      Nice Place but needed help.

Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We recently stayed at this location with another family and two friends without kids. Upon arrival the house looked inviting and we were excited. However, once we settled in we started noticing a lot of issues with this location. It was not as clean as it first appeared. The rental company told us the location was cleaned two days before and the hot tub was serviced. This had to have been far from the truth. The floor was very dirty to were after only being there an hour I looked at my daughter socks and they were black on the bottom. There was cob webs in a lot of corners in the house. My mom ended up sweeping the stairs, which she swept up a pile of dirt. There was dead bugs in all the bathrooms and more bugs were found dead and alive throughout the five days we stayed. (When I called the management company about this their excuse was that it is cold outside and the bugs are trying to get warm, supposedly this happens in the mountains.) The towels smelled like mildew and I can only figure this is because the dryer was broken. We figured on the second day that the dryer was broken when it took three full cycles for the dryer to be fixed. The hot tub also did not get how and had a oil film on the surface. The company sent out someone to fix the dryer, they also were supposed to fix the hot tub. The dryer was fixed but the hot tub was not. We found a wrapped cigar on the floor in the kitchen which the kids thought was chocolate and almost opened. We do not smoke, it was not ours. There was food and dirt in the counch cushions. Which the on sofa was a pull out to sleep on but we ended up not using it because it was gross. The fridge leaked water from the freezer and we had to pour out water from our fridge container everyday. It makes me feel bad because this is a very nice place and it seems like whomever they are trusting to take care of this place is not doing a good job.

Response from Carolina Mountain Properties - 05/01/2013

      Carolina Mountain Properties

      Manager

Thank you for your review of the property. The issues that you discussed in your review will be addressed. We do experience bugs in the mountains that do try to enter warm places when it is cold outside. Cleaniness is one of our very high standards and what you described about the pull out couch and the other issues are unacceptable and will be addressed with our cleaning supervisor. We do offer to send someone out to clean the property if it is not properly cleaned. We will address and correct these issues immediately.

I loved this cabin... it has the most amazing view and is so scenic. From the moment I initially made my reservation to the questions I asked later...the representative I spoke to was so nice and informative. Paradise Retreat has all the amenities that one could ask for and more. The pool table was a much used game feature that the whole family enjoyed,as well as the gaming system and the whirlpool. The wrap around balcony has spectacular views from all angles, you feel as though you are part of nature.I loved this cabin. I enjoyed everything about this cabin and plan on making future reservations there.

Beautiful views, secluded location, lovely cabin!

Left on 03/25/2010 for a stay in October 2009

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. It was well-maintained and had such beautiful views from all sides! It was also very kid friendly featuring a "reading nook" which was just their size!

One thing to mention, this cabin does not have a fireplace (which I neglected to notice when I booked - so that was my fault). It does have a GREAT pool table and a really nice hot tub on the lower deck.

If a fireplace isn't a must-have, then I would highly recommend this cabin!!!
