reflects the care that he puts into it. We would 100% stay here again.
He also offered great suggestions on just about any activity you could do in the area, he also put us in touch with Caribbean Divers-Cozumel which was a great diving company. Make sure to check out both the hotel and diving while in Cozumel, it's unbelievable. -

Dennis wants his guests to enjoy their vacation; he's helpful if guests have any problems, and he knows Cozumel, so if guests want suggestions about activities they'd like, he can share ideas. This is a great location, you don't need a car. Living room has comfortable furniture, WiFi works great, kitchen is well equiped. Owner does expect guests to follow his simple rules.

We stayed at Casa Deja Blue for the month of February and have nothing but positive to say about our experience, from making the initial reservation to our departure. Dennis is a great host who is always available should you need anything; he even drove us to the marina every day we dove.
Our villa was just as pictured and described on the website and provided a secure comfortable home base during our stay. Two large grocery stores are within a 5 minute walk and downtown is an easy 15 minute walk. There are also several wonderful places to eat within easy walking distance.
Would have no hesitation recommending Dennis and his villas to others! -

Dennis is an attentive host and was very helpful with recommendations during our stay as this was our first time in Cozumel. We found all his recommendations excellent from the Dive Boat (Caribbean Divers) to restaurants and shore snorkeling sites. The accommodations were clean, roomy and very comfortable and we would definitely stay here again. Rooms are cleaned each day and the staff was pleasant and helpful. We were able to walk everywhere in town and shuttles were provided for the dive boat, taxis were easy to take to more remote beaches.

We stayed at deja blue for 10 nights and we were very pleased with the location, cleanliness, amenities and security of the condo. Our villa was the larger size with a living room and kitchen with an attached bedroom which had a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool. The living room felt very cozy and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. The cleaning staff always made our place look spectacularly clean! Dennis, the owner, was exceptionally friendly and helpful! He goes above and beyond his duties. He recommended many good restaurants, beach spots, and even helped us with renting a car! We would highly recommend staying in this place!!

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in December 2012
I was caught in a rut and the owner, Dennis, was super accomodating -- allowing me to stay 2 nights (vs. the 4 night minimum), given the holiday season rush. The room was super clean, comfortable and just right. Whenever I needed something (like a cup for water or if the internet needed a re-boot), Dennis gave me his email address right upon arrival(as connected to iPhone) and said he could be reached anytime; I did take advantage of this and he was always quick to respond. Dennis was even thoughtful in offering a ride from his Villas to the Ferry Boat back to Playa Del Carmen. I sure appreciate his concern for safety, too. It was a great place to stay if you wanted to be "connected" by a short walk to main downtown Cozemel attractions yet have a more quiet stay (although mopeds can tend to be loud in the area).
Love my stay. -

Calgary AB CanadaFantastic stay at Casa Deja Blue
Left on 12/13/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My wife and I just returned from a 6 week visit to Cozumel where we chose to stay at Casa Deja Blue. We chose this particular accommodation, which included the full kitchen/living room, after reviewing numerous places available on the internet. We found Dennis anderson, our host, to be very helpful in making some decisions, prior to our departure, on issues such as what medical shots we needed, whether to purchase ferry tickets on line or in Playa del Carmen, how to get to his place (easy - he picked us up at the ferry) and others. Once there, Dennis was a wealth of information from where to shop for groceries to snorkeling locations to restaurants, car rental and more. He was always available for questions and had a very reasonable attitude for all situations.
Our room was kept clean by two wonderful ladies who would wash our dishes, clean daily (except for Sunday) and change our sheets weekly. We had the place mostly to ourselves during this time except for the Ironman weekend and another weekend, so we would sit by the pool and do our e-mails, reading, knitting (my wife), some swimming. Dennis would join us for enjoyable chats and share a glass of wine. We found the place very family oriented, and we met and made several new friends while lazing around the pool.
Casa Deja Blue is located about one block from the water front with a number of places where we could do some shore snorkeling, about 2 blocks from groceries and a short walk from the ferry terminal, downtown shopping and car rental.
This was our first and not last trip to Cozumel and we will definitely return to Casa Deja Blue in future trips. If you are planning on a trip to Cozumel and are looking for accommodations, I would highly recommend that you give Casa Deja Blue and Dennis serious consideration.

