If you have had a negative experience with rental homes on your vacation, worry no more. Anne Marie was the most gracious and helpful person with regards to giving information about the shopping, beaches, and anything else you would want to know about this wonderful island. Be rest assured that you can trust in this listing. If you have any issues or problems, Anne Marie is sure to take care of anything. The only problem we experienced was a power outage in one of the rooms. However, the problem was fixed immediately once we had notified her. Truly, she is one of the best people to make your vacation a comfortable one.
With regards to the home, the home is very large and spacious with enough room for a large family and many more. The beds were comfortable and we always had a good nights rest. The best thing about the home was the location and the pool. The location of the home is in a very safe and luxurious section of the island. We felt very relaxed and at home in this area. Furthermore, the home is close to many of the major grocery stores on the island and you're only a couple minutes drive away from the main beach of Jan Theil. After a day on the beach, it was nice to come home and relax outside on the patio while we looked at the best view of the entire island and watched our teenagers splash around in the pool. Those memories of the amazing view and our children enjoying the pool will be forever engraved into my mind. All in all, the home was well worth it and we enjoyed this island and the location of the home very much. Definitely a luxurious listing. -

Villa Papilon is an outstanding property in a great location. It is in Jan Thiel which gives you access to a wonderful beach as well as restaurants. The owner anne-Marie was very kind and gracious. She made sure to provide us a map and information regarding attractions and a grocery store. The villa has a full kitchen and outside grill which allows you to prepare your own meals. The view from the pool is breathtaking and it really makes you want to spend all of your time at the villa lounging and enjoying the sun. We were so impressed with our experience and the villa that we are planning to return this year. Five stars.

Villa Papilon is a great place for a large group. The villa was very spacious and exceeded our expectations. The pool had perfect views and the beach was a 2 minute drive away. There was enough space for a large group to have fun and enjoy each other and still have their own space as well. Anne-Marie was very helpful with everything. I would recommend this place to anyone. The pictures do not serve the villa justice, it was beyond great!

I do not think that words will be able to accurately capture my excitement! I stayed at the villa over the Easter holiday with 11 of my closest friends (including my boyfriend). I am sure many of not all of my friends will be leaving raving reviews so please check theirs out as well.
I must admit we were a little nervous that the villa would not look as great as the pictures but it was even better! Our expectations were vastly exceeded. The villa was absolutely beautiful. It was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything that we needed to have a perfect vacation. The furniture and the artwork made the villa very luxurious yet homey and comfortable. The neighborhood was very quite and we were surrounded by other amazing villas.
The location was ideal. We were very close (2 mins) to the Jan Thiel beach, local restaurants, and yacht ports for boat tours and snorkeling. We were about 15-20mins from Downtown, the airport, Hato Caves, and Curacao Factory. However, a rent-a-car is a must. And do not forget to get a GPS you will need it.
Anne-Marie was very accessible through the entire rental process. We were able to easily get in contact with her whenever we had any questions. She was very hospitable and even left a binder filled with all types of information to help us have a great stay.
I highly recommend this villa for large groups of friends and families or a romantic getaway for couples. Its just perfect all-around. My friends and I had a great time and my boyfriend and I had a great anniversary all at the same time. -

Stayed here over the Easter holiday with several of my college friends. We were a rather big group, 12 persons, however this house was more than enough to accomodate us. Anne-Marie was so helpful. She provided us with a booklet of information on suggested places to eat and visit.
Regarding the place, the pictures of the site does not do it any justice. The house is way more Fabulous in person! For one whole day, we just lounged around the house. The views were spectacular. I highly suggest for everyone to view the sunrise at least one day while vacationing here. A real treat.
We rented several cars with GPS (a definite must), however everything we wanted to do was close enough, so we didn't mind traveling to tour the island. I would also suggest checking out the Jan Thiel beach for a day.
Overall, great stay, great hospitality, and definitely a great value for your money. Would definitely stay again if I come back.

When you deal with honest and respectful people nothing can go wrong, this was exactly the case, Mrs. Anne Marie is a dedicated hostess who made our stay better than we expected. The neighborhood of JanThiel is a very nice area, near (three or four blocks away)is one of the most famous and "chic" beaches of the island (papagayo) wich is also a mall.
It is necesary to rent a car, the house is exactly like you see on the pictures, in person is even better I personally believe.
The architectural style of the house is a nice mixture of tropical-classic-modern line. also the art pieces inside are something quite interesting to enjoy.
Highly recommended for every kind of tourist, no matter where you come from this place have a lot of things to offer and in my case we always felt confortable during our stay. -

My friends rented the villa to accommodate themselves along with 6 guests for their wedding. The house had more than enough room for the eight of us with plenty of space to spread out. The view from the pool overlooking the Spanish Waters was amazing! Anne-Marie was extremely welcoming and helpful, providing maps and tips on the best places to visit.

