You'll want for nothing in our luxurious penthouse in the heart of centro historico! This fully remodeled three bedroom, three bathroom apartment features the best in location, luxury and livability. You'll be on top of the world in this 5th floor penthouse which features unobstructed city and mountain views from the huge terrace as well as direct elevator access. The dual master bedrooms include the highest quality king beds with fine linens, 32" LED televisions, a jacuzzi tub for 2 and a wood burning fireplace. The third bedroom features 2 luxuriously appointed twin pillow tops and a desk. The living area has a 42" plasma TV with Direct TV,... Blu-Ray and large DVD library. The apartment includes every convenience such as paper towels, a toaster, filtered water and shampoo, as well as luxuries like blowdryers, robes, a dishwasher and a laptop. Location. There is no better location in Cuenca! We are on Luis Cordero, the same street as the main central plaza Parque Calderon, just 2 blocks from the plaza between it and the Tomebamba river. Watch parades or fireworks right from the huge terrace! We are surrounded by the best restaurants in town, open air markets, churches, plazas, bars, cafes and theaters. You can walk from this central location to pretty much anywhere you may want to go, without climbing stairs. If you want to leave the historic center or river area, taxis are readily available on our street and bus stops are nearby.

Luxury. Enjoy all the comforts of home and more in our finely appointed home. One master suite has views and terrace access, with a modern bathroom plus a jacuzzi tub for 2 in a rock walled alcove and a large flat-screen TV. The other master suite has charming colonial decor with a huge rock and granite wood-burning fireplace and bathroom with dual sinks. Both master suites feature king sized beds of the highest quality and comfort available, featuring a full 4 inches of memory foam pillowtop on a supportive orthopedic core. They also include private bathrooms with showers, bathrobes, bowl sinks and granite. The third bedroom is rustic with two comfortable twin beds, views and terrace access. All beds feature a choice between 500 thread count cotton or warmer microfleece linens, as well as fluffy down or down alternative comforters with duvets and blankets. All three bedrooms and the living room feature vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams. The social bathroom has a glass block shower, toilet, sink with granite and even a urinal. The gourmet kitchen features granite, a dishwasher, 6 burner stove and oven, microwave and large fridge with filtered water and ice in the door. The Living room has a soft comfortable sectional and a 42" LG plasma TV with a huge video library and direct TV. The entire apartment includes a terrace with unobstructed 5th floor views over centro, including a breakfast bar overlooking the new cathedral.

Livability. Our home is cleaned to a strict standard between each set of visitors, and cleaned and stocked according to a checklist, so that you can rest assured that you'll have a wonderful stay free of the common pitfalls of stays in a foreign country. The kitchen is equipped with all of the dinnerware, cookware, silverware and barware you will need, plus small and large appliances. We provide paper towels, sugar, salt, pepper, coffee and tea. The towels are plush and plentiful and we provide thick toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and blow dryers in each of the three bathrooms. We provide 2 huge flat-screen televisions, one smaller flat-screen TV, all with direct TV, a huge video library, high-speed wireless internet, and even a brand new 17" laptop so that you can leave your computer at home! We also provide a local cell phone and a home phone. The building has an elevator straight to our door that only services 3 apartments, so you won't have to climb any stairs like in most centro homes, or even wait for a busy elevator like in a high rise. The building is very secure with a friendly guard from morning to night. When the guard isn't there, you are behind 3 locked metal doors. The apartment is quiet as it is 5 stories up, with dual-paned glass throughout and no walls are shared with any neighbors. There are just 2 other residences, and the rest of the building is occupied by offices, mostly law offices. If you have a rental car, there is a parking lot next door. If you have more than 6 people, there is an extra double mattress to sleep two more, and a dining room table for 8. For your comfort, all rooms have black-out curtains, there are portable heaters, a wood burning and an electric fireplace, a double electric blanket, and extra pillows and blankets, and unlimited hot water.   We stayed here with our in-laws and our son and we were not disappointed! This place is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, and right in the center of town. We have stayed in many places in Cuenca and one thing that caught our attention is how quiet this apartment is. They put special windows in that cut the city sound down quite a bit. This is a great place to stay for that special occasion! In fact we hope to stay there for our 25th anniversary.

  A great experience from the moment we booked the apartment until we were ready to go. The owners and apartment caretaker are professional, conscientious, and are very helpful. The apartment is a dream. Completely comfortable, perfect location (a few minutes walk to the city center, restaurants and cafes all around, museums nearby, and the lovely river trail just a moments walk away) and has all of the modern needs for your stay in Cuenca.

  Wonderful Penthouse in Center of Cuenca

  We stayed March 2nd to March 14th. The location is as described in downtown Cuenca. You are blocks aways from many attractions and wonderful places to eat. It fun to walk across the street each monoring and buy breakfast breads and sit on the large balcony and start the day with a cup of coffee. The interior finish of the penthouse is first rate. We made meals in the well appointed kitchen. The three bedrooms are large and the beds were confortable. A great place for 2 couples to share or a family. The manager Beverly was wonderful checking in to see how we were doing and answering our questions. The unit is on the forth floor overlooking downtown Cuenca. Private eleavator to the penthouse floor. Loved the washer and dryer as we were able to pack lighter as we could wash our clothes. The noise level inside the unit was quiet as the outside glass was very thick cutting down the outside distraction. Drivers love to use their horns. The beautiful main park was 2 blocks away. If you are going to use the kitchen markets are just a $2.00 cab ride. I must also mention the building security person Luis was also wonderful. Each day he greeted us as we went and came back to the entrance. The big thing we loved was the space of the unit compared to staying in a hotel room. Nice open floor plan and very relaxed place to stay and enjoy Cuenca. One block away a local bar with 2X1 Bloddy Mary's starting at 8:00 a.M. Cuenca is a wonderful city to visit and the relaxed feeling in the Penthouse added to the experience. The food in Cuenca was just great from a large lunch for $2.25 to the best places for $12.00. The local people are wonderful and the city felt safe. Take normal steps as you would in any city. Do not dress with flash and do not wear a lot of jewlery. Keep your cell phone secure, wallet in your front pocket. Take just enough money for the day. Staying in this Penthouse will add a very positive experience while in Cuenca

We also had our favorite places when we lived in the penthouse, but now you make me want to return and try eating the fresh-baked bread on the terrace or perhaps in a picnic by the nearby river. I'm glad we could make your stay as comfortable as possible, and that you enjoyed the central location, elevator, plush beds, stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and acoustic control windows. You are right about the horns in Cuenca, and there are also car alarms, roosters, and barking dogs depending on your area. Replacing the windows ended up being a huge challenge in the UNESCO heritage area, so I'm glad to hear that the new windows enhanced your experience. I'm sure your tips and suggestions will come in handy for our future guests.