Left on 12/11/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed six nights in one of the self-contained rooms and it was exactly what we wanted which was a small apartment complex with a personal feel at a reasonable price. We got all that and more. The décor of the room was lovely and the cleaning standard was excellent.
Dennis, the owner, provided fantastic service, even picking us up from the ferry at close to midnight. Plus he went out of his way to help us get some documents back to The States in a hurry. Thanks Dennis, much appreciated.
The location was great. An easy walk to a large grocery store (two blocks away), handy to town, easy access to the south part of the island and plenty of parking if you decide to rent a vehicle.
I would highly recommend a stay at Casa Deja Blue. -

Left on 11/30/2012 for a stay in November 2012
I ended up at Villa Deja Blue under the direction of a friend, and now it will be my first choice in accommodations when I visit Cozumel. The rooms were very clean and well kept. While I didn't opt for the full kitchen, I had a chance to view one and wow - next time I will be sure to pay the extra to have it! Full stove/oven, refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffeemaker - beautifully tiled and ready to spend lots of relaxing time in. Wireless internet was available for those of us that need to keep in touch! The maid service was wonderful. The gals were very friendly - I even caught one singing a nice tune as she was cleaning. :)
The proximity to a full grocery store was just 2 blocks - an easy walk. And, a few blocks in either direction put you in the heart of everything. Shops, restaurants, beaches, snorkeling - all very close.
This trip was specifically for the Ironman event, and the location of Villas Deja Blue was perfect! Made for an easy day of spectating - being able to return to the room quickly when needed. Previously, I stayed at an all-inclusive on the far-far-far South end of the island, and really felt secluded from all that the island has to offer. Villas Deja Blue was prime.
Dennis anderson, the owner, was great to work with. If you coordinate your trip with him, he'll pick you up from the airport and drop you back off. Any need I had with the room, or advice on where to go in town (especially for food!) he was right there with an answer.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Villas Deja Blue, and can't wait to return next summer! -

Left on 11/29/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Casa Deja Blue is a fantastic villa if you are looking for a location that is close to town, a swim with the dolphins, the movie theater, the ferry launch, the airport, and less than 6Km from the beaches on the south side of the island. Dennis anderson has accommodations to fit any need. Each floor has a suite that has a full kitchen and living room and two bedrooms with private baths. One room has two twin beds and the other room has a queen bed. Depending on your needs, you may arrange for a single room with or without the use of the kitchen and living room. Cleaning service is provided daily, except on Sunday. Each room has air conditioning, access to fresh bottled water, hair dryers, and televisions. Internet service is available for a small fee. The court yard contains a sparkling pool, an area to rinse your scuba gear, and a grill. The grocery store is a short two block walk away if you plan to cook a meal. If not, Dennis has recommendations for many fantastic restaurants that are off the tourist path.
If you are looking for a nice, clean, and reasonable villa for your trip to Cozumel, you must inquire about the availability at Casa Deja Blue. -

Left on 11/28/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We stayed here on our 2nd trip to Cozumel.
If you are interested in exploring the town, watching the Ironman, or having more than just a packaged trip, this is a great place.
The rooms were great, we had two bedrooms/two bathrooms with a kitchen/common room separating them. Rooms were clean and the kitchen was set up to allow us to prep meals as needed.
The location is great, just a few blocks from downtown for exploring and not too far from beaches if you want a day at the beach.
Dennis was a great host, hanging out by the pool to give us an insider's view and make recommendations on food, shopping and touring.
I would stay here again! -

I stayed at Casa Deja Blues for 5 evenings and loved every minute of it. Dennis is great about communicating so there were no surprises. The price is more than fair for what you get; an intimate gated little villa experience with a pool and spacious accommodations which include a kitchen and everything you need to cool all your meals. The location is ideal for this setting; one block from the grocery store and from the main seaside drive. Rooms were clean and the cleaning crew was outstanding. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Cozumel. As an added bonus, Dennis is very good about letting you know what to expect, look out for, and take advantage of during your Cozumel experience.

