Burlington, VermontHome away from home

The aussie Suite was a great home away from home. Literally, it had everything we needed for the duration of our stay! The aussie is in a perfect location, not too close to town but not to far way either. It's about a half mile from the Westin, where you can use all of the amenities (pool, bar, restaurant, etc.). We were kindly met and welcomed at the St. John ferry dock, where we were then escorted to the aussie Suite. The aussie had amazing outdoor showers, a cozy bedroom, washer/dryer, and fully equipped kitchen with access to an outdoor grill. In addition they provide all the necessities you may need, including towels, snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and kayaks. We would highly recommend staying at the aussie during your visit to St. John!

Leesburg, VALoved St. John!

Our family stayed at the aussie Suite for our spring break "adventure" this year, and we had a wonderful time on the island! Upon arriving on the ferry from St. Thomas, and after a long day of traveling, it was great to see some friendly faces in Steve and Lisa, the caretakers who greeted us at the dock. From there, they took us to our rental car, showed us grocery stores and places to eat/drink, and led us to the house where they gave us a tour. It really got our trip off to a good start and helped us to feel at home!
The accommodations were very nice. The kitchenette allowed us to have breakfast at the house every morning, and to pack lunch for our beach trips most days (using the cooler provided). It was also nice to be able to come back to the house at the end of the day and have a home cooked meal instead of going out every night. The washer/dryer was great and we definitely could have packed less knowing how easy it was to keep on top of the laundry during the week.
Snorkeling gear (for 2), plenty of beach towels, and beach chairs were also provided at the house, all of which made our beach day trips easier. Our kids loved the proximity to the beach, and we were able to send them down to the water to explore and play (it's literally steps from the house!) The beach is pretty rocky, but our kids loved climbing and observing the sea life (snails, sea urchins, tons of coral). Besides, with the rental car, we explored plenty of beaches throughout the island and then could come back to our "home base". Some of our favorite day trips included visits to Cinnamon Bay and Hawksnest Bay beaches, the Cinnamon Bay nature trail, exploring the annaberg sugar mill ruins, and a drive to Coral Bay (and eating at Miss Lucy's, which was so good we made a repeat visit!) Waterlemon Cay also offered great snorkeling where we saw sea turtles, a stingray, and a huge star fish!
I recommend the aussie Suite to anyone headed on a St. John adventure!

The aussie Suite is a wonderful place to stay! Easy access to the ocean for kayaking, plenty of room, great views, and even plenty of iguanas to meet you at the door in the mornings sunning themselves! Short drive to downtown Cruz Bay, and everyone is very friendly!!! Wonderful place to come for vacation!

Burlington, VTOur Perfect Stay at the aussie Suite!
Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in April 2012
If you're considering staying at the aussie during your time on St. John - book your stay without further hesitation. The villa and grounds of the aussie are very accurately described. We could not have asked for a better fit for us. Having our own kitchen allowed us to make breakfast in the mornings and lunches to take with us. The washer/dryer were an added bonus for us and would allow us to pack even more lightly on our next visit! The grounds of the property were well maintained. The villa, grounds, outdoor showers, hot tub, etc. were all very clean. There were plenty of clean towels and sheets available as well.
We were happy with the customer service we received from the owners of the aussie (John) prior to our vacation and we were well taken care of the entire time we were on the island by the property managers. Steve & Lisa met us at the ferry upon our arrival and were happy to take us around the downtown area to point out their own favorite spots for dinner, drinks, etc. before taking us to the villa. They were available throughout our stay and ready and willing to help with anything we needed. The owners were open to any input we had to make the property even better - though there wasn't much at all that we could come up with - and have already gotten back to us in regards to our suggestions such as shared use of the hot tub between the two units on the property!
We had everything we could possibly want or need at the villa and the downtown area and beautiful beaches were all very close to the property. We spent much of our time snorkeling at the property or nearby beaches! We also enjoyed nearby restaurants in the evenings. The aussie was the perfect location for everything we hoped to do and see on the island!
We have already been in touch with John about staying at the aussie Suite again this year and would highly recommend the aussie to anyone looking for a wonderful stay on St. John!
Thanks again,
-Jackie & Luke