I have just came back from a 8 days holiday in Curaçao, and must admit that having Villa Papilon has been on of the keys of succes for our holidays.
Very nice house with lots of space and a wonderfull pool overlooking the Spanish Waters.

Perfect stay, absolute luxury and privacy. I liked the Jan Thiel area the best, it was closely situated near restaurants and alongside beautiful Spanish Water.

My husband and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary at Villa Papilon with 8 other people. As soon as we walked into the front door, we felt that we were at home.
(1) Hospitality - Anne-Marie was very welcoming. There was food for a barbecue in the refrigerator as well as wine. She walked us through the house and told us how to utilize items such such as the dishwasher, washer, television, and air conditioners. The power went out one day causing all of our ice to melt and our food to spoil. Anne-Marie provided us with a cooler full of meat and wine to replace anything we lost. The power outage was no fault of her own; yet, she was a gracious host and provided us with replacements.
(2) Location - We rented a 12 passengager van for our guests. We were about 25 minutes from the airport and 10-15 minutes from Willemstad. Once we learned our way, it was a very easy route. We were only 5 minutes from Best Buy Supermarket. The prices were reasonable when compared to U.S. prices. Anne-Marie offered great directions. For our morning exercise, many of us walked to Jan Thiel beach - 20 minute walk. While there were a few hills in the neighborhood, this added to our cardio activities and we loved it!
(3) Amenities - The house was more than sufficient for our needs. The grill, rooms, kitchen, and living areas were clean and comfortable. The wireless internet was perfect since many of us on the trip own our own business or teach online courses where the web was a must. Our favorite part of the home was the pool. It was large enough for all of us and the lights at night created a wonderful ambiance.
In sum, we absolutely loved Villa Papilon. Everyone agreed that on our next holiday to Curacao, there is no other place to stay! Because of anne-Marie's kindness, we purchased a guest book for guests to write about their vacation in the home and in Curacao. Stay here and tell of your wonderful experiences at this amazing villa! -

This villa is located on top of a hill in Jan Thiel area. This means a (rental) car is not only recommend, but an absolute necessity. But when you arrive at the house, everything is absolutely worth it. Big, spacious rooms, including a large living area with plenty of interesting local art work and a large, clean kitchen area. All that comes with a spacious terrace, a sun deck and a pool. I really enjoyed my morning coffee on the sunny terrace with a stunning view overlooking the Spanish water, as well as my evening dip in the pool.
Situated in a quiet and friendly residential area, it's a perfect starting point for beach fun at Jan Thiel's or trips to Willemstad. Last but not least: a big thanks to anne-Marie for the excellent service! -

I booked this villa for a girls holiday. We really enjoyed it as we had all the space (and the pool) to ourselves and could all have our own bedroom.
The villa itself is spacious, clean and offers everything you would wish for.
There are loads of bars and restaurants in the area, but nothing really beats a BBQ & cocktails on your own terrace.
The owners were really nice and gave us lots of tips to make our stay here even better.
If you're looking for luxury, paired with a personal touch and tranquillity, than this is the place to go! -

Stayed in Villa Papilon from 11-17 april. Amazing house - I stayed on the top floor (there are 2 bedrooms on that floor, both with their own ensuite bathroom) - on the ground floor there were another 4 bedrooms and 2 additonal bathrooms.
The garden was great - there was a pool, comfortable sunbeds, an outdoor bar area, as well as a spacious terrace. Indoors was great too - there is beatiful art in the house and a comfortable living room with TV.
The house is centrally located in a residential area- close to Willemstad. You do need a car to get around the island, as public transport/taxi's aren't widely available.
I had to check a few things online during my stay, and the wireless internet connection worked fine. We also got some great recommendations from the owner - I can highly recommend the guided tour of the historic Unesco listed city centre of Willemstad. Our guide was a very knowledgable architect. He's been doing the tour since 1985 (!) but was still extremely enthusiastic.
All in all, we had a great stay, and when returning to Curacao, I will certainly return to Villa Papilon.
