We would Recommend this B&B; in a heartbeat

Left on 05/02/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We were given the warmest of welcomes by Elaine and David and shown around the B&B; which includes a beautiful guest lounge with open fire, dining area and library to enjoy at your leisure. Our room was large and comfortable and the breakfast was fab, including fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and a cooked breakfast. It really does feel like a little home from home, Elaine and David even kindly offered to drive us to the local McGrorys at night. We both had an excellent time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

      Beautiful accommodation: Excellent Hosts

Left on 10/01/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We arrived to the smell of home made scones, Elaine offered tea and scones to my partner and I, we wanted to make the most of our time and head to one of the many glorious beaches near by and Elaine kindly offered to pack a flask and scones to allow us to enjoy them on the beach. The accommodation was beautiful, the bed was very comfortable and the decor very tasteful. Breakfast was perfect and Elaine and David were excellent hosts for the duration of our stay. The location is out standing, I would have no hesitations in recommending Inishfree Bed & Breakfast.

      Magnificent

Left on 08/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012

I took my mum back to her roots up north, I was after booking for one night we got a lovely warm welcome on arrival, Elaine then showed us around the house(Wow what a house..beautiful design..spotlessly clean) and Dave offered to carry our bags .After the first night we extended our stay we were so happy there the house and setting were absolutely perfect. The breakfast was divine ...fresh fruit platter filtered coffee and full Irish I couldnt eat for the rest of the day!!!.Elaine printed maps and recommended shops to view in Derry. We were offered a flask for our journey and Elaine really accomadated for my mum as she is a bad diabetic and needed to eat before she went to bed and all our need were granted,I couldnt have asked for anymore.I have stayed in a lot of hotels through my job and half of them would not have come close to this.If you are thinking of travelling on the" Inishowen 100" I would not go beyond Inishfree B&B; it really ticks all the boxes. Thanks Elaine and Dave for making our trip so special we will be back!!!

      "To good to be true?"

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

”To good to be true?” That was what we thought when we read the excellent reivews of Inishfree B&B.; But to our great pleasure, all the positive assessment was truly justified. We stayed at the Inishfree for four days in July 2012, and they were without any doubt the finest four days we have spent in similar accommodations anywhere in Ireland. And we have stayed in a lot of country houses, B&Bs;, small hotels, etc. The attention given us by the hosts Elaine and Dave was remarkable in every way - not just with respect to the excellent accommodations and food, but also with regard to local knowledge, advice as to where to go and what to see, and even contacting local people to help us with some very tricky ancestral research. We stayed in the Green Room, with its own sitting area and privacy, and have never experienced such a high level of modern and tasteful furnishing before. The breakfast were also first-class - and we were lucky enough to have Elaine prepare an evening meal for us also. So fellow travellers, read the reviews and recognise an exceptional opportunity to anchor your trip to Inishowen an extremely nice home, tended to by extremely nice people! And yes - it's all true!

      Perfection in every way.

Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We received a warm welcome from our hosts Elaine and Dave with a bonus of homemade scones with cream and jam! Their b&b; is excellent, equipped with everything you might need including an umbrella and a torch. The breakfasts are first class as are the evening meals. The views from Inishree are unsurpassable. The local hostelry McGrory's has a good menu and great atmosphere. Elaine and Dave were also very helpful in advising us of the many places to visit in the area. We can certainly recommend a visit to this unspoilt area of Southern Ireland.

      “Undiscovered Peaceful Bliss”

Left on 04/28/2012 for a stay in August 2011

Whichever way you decide to travel to Innisfree you come across spectacular sights. Whether it is landing in Derry, with a high cross wind looking like you will touch down in the estuary or by car across Ireland and its mountains. The welcome that you receive as you come to the door is warm and you start to relax as you pass over the threshold.

Elaine and David, it is true, treat you like royalty and care for you with attention and sensitivity. Try Elaine's cooking - a feast fit for a King and beautifully presented. David is the waiter and maître de in the morning and a full "Irish" is certainly a must.
The rooms are individual, with every personal need cared for; slippers, robes, ironing facilities, hair dryer, hot drink facility, TV and on and on! Each room has its' own theme and is treated with the same care as you are as you arrive.

The countryside is a must to explore - blue flag beaches that are so quiet that if you see another couple you feel that it is crowded. But with miles of pristine beaches it is hard to imagine. The locals are friendly and helpful and there are some of the most spectacular places of natural beauty, from Malin Head to the Giant's Causeway (over the border).

We flew to Derry and hired a car - easy. We were very comfortable in this lovely home and were made very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent. It is a good place to be based as there is a lot to see in this very beautiful part of the world.