Left on 09/18/2012 for a stay in September 2012
I stayed at Villas Deja Blue from September 7th through the 16th. I traveled to Cozumel with a large group of people and actually rented all the rooms for the people in our group. Dennis, the owner was very agreeable and generous. He comes with an architecture background, and that shows in the way the villas are laid out. He seems to have made a strong effort to make this place as functional and efficient as possible. There was good plumbing, the beds were comfy, and the sheets good quality. There was a very modern salt-water pool that the kids in our group thoroughly enjoyed.
Dennis also helped me and my group book a snorkeling tour that turned out to be the highlight of our stay given the fact that we got to swim with a pod of wild dolphins. He got us a good discount price and actually went on the boat with us to ensure we were treated as good as possible.
Upon completion of our stay there, Dennis was kind enough to offer me and some of the members in our group a ride to the airport. All in all, i would stay this is a great place to stay when you go on an extended vacation as the villas are fully equipped with everything you need to cook a good home-cooked meal. Dennis has been on the island for many years now and has a wealth of knowledge on things to do, places to eat, and places to avoid!
Great stay, i look forward to returning to Cozumel for some more snorkeling and scuba diving. -

The rooms were very clean, everything working perfectly even the internet which is rare on the island.
The pool was perfectly clean (Denny scleans it by himself).
The experience on Casa Deja Blue was quiet nights, clean and smells rooms, no problems at all and Dennys was always there for answer our questions and suggests us all the good spots for fiving and the best beaches for snorkeling.

60950Casa Deja Blue - Great place for divers
Left on 05/20/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Last May we stayed a block from Casa Deja Blue and decided to try another place in the same area. This location works for us as divers since Casa Deja Blue is a block from the water and we can get dropped off at one of the hotel piers for a short walk home. Also a block way is the Chedraui (huge)grocery store as well as the movie theater. The Owner, Dennis anderson, volunteered to take us to the pier each day where our dive boat left from. Dennis also offered to get us to and from the airport, which we accepted.
Casa Deja Blue has 3 stories of rooms that can be rented multiple ways-one bedroom, two bedroom, and one and two bedroom with full living room and kitchen (Hope I got that right Dennis).
The four of us chose the two bedroom with the kitchen and living room between the rooms. The living area had comfortable sofas, great view of the pool, and a TV. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and pots to cook any meal. We also grilled steaks one night on the gas grill by the pool.
The pool was always clean and clear with plenty of lounge chairs to relax in and get a little sun, and in our case, little was the correct term since we had light rain in the afternoons.
The aC works well in all the rooms and the maid did a great job every day keeping our place clean.
The pricing for our stay was more than reasonable, or we would not have stayed here-we are divers and we spend our money diving, not on fancy accommodations.
The only thing I could have asked for was more sun in the afternoons so we could have enjoyed more of the beautiful Cozumel sunsets. -

Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Deja Blue was exactly as advertised. No surprises.
An easy walk to town (stay away until the cruzeros - cruise ship passengers have sailed after 5p.m. usually) and a block away from the super market and two blocks from the Mega...which is a supermarket and more.
When we didn't feel like going out we cooked steaks and shrimp of fish on the BBQ/
Couple of things to know. It's worth renting a car and try and arrange it online at somewhere like Smart Car at the airport. They will advertise $20 a day sometimes but then they will tack on the insurance at $10 a day. Still, for $30 a day its not bad if you're not too fuzzy about the type of vehicle...convertible Tracker or VW Bug...for example, very worn.
While you'll enjoy walking around and walking over to the Beach at the Cozumel Hotel and Resort just down the street (Beaches are generally public areas) you'll want to explore the beaches on the other undeveloped side and those along the south south west shore and check out the beach in the North end. Avoid the taxis because they are expensive and they have a monopoly.
Our only quibble was that we found the mattresses harder than we're used to but Dennis says he's going to replace them or at least re top them with a cushion top.
You're in town too so sometimes it gets noisy, though as city folks it didn't bother us.
Dennis is a great host who would do almost anything for you - including a guided tour of the island. The Wifi was great and dependable which meant we kept all our friends jealous on Facebook every day and the maids kept the rooms spotless.
So much better than a hotel and the diving with Cesar and Caribbeans Divers was excellent!!! -

