We had a great stay here. It was very clean and very well stocked with items for cooking, shampoo, soap, etc... Beth was very friendly, helpful, and accessible; she helped us out with getting to the early ferry. The back porch area is screened in, which was great to keep out the bugs. We would definitely stay here again.

Durango, ColoradoPerfect for exploring Culebra
Left on 04/22/2013 for a stay in April 2013
This was a perfect spot for our family of 4 (2 kids, 9 & 11) to base for a great week on Culebra. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but close to everything, and convenient to all beaches. Beth has everything you need for exploring the island, beach time & snorkeling. Perfect spot if you want to cook most of your meals and enjoy the evenings after a day of action. We loved this place, highly recommend it, & would return in a heartbeat.

The Dragonfly doesn't boast lots of new amenities or an oceanside view, but it was the perfect place for our family that was looking for a comfortable and spacious place to experience Culebra. Beth went to great lengths to ensure our stay was a pleasant one.

This rental was in a perfect location easy to get to & close to everything while being secluded & quiet, providing the comforts of home & the joys of a vacation spot. The hammock in the sun room overlooking much of the island & ocean was my morning routine. Each room was perfect, clean, comfortable, & inviting. Having a wrap around veranda with outdoor shower & laundry machines was amazing. There was a driveway for us to park making it easy for us to travel with many bags, coolers, and whatnot needed for our daily activities. There was snorkeling gear, beach toys, chairs, towels, even sun block available. The rental was equipped with everything you wanted & with items you didn't even know you needed. The service we received was impeccable & we wanted for nothing more. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and would definitely come back.

Left on 03/17/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Fabulous and fun family vacation in dreamy Culebra. The Dragonfly Inn offered clean, comfortable and roomy accommodations for my family of 4. The full kitchen made it convenient to cook breakfast and pack daily lunches for the beach - nearby grocery stores sell everything you need. The screened in porch made coffee in the morning something to look forward to. Beth, the owner of Dragonfly Inn, is wonderful. She is very warm and friendly to her guests and incredibly accommodating to your schedule. She provides snorkeling gear, towels, and beach chairs for the daytime and movies and books for a relaxing evening. We didn't want to leave the Dragonfly Inn.

We stayed three nights and 4 days at Dragonfly Inn. The apartment was very clean and has everything you need to feel like home, away from your home. Beth also provides all you need to enjoy the beach (towels, cooler, snorkel, etc). I visit Culebra almost annualy since 1986 and had stay at diverse hotels, inns and apartments. Since my last visit, Dragonfly Inn became my first option to stay in Culebra.

Minneapolis, MNPerfect place to stay during our relaxing trip to Culebra
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We (4 adults) stayed at the Dragonfly Inn earlier this summer. It was the perfect place from which to explore and enjoy the beautiful island of Culebra. The apartment was very clean and comfortable for 4 adults. The beach supplies Beth provided (cooler, towels, snorkel gear etc.) was also a big bonus for us. The apartment is located in a quiet neighborhood and, as Beth describes, is about 1 mile from town, so if you don't mind a bit of walking it is certainly feasible to walk into town for dinner at night (we did this). Beth wasn't able to meet us when we arrived on the island but she arranged for her friend Lori to pick us up from the airport. Lori took us on a wonderful tour of town and gave us great tips on restaurants, best place to purchase groceries, gas station, ATM location etc. The orientation was very helpful. All in all, the Dragonfly is exactly as described and made for a wonderful place to stay during our trip to Culebra. We had an amazing trip and cannot wait to return. I would highly recommend this location to others.

My family (5 adults) stayed at Dragonfly Inn earlier this summer and had a wonderful time. The villa is clean and comfortable with all of the necessary kitchen supplies and beach amenities including towels, snorkel gear, cooler etc. The villa is centrally located, but not really within walking distance of town. We rented a jeep, so we didn't try using the publicos. It was easy to get to town and all of the beautiful beaches.
Beth was a delight to work with - she answered many questions in advance of our visit and was available on site during our stay.
You definitely have to be in the island mindset when you visit Culebra, especially during non-peak season. On our first night, we had a hard time finding a restaurant that was open for dinner. Next time we will use the Homeless Dog Cafe for our non-weekend dinners - great food with delivery to the villa, perfect! We can't wait to go back. -

I can't say much more positive than those who already have. It's a great place to stay and Beth is very welcoming. A few points. It is helpful to have a car, at least if you want to go to the beaches often. There are planes taking off now and then, but they are in no way objectionable; we were not bothered at all by them. If you like home-made bread, hot sauce and good conversation the Island Woman is usually just around the corner on the main road on Tuesdays and Fridays (I think) sitting under her umbrella, but get there early as the stock sells out quickly. When we go back to Culerbra again Beth's place is the only one we'll consider staying.

