      Fantastic Digs!

Left on 02/20/2013 for a stay in February 2013

We arrived early and were accommodated by both the rental company and the housekeepers! They were professional, friendly and genuine. The house was clean, fully stocked and blew us all away. A lovely vacation home that leaves little to be desired. The housekeepers ensure that you have your privacy and clean each day that you require. Wonderful folks! We will most certainly entertain the idea of staying at Villa Las Uvas again, because we know we'll be in Cozumel on holiday a few more times!! Highly recommend going to Veradero Beach Bar next door (literally) and talking to Freddy. Good food, but unbelievable service! In this regard, Villa Las Uvas is PERFECTLY located!!

      Vacation Paradise!!

Left on 02/27/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Las Uvas!! It was just a ten minute drive to town on a quiet road across from a secluded beach. We were able to take walks on the road to Chankanaab State Marine Park where we swam with dolphins and snorkeled. We also snorkeled right across the road from Villa Las Uvas. The pool was sparkly clear and a great family place to gather. There were many nice restaurants nearby; a favorite was the Money Bar. We enjoyed many activities nearby such as Fly High (zipline), Tucan Sailing and Wild Adventures ATV tour in El Cedral. The highlight of our experience was the friendships we made with our wonderful cooks, Yeni and Ambrosio, and their four lovely children. The Mexican cuisine that they prepared for breakfast and lunch was beyond delicious. It was a great experience for our children to sample it as well as to interact with others who mainly speak Spanish to learn more about their culture. I would definitely recommend the cook service. This is the best place I have ever had the opportunity and priveledge to call home and I will be back!!

      Not a True Beachfront

Left on 01/11/2012 for a stay in October 2011

The pictures in the advertisement will lead you to belive you can walk right into the ocean from the Villa. Not true! We wanted to stay at a true beachfront villa and this is far from it. The "beach area" is all rocks and there was junk washing up on shore; including used toothbrushes, water bottles, plastic forks, a tire, etc. It was really disgusting and certainly should not qualifiy for beachfront. We had to leave the villa and find cleaner sandy beaches. The villa advertises being able to snorkel and kayak right in front. Once you get there, they warn you not to do so because of the boat traffic going by. There are plenty of other villas on Cozumel where you can get a clean and safe beachfront area, but this in not one of them.

The villa itself is beautiful on the inside and does have plenty of room. The pool is very nice. Just make sure the outside lights are turned on at night. It's impossible to see outside if they are not on.

      Cozumel 2010

Left on 02/22/2010 for a stay in February 2010

Overall enjoyed our stay at Las Uvas. Only complaints were the lack of a washer and dryer which I would expect at this price level and the bed linens were very cheap.
The location was away from the town which was nice but only a ten minute ride. There was a smell when we first arrived which smelled like a pesticide was sprayed but it eventually dissipated (or we got use to it).

Debbie J.'s review of Oceanview Villa with Private Pool. Cook Sv

Left on 07/14/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We really like the house, the pool and the location. The view is wonderful. The house is spacious and well appointed. Beautiful pool and patio with waterfall. We would suggest that pool towels be provided and a higher quality bath towels, linens and dishes. They provided one bath towel per guest per day and between the beach, the pool and showers we had to buy beach towels. Not what we have experienced at other top of the line houses. Kitchen supplies are definitely lacking, dishes are chipped, silverware is very low quality. Caretakers are very nice and helpful but don't speak much english. All in all, we would recommend this property!

Villa las Uvas March 15-22, 2009

Left on 04/08/2009 for a stay in March 2009

Overall, we loved our stay at Villa Las Uvas. Watching the sun set from the rooftop while eating homemade guacamole and drinking some cold Mexican beer was a highlight. Some of our frustrations were regarding the equipment in the house: the sound system when watching DVD's was horrible. The bass was so loud it was almost impossible to decipher what the actors were saying. In spite of our best efforts, we could not figure out how to adjust the bass. We also had difficulty with the refrigerator. It was only after 2-3 days that we realized you have to push the door closed rather firmly to get it to stay closed. The seal on the blender also was bad, resulting in a mess of margaritas on the floor.(Ambrosia did fix the blender). We did a fair amount of cooking/food prep in spite of the incredibly dull knives. I realize it's hard to keep expensive tools in a rental but at least cheap, sharp knives would be better than what we had. More door stops would be beneficial as the wind can cause some pretty loud door slams...Considering what we were paying for the week it would have been nice to have pillows with some loft. Ok, other than that, we loved our stay at Villa Las Uvas. Ambrosia and Ginny were wonderful, their children delightful. The pool was well maintained, the house accommodated the size of our group well (11 people). Pirates's Bar and Restaurant was a close, safe place for our teenagers to listen to music and hang out. We would recommend Villa Las Uvas to our friends...Kathleen Hoistad

      Villa Las Uvas is Fantastic!

Left on 01/06/2009 for a stay in January 2009

We stayed for a week at Villa Las Uvas with a family group of 7 of us. The house was better than what we could have possibly imagined! The location is also wonderful: right across from the beach but close to a few popular bars, restaurants, hotels and snorkel places. The people taking care of us were also fantastic and took care of us extremely well. BEWARE HOWEVER: We went on a fishing trip and caught a Barracuda and although the fisherguide "tested" it, we ate it and all came down with Ciguatera, a very serious toxin that put us in the mexican emergency room! Yikes. Do not risk eating reef fish in mexico, it was aweful.

What a beautiful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Las Uvas. The house was beautiful and the grounds very well kept. We all enjoyed the pool table, big screen tv with surround sound, and the pool. The cook service was delicious. Thanks for an unforgettable vacation.