My wife and I stayed with Dennis for a week in March of 2012. This was our first time, and we weren't quite sure what to expect. There are so many places to stay on Cozumel -- with tons of varying price ranges to match. We are like most people -- we wanted a nice place to stay, in a convenient location -- but we didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. After all, no one flies to Cozumel to sit in a room all day, right?
Before we arrived, Dennis offered to pick us up from the airport, which we gladly accepted. That is a very nice touch.
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Casa Deja Blue. There is a locking gate/fence that separates the villas from the public street, so we immediately felt safe. Dennis told us he was completely booked up, but we only saw 3 other people the entire week we were there -- and that was on the way in/out a couple of days. The location is very, very convenient. The accommodations are better than the pictures show on the website. (bigger). The kitchenette worked great for us, and we enjoyed having a separate sitting room from the bedroom. The nights at light make everything look really cool. (partyers be advised, there is a 10:30 quiet time in the common areas -- we really appreciated this, as we are early risers)
Short and long -- low price, great place to stay. This is the perfect spot in San Miguel for budget-minded adventure travelers. We will be going back. Oh, lest I forget, the aC worked and was good and cold -- though we only used it when sleeping. -

The Hotel Deja Blue is within walking-distance of downtown Cozumel, yet far enough away from the main tourist areas to allow for personal space and privacy. Besides having clean and comfortable lodging areas, a well-maintained swimming pool, and a very affordable rate all means that this is one of the most attractive places to enjoy sun, sand, food, drinks and friends.
Also within walking distance are vendors renting bicycles, scooters, and cars.
Again, a convenient location, comfort and affordability made the Deja Blue ideal for me when I wanted to kick back and take it easy. -

Blackheath, LondonReturn to the best value accommodation on Cozumel
Left on 01/22/2012 for a stay in December 2011
After our initial visit last year, we decided to revisit Cozumel and decided there was no reason to trawl through all the accommodation available again, so after a quick refresher we booked our return to Casa Deja Blue. We had stayed in the large top floor apartment for the last few days last year, and decided to book into there. We booked for a month. As with last year, our flight arrived late, so Dennis anderson the owner, kindly offered to collect us from the airport, which saved us the taxi trip. He also took us to the airport in January, he really is very accommodating, nothing is too much. We booked a car this year, Dennis took us to his recommended car hire and we got a great discount. New to Casa Deja Blue is a 6 day per week maid service, which was excellently carried out by two lovely locals. We had a fantastic month again, aided by Dennis, who is always on hand to give any assistance he can, nothing is too much trouble, and his tips for restaurants etc are spot on, so take them on board. Can't recommend Casa Deja Blue enough, what you spend to stay, will leave you plenty of cash to spend at all the amenities that are close by this ideally located accommodation. Two blocks from the beach and a short walk to town, in a safe and secure environment, which makes walking around a no brainier. Try it, make it your base, you won't be disappointed.

My hubby and I stayed at Casa DeJa Blue for 10 days in December 2011. Dennis was very accomadating in all our email interaction. He picked us up the the ferry. the room we had was nice, clean and comfortable. The accomadations were spacious and comfortable. All our requests for extra pillows or water were prompltly fulfilled. our room had a galley kitchen,a bid jug of water as well as basic cutlery, dishes, microwave, coffee maker. Dennis got us a griddle for making breakfast. The bed was a bit hard but htis is common and you get used to it. The pool is lovely and great to jump into on a hot Cozumel day. There is also a BBQ available outside. The units are located within a gated area which is common to the island. It is a few blocks from two major grocery stores Mega and Chedurai, also some good restaurants near by. Dennis was also helpful with making suggestions for ;places to eat or go. He invited us out one night with a bunch of other people to the Blue angel for drinks. Had a great time mingling with locals and other tourists staying at Deja Blue. Our friend who stayed in town at another location said if he had found out about Casa Deja Blue he would have booked there instead. Overall highly recommended, we are even considering a return trip already.

We were staying 6 days in Cozumel, and they were incredible, the Deja Blue Villas are beautiful and very comfortable, are one block from the main road and near a supermarket, which makes them very attractive as the Villas have a beautiful kitchen . The attention of the owner Dennis is unmatched. I totally recommend the villas to spend the vacation in Cozumel.