We just finished a week staying at Beth's Dragonfly Inn in Culebra and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Beth was incredibly welcoming and helpful, from the moment we booked the house with her until she dropped us off at the airport to go home. The house is very clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for the week. The kitchen is well equipped, the rooms are airy and light, and there is a great book, movie, and game selection, a wonderful screened in porch with a hammock, and a closet full of beach and snorkel equipment. We didn't rent a car while we were here, and were fine getting around the island on foot and by publico (taxi). However, you could also rent a car, and easily park it in the driveway. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, and there is a small grocery store a few blocks away. Be sure to check out the veggie man who comes to town on Fridays if you are planning to cook your meals. The house was a perfect fit for two couples (and could also easily a family), and we hope to come back again! Beth has done an amazing job of making the house a home away from home, and was a kind and thoughtful host, giving us an orientation to the island and all kinds of insider tips (i.e. the veggie man), but also very respectful of our space and privacy. I couldn't recommend this house more!

I just finished a month's holiday staying at the Dragonfly Inn and couldnt have been more pleased.
It was exactly what I needed and for what I was looking. Beth was the perfect host..never bothering unless I needed something and then immediately there. The property was very clean and well furnished with everything I could have needed...her snorkel gear was better than what I had dragged down.
My only regret was leaving and having to get back to work and leave this relaxing home and laid back island.
Beth has stocked the property with books and games and dvds that were excellent, plus the WiFi network was so helpful for me to keep in touch while gone. A note...the island has a wireless network that fluctuates often and, like electricity, occasionally goes out...but that's the island, not the Inn's issue.
The sounds of the barrio will be missed ... along with the beaches and people there.
Beth's place is not only just as advertised, but a great value for the price. -

We had a wonderful experience staying in the 2BR/1Ba unit - it was very clean, well-maintained, and generally perfect for a vacation stay. Manager Beth was very nice and friendly.
While it lacked some of the basics I would typically expect (local/land-line phone, internet, cable tv), we didn't really miss those as we were on the island for vacation and were happy to be away from those distractions. To keep guests from getting bored, there is a nice collection of books, board games, and a small tv/dvd player and a few movies on DVD provided. Since most of our time was spent out exploring the island, those were plenty sufficient for us. The screened porch with its comfy chairs and hammock made for relaxing evenings.
The main drawback is the location - it is situated near the small airfield and directly in the flight path - so bring earplugs or expect to be startled awake by very low-flying prop planes when the daily (but fairly infrequent) flights begin by 6am. Expect to hear lots of dogs roosters, too (but that will be true anywhere near the town). Aside from being in a generally noisy location, this place was really a gem.
Also, the power went out for the entire island during our stay. Beth stopped by to check on us and offered a flashlight and a few candles. While she said this is not a particularly common occurrence, it left us with very limited options in the evening. Fortunately, there is a convenience store just 2 blocks away that has backup generators, so they were able to remain open and we scrounged our dinner from there. This was very handy as we were not sure if any restaurants would be operating (ones we tried were not answering their phones, so we assumed they were closed until the power was restored). I would highly recommend that any guests on the island be prepared with at least some basic snacks/provisions.
Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we return to Culebra. -

To make a trip exceed your expectations, it helps when the owner of the house you vacation at, such as Beth in this case, is extremely friendly and helpful to your needs. The house is located in a convenient area, not far from the town to take a walk or grab a bite to eat. While staying in this house, we went kayaking which was a fun filled experience. The layout of the house gives you that homey feeling while yet in paradise. Puerto Rico is a beautiful and relaxing place to go to, and by staying at this house my family got to have the full remarkable experience of what this island has to offer.

Kennebunkport, MeWhat a perfect home away from home.
Left on 04/03/2011 for a stay in March 2011
I have to start by saying that right from the very beginning Beth, the owner, made all the difference in the world. Besides being a wonderful person she goes over and beyond the call of duty to help her guest feel right at home.
My son (who's a freshman in college) and I traveled to Culebra for spring break and this apartment couldn't have been more perfect. Located within an easy walk or 'Publico' drive to town and several beaches, this immaculately clean apartment was just right for us. Travis had a choice of bed or hammock, so he did both during the week. The beds are all very comfortable.
The kitchen has everything you need and more. Full size refrigerator is nice if you need to buy lots of food. Nice sized shower with good water pressure. And the screened in porch is a nice place to begin or end your day (that is of course, if Travis isn't laid out in the hammock). Beth has a very nice collection of books, movies, puzzles and games as well, so entertaining young and old isn't a problem. Although honestly, if you have as great a week as we did you're too tired at the end of the day to worry about any further entertainment.
Culebra is not an island for anyone looking for a resort experience. This is a beach bums paradise. We snorkeled for five days straight. Not including 2 days travel we had 5 whole days of great underwater sights. We saw everything from sea turtles and sting rays to a multitude of gorgeous tropical fish and coral. We snorkeled Flamenco Beach, Tamarindo Beach, Culebrita Island, Luis Pena Reserve, Punta Soldado and ended with the best day ever at Melones Beach. We also visited Zoni and Brava beaches. As I said, beach bum paradise.
Instead of the ferry back we took a prop plane. Travis' first! It was the best ending.
If you go to Culebra make it a point to visit the island museum, well worth the trip.
I would highly recommend both Culebra and Beth's 'Las Palmas' apartment to anyone looking for a wonderful experience.
