Cabin was great. secluded, on the river, peaceful, pleasant. We could fish, cook, enjoy the hot tub, or just sit on the deck and read. Good location near the Jeffersons, Todd, and Boone. Highly recommended.

This was one of the most relaxing cabins we have ever stayed in. No internet, very little cell phone service, beautiful scenery all made for the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. The cabin is small but has everything you need. We were there for 7 days and were ready to stay for more.
We love this cabin because it is right on the New River

We come to this cabin every year. It is the perfect size for 2 people. It has a large bedroom with lots of cabinet space, a den that is cozy, and the kitchen area is just right. We love the large patio. It is right on the New River and we watch the people in canoes, cayakes, etc. come right by us. Many of them stop to talk. The thing we enjoy most is that you can hear the river all of the time. The cabin is also close to shopping and any activities that we enjoy doing while in the mountains.
Carolina Mountain Properties is an important part of booking the right cabin for us. They know what our needs are and if we want to try other cabins they suggest ones that we would enjoy.

The first time we rented this cabin was in 2009 on our 1 year anniversary. Every year we try to stay here for our anniversary. We enjoy the river and the back deck and spend most of our time outside. We do love the inside as well and have been very comfortable.
We love this cabin and by far, is the best we have ever stayed with Carolina Mountain Properties.
I noticed it was for sale last time we stayed and I hope that it will still be available for rent by any future owners as well.

This was our 3rd time renting this property. We've always loved it. The property and it's surroundings have a way of making you feel relaxed and at home. I hope my next trip here can be a longer stay.
The place is kind of small and nothing is fancy but that's not said to be a negative, rather just to give facts. Love the way the cabin is decorated and love the back deck and the hot tub. Wish this place were mine.

Everything was wonderful except the neighbor on his lawn mower. For some reason, he needed to mow the driveway beside our vehicle and threw rocks and dust all over it. This really upset my husband and took quite a while to convince him to enjoy our stay. The next day was very relaxing and we stayed an extra day. We were told this was a private location, but consider this no better than semi private.

we loved the closeness of the water... and it snowing...and cold made it more true to mts.
loved the area of west jefferson.
I felt it was a little to much for only one bath and 1 bedroom..althought they had sofa sleeper.
otherwise we loved it there... would like to come back to the exact one.. but like I said it was a lttle to high for the non..extras.. no indoor Jazcuzi..(sp) and small for the price.. but was neat, clean and comfortable

We arrived late and had no problems, the key was left in the lockbox for us.The cabin was really cozy and nice. It had everything that we needed in the kitchen. I cooked breafast, made sandwiches for our picnic, and steak dinners for supper. We sat on the back deck right on the river and enjoyed peaceful surroundings. It was everything we hoped for. The only negatives would be if you were "high maintenance" because it was an old cabin but it was exactly what we expected, a quaint, little cabin on the river. If i could change anything it would be to have a bigger shower. It is a stand up "phone booth" style, not very big, bumped my elbows quite a bit, could not be used by a fat person(no offense to over weight guests). I have since told numerous people and would go back again!
Wedding Anniversary stay at A Cabin On The River!!

My husband and I stayed in A Cabin On The River for our 1st Wedding Anniversary around the end of September, 2007. We enjoyed our peaceful and quite stay by the river with the beautiful Mountains all around. My husband loved getting up in the morning and throwing a fishing line in the water. He so enjoyed catching fish in the river. I enjoyed the cabin's hot-tub. We enjoyed touring around the Mountains during the day. We took a tour of the nearby Cheese factory and local shops. We toured Grandfather Mountain and the Swinging Bridge. We toured the town of Boone. We enjoyed our stay so much. The following year, around the end of September, 2008, I returned alone to stay in A Cabin On The River. My husband had been murdered just 5 months before. I wanted to return to the same cabin where we enjoyed our 1st anniversary to celebrate our 2nd anniversary alone with the wonderful memories. A Cabin On The River will always hold a special place in my heart, because of the wonderful memories I shared with my husband there on our 1st anniversary.

We stayed at this cabin on our 1 year anniversary. I also happened to be 8 months pregnant with our son Ryder. We had been to several cabins through Carolina Mountain Properties in the past, but this was our favorite! We liked that we could fish in the New River right in the back yard! We loved the decor and pretty much everything about the cabin and the huge back deck was a plus since we spend most of our time grilling out..
We will definitely be coming back very soon!
One thing I would like to mention. We make sure to get a cabin that has a hot tub every time we have stayed with Carolina Mt Properties. We love to relax in the hot tub! On our first day there, maintenance had showed up and put chemical in the hot tub. That night when we got in the hot tub, it had so much chemical in it that our eyes were burning the first minute we sat in it. 5 minutes after that we could hardly breathe the chemicals were so strong. So, we got out. The next day it was still just as powerful. So, we did not get to take advantage of the hot tub and hope that next time it is maintenanced before our stay and not during.