We spent 3 weeks at Casa Deja Blue and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Dennis, the owner, lives on-site but is very unobtrusive. He’s easy to work with and does what he says he’s going to do and charges what he says he’s going to charge. The apartment was exactly what we needed. More than a hotel room with a full (small) kitchen. There is a pool in front and you are only a couple blocks from the ocean (no beach) and a couple blocks from the supermarket (Chedraui). The bed is comfortable and the furnishings are nice. If I had to quibble – I’d say the microwave could have used a good cleaning but to be fair it’s probably up a little high for the Mexican maid to see/clean. I highly recommend this to anyone and would consider staying here again.

We have traveled to Mexico many times. This was our first time straying away from a resort. It was awesome and would definitely do it again. Villa was very clean, furniture has been updated from the pictures on this site and was very comfy. The villa is very close to the grocery store and the ampitheater. Dennis was very accomodating and available if we needed anything. We had a wonderful time and were the only guests in the villa due to low season. We felt safe walking to and from the store, to town etc, even though we had rented a car for longer trips around the island. Street parking is available and

Left on 08/11/2011 for a stay in August 2011
You'll find the cleanest pool on the island here. The rest of the property is very well maintained as well. This is a great place for divers since it's close to the oceanfront, has a new gear rinse area and is close to many amenities. It's in the Corpus Christi area, just 2 blocks from Chedraui, a large grocery store. Owner Dennis anderson has lived on the island for many years and has great information to share with his guests. Cozumel doesn't offer much lodging for those needing handicap accessibility, but this property comes close. The ground floor unit has only 1 small step up to walk in, with no steps inside the unit. We found it to be very convenient with all the basics we needed for our 8-night stay.

I cannot express how perfect this property is. It is located in the Corpus Christi neighborhood; blocks from the beach, away from the Cruise ship crowds and main square, but still within walking distance to almost anything you would need.
We had our diving pre-booked before arriving. We walked each morning to the dive shop/dock which was only a 10 minute walk away.
Dennis, the owner is awesome! He just a shout a way to answer to any question or offer recommendations on hidden gems for a great meal. If you haven't planned activites for your trip; he can set things up directly for you.
Over all the property is svry clean and well maintained. All property pictures posted are accurate.

Dennis' place is beyond what the pictures show. You'll appreciate the intimate and comfortable appointments. I nosed around, checked out other rooms; you can not go wrong here.
I'll provide this explanation, though - I wish I'd understood. In addition to the 1 bed apt, there are three levels, each with 2 bedrooms, with baths and kitchen/living area between. As such, you may book a king room, which leaves another room and kitchen/living on your level, open for booking. It's difficult to book with 3rd party, but that's okay. Just call Dennis. He'll sort it out. Quite reasonably, I'll add.
Dennis was all everyone said. Even, the jack-@ss who accused him of being a violent rascist... Heh! No really, wait 'till you hear that story! In fact, Dennis had us lined up with a boat before we got there. No BS or upcharge, either. We aren't divers, we wanted to fish. We were not dissapointed! (see pics)
Okay, what else? Yes... Groceries are close, so's the ocean, good food, stuff, etc... Oh! I had a bad case of sunburn and Casa Deja Blue has complimentery aloe vera plants for necessary harvesting. And a really nice pool. And, if you book a kitchen, don't spend money on pantry items. Dennis probably has them and he is terrific at sharing.
We travel a lot and have been to many places. I've never considered a repeat like I do here. If you appreciate low-key, off the tourist path, great architechture, comfort and useful information, stay here.
Hope I can again, soon!Response from Dennis Anderson - 06/24/2011

Very nice place, with western style kitchens and rooms. The owner, Dennis, was the diffrence between a good time and a great time, offering on target recommendations for local dining, activities, and insights in to Cozumel's culture. He was a wealth of information and a very good resource, someone I look forward to visiting and hanging out with again.
My wife and I prefer a more authentic travel experiance, and Casa Deja Blue provided us with accomidations that did not sequester us away inside a stale all-inclusive prison/resort. We were within very short walking distance of the major island attractions and shopping. We were shocked at how nice the town was, and how friendly the locals were, and how there was very little litter. We freely walked the streets and shops in non tourist areas and felt completly welcomed and comfortable.
When I return I won't consider staying anywhere else. Combination of value, management, and accomidations made this the location for us in Coz. Someone else might be able to copy what Dennis offers, but I'll stick with what I know is great. -

We enjoyed our one month stay at Casa Deja Blue. We found our host very helpfull on anything that we needed or wanted to know. We found the pool very refreshing on the hot days. The traffic was a bit loud going past but that may have been because of the next road over was closed for repairs. We were about a 20 minute walk to the main down town area, which we enjoyed doing most days. There were no sandy beaches close by but we found some good spots for snorkling and some good beach bar spots where you could get into the water. I found the dive shop, that our host recommended very good also. We are hoping to stay longer next time we come back.

We are avid divers that like to get to Cozumel to break up the winter. In previous trips, I've rented homes because I was with a larger group, but this time, I needed only a place for 2 people. Deja Blue is away from the traffic and cruise ship crowds but close enough that you can join in the mayhem, if you desire. Located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks south of the MegaMarket and Chedraui, it was perfect for what we needed.
The goods:
Kitchenette to prepare your own meals
Cost is very reasonable
Quiet neighborhood with easy access to shops
Dennis, the manager is very helpful
The others:
Bed was OK. I would call it average in comfort
This place is geared for travelers on a budget who don't require a lot of amenities. If you're a diver who wants a low-key, gem of a place to stay, this is where you should go. -

Left on 01/23/2011 for a stay in December 2010
Where to start, I arrived after super on the 28th of December 2010 after having difficulties locating the place. I had left a $1000 us deposit prior to my arrival, the unit was rented through a third party agency. I was met by Denis the owner who was sitting at the gate, he seemed to be annoyed about the time we arrived. He greeted us by stating that if we were going to be staying there that I would have to produce $1200.00 cash. I explained that I did not have the money right now but would get it for him the following day as we been travelling all day and it was getting dark, Dennis agreed. The following day me, my wife and five year old daughter went to town for the day, I went to the bank and got the money to pay for the unit. Denis had instructed to shout out his name when we needed to talk to him. At 18:30 I called for him and he did not respond, at 20:30 I went out to meet friends and called for him he did not respond, I returned at 00:30 he was no where in site. In the morning I met with the third party who I rented the property through, I gave him the money to give to Dennis. When he went to pay Dennis, Dennis freaked out and told him we had to be out of the unit by 11 am the next day. I went to speak with Dennis to try to find out what was going on and reason with him. He was in a very agitated state and yelling at me stating that he was fed up with this [--] and that I was suppose to pay on the first day on arrival, I informed him that I had the money but he was not around when I went to pay him, he said he didn't care and that I had to get out, I informed him that I had my wife and five year old with me too, he said he didn't care and that he could rent the unit I was in several times over since I was there as people were knocking at his door. He then said this and I quote: "This is what happens you deal with dirty corrupt Mexicans." Pretty strong words from him considering he's not mexican. My wife then interrupted after hearing Dennis shouting. I broke the news to my wife and daughter who both started to cry, try to explain to a five year old about a person like Dennis. Dennis then threatened to call the police if we did not leave.
After this the third party person I rented through (the dirty mexican as per Dennis) was able to find us within two hours a two bedroom waterfront apt which was much nicer then what we had Casa Deja Bleu.
The two bedroom unit we had was adequate. The pool was freezing cold and I had to put a wetsuit to go in with my daughter and was going to buy one for her two prior to getting kicked out. The court yard receives little sun throughout the day do to location of the building.
I have little nice to say about my experience about staying there, prior and during my bookings I was never advised about having money on hand to pay the difference. I would like to mention that I'm a police officer and this is by far the worse I've ever been treated anywhere's and I've travelled a lot.
I would like to thank Dennis for the Merry Christmas and Happy New Year he provided me and my family. I would've commented earlier but I was afraid that Dennis would've read this and if we met in town, I was worried because of his agitated and apparently violent nature that it could've lead to a confrontation that I did not want.
If you do want to stay here, Dennis is only about $$$ and has no common sense or compassion.
I think everyone will get the picture of the start of my holiday. I'm happy for the third party agency for looking after us after we left.Response from Dennis Anderson - 04/27/2011

I travelled to Mexico for the 1st time in December and had the best value for money trip ever. I didn't want full on tourism so decided to stay on Cozumel, where I had heard I could experience both hustle, bustle as well as peace & quiet. On the Internet, I found the Casa Deja Blue, an apartment hotel which sounded just right for me. Perfect for my budget and located in Corpus Christi, the nicest neighbourhood on the island by reputation, just a couple of blocks from the sea and all the amenities of the busy 'strip', but on a nice residential street which afforded me the laid back vibe I wanted. To say Casa Ceja Blue surpassed all my expectations wouldn't be an exaggeration. I had a spacious 1 bedroom apt, complete with cable TV, fully equipped kitchen, lounge and seperate bedroom. To self cater would be a dream, as large supermarkets are a few minutes walk, but as the apt was such amazing value, it was possible to eat out for the whole three weeks I was there. Hotel owner Dennis anderson was always available if needed, but apart from providing some local info & un-biased restaurant recommendations (all spot on) I had no need to call. Attentive to all my needs but never intrusive, just making sure all was okay, just the way I like it. Casa Deja Blue was just right for me, with a nice pool, peace & quiet, disturbed by minimal passing traffic which was never a problem, and the Island is extremely safe and walking around day or night is not a problem, despite some of the areas looking a little ramshackle, as is usual in island life. Dennis was able to provide hire cars etc and tours, but there was never any pressure selling, and no hidden agendas. All in all, I had a wonderful time, and will return very soon to use the Casa Deja Blue as my base to explore some more of the island, having spent most of my time this trip on the 'deserted' east coast horizontal on a hammock in the sunshine. I was looking for sunshine and solitude, I found it on Cozumel! This fantastic Value for Money Gem was complimented by an equally fantastic host and hotelier, Dennis anderson and The Casa Deja Blue!
For the budget I had set, I had expected a small studio/room of the beaten track, instead to my amazement, I had a spacious 1 bedroom apartment, including a lounge, cable colour TV and a fully equipped kitchen, located a 5 minute walk from the beach, main road, shops and restaurants. Close to the hotel are 2 giant supermarkets, where you can fill your fridge and kitchen with everything to self cater. Casa Deja Blue is located in a quiet road in the trendy residential area of Corpus Chrsti, and although some of the surrounding area house's can appear basic and simple, this hotel stands out. The whole island is completely safe to walk anywhere day or night. out of all my years of travelling, this has been one of my favourite vacations, with Dennis providing accurate and unbiased opinion's of places where to eat and go etc, never a big sell to buy any packages, unusual but refreshing! He was always on site when needed, which was never! but nice to know. I ended up staying three weeks at the Casa Deja Blue, so I upgraded from the economy room to the double penthouse apartment, as the hotel rate is so affordable, without comfort being compromised.Google Earth the hotel location, and you will see that it is situated two blocks back from the main island road, and occasionally you do get some traffic noise, this is minimal, and neither constant or annoying. On a final note - Go to the uninhabited East Side of the island, for peace, tranquility and the beaches all to yourself. Visit Mezcalito's Beach Bar,spend the day! great food, excellent service with only the odd tourist here and there :-) Dennis can arrange a hire car/scooter, as you will need one to visit here. I am already planning my Cozumel fix as I write this, and yes, I will stay at The Casa Deja Blue. Chase . -

The general location is great, in the best residential area of San Miguel. It was two blocks to the Mega Mart and Chedurai stores, one block to the shoreline road that leads for about 10 blocks to the ferry, downtown and the zocalo (Centro). Car or moped rentals nearby, too. Also on the south side of the city of San Miguel to get to the beaches and hotels to the south, along the shoreline road.
We liked the setup of the two rooms we rented for our family - one with twin beds for my son and I, and another with a queen bed for my daughter. There was a kitchenette-living room inbetween the two bed rooms, each of which had their own toilet facilities with shower stalls.
Dennis anderson, the owner, did a good job designing the Casa, supervising the construction and decorating. It is clean and fairly new, in good condition. He provided many helpful tips about restaurants, shopping, etc., drove my son to a laundry and interpreted for him, drove my daughter to the airport.
Suggestions might be to provide written instructions to guests about use of the toilets, about drinking water (big 10 gallon jugs of pure water available daily) and other essentials. The too-hot heavy weight quilts that doubled as bedspreads could have been supplemented with light weight blankets as alternatives. Lack of hot water for morning showers was a problem. Overall these were minor things.
Dennis also wants half of the rental cost in cash and in advance, via Pay Pal, with the balance due in cash (either pesos or us dollars) upon arrival. That important point could be emphasized more in communicating with guests during discussions of the rental. It's not a problem if you know it in advance and also know that local aTM machines have a 5,000 or 6,000 peso limit as to how much money per day you can withdraw. -

I found Casa Deja Blue online after exhausting my options for an affordable Christmas week rental in Cozumel. Dennis was very responsive and offered us a great rate for 10 days during the high season, for a 2 bedroom unit with full kitchen. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, blender, toaster, and other wares. It was also great having 2 bathrooms between the 3 of us. The pool is right outside the front door and there are plenty of chairs to lounge in. Only six potential units make this a cozy place, where you can chat with other guests around the pool, or just coming and going. Casa Deja Blue is only a couple of blocks from the big Chedraui supermarket, which itself is only a block or so from the brand new MegaMart. But it's away from the noisy downtown, which is about a 15 minute walk away. There is some street traffic noise, so if you need total peace and quiet you won't get it, but you get used to it after awhile. Cars go by every few minutes and the occasional garbage truck or car stereo music will wake you. If you've spent any time in a Mexican town you come to expect and accept some of this. Plenty of free street parking for scooters or cars at Casa Deja Blue, by the way.
As for nearby beaches, you can walk a couple blocks to the waterfront and go in through the hotels to use their beaches, as long as you buy a drink or lunch or something from them. (We always went around lunchtime and made an afternoon of it.) We had a rental car and spent most of our beach time down the coast at the Fiesta americana beach, or the Money Bar beach just a couple hundred yards north of that, where the snorkeling is excellent.
The only cons are:
- Hot shower water is limited, but this seems common in Mexico.
- the bigger teflon pans are scratched to bits and should be replaced; teflon has been found not desirable to cook with even intact (check the research), but ingesting bits of torn teflon is even more of a health concern.
-Most important: Dennis should make more prominent, or repeat a couple times, the policy of the balance payment "at the door." When he says at the door, he means it (in cash). This had been mentioned in the body of an earlier email but I thought it was more a figure of speech than a literal request. After getting off the ferry, and flying before that, we were a little loopy, it was late, and we certainly didn't have $700 us cash on us, or the equivalent in pesos. We expected that we'd be able to get to an aTM in the morning and bring it back to him. (Which is what we ended up doing and he was cool about it, but this does not mean that he liked it.) The reason for up front payment is that guests have left without paying the balance and some owners have really gotten burned.
Don't forget, there is a limit to how much you can withdraw each day from an aTM, so take that into account when getting the balance. We had to withdraw from 2 accounts to get enough pesos to pay it.
All in all, a good deal if you like small, casual places, want to do your own thing, and don't expect resort treatment or setting. Dennis is a nice guy who seems a bit brusque at first but as you talk more to him you see he's just one of those straightforward, direct kind of fellows. He has lived in Cozumel for 25 years, designed and built his own house and the rental units next door, so he has a lot of care and time into this place. He gave me a ride to the airport and had plenty of great suggestions for restaurants and neighborhood amenities, and that's about all we needed! Thanks Dennis. (~ Kyle Morrison, Seattle) -

Casa Deja Blue was a great place to stay for the Ironman Cozumel race. We were within walking distance to athlete Check-In and the Ironman Cozumel Finish Line. Chankanabb Park is a short 6K or 4 mile bike ride away and was very inexpensive by cab. Cabs can come directly to the property or be found around the corner at one of the local hotels. Located off the main traveled roads, the only noise that could keep you awake is the sound of the wind in the palm trees.
The suites were very clean and there were plenty of towels and linens. Hair dryers were provided in the bathrooms. The mattresses are firm but that did not keep me from getting a good night's sleep. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and utensils as well as a toaster, blender, and a coffee maker. Drinking water was provided in the kitchen.
The internet access came with a small additional charge and the availability of service was good. Property owner is on location and is very friendly. If you are looking for a quiet, economical, and centrally located place to stay for the race, look no further. -
