Perfect base for area sight seeing !!

Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013

My brother booked this room - he's married to a Peruvian from Lima and had stayed here before.
Like the title says - perfect base for area travel. Thirfty, clean, safe, and well located. $2 USD taxi to anywhere in the city. $10 USD to the train station - Peroy (Machu Pichu). Rosemaire (owner) was helpful in every way.
Light breakfast was provided. Could not ask for more and price was great !!!
No surprises - just what you want after a long day / days of travel - complete w/ hot shower !!
4 beds i believe. My wife and I shared 1. My brother, his wife and 2 y/o shared another.

Comfortable, modern accommodations, wonderful, amiable hosts!

Left on 01/14/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Two couples shared this well-equipped apartment for a week. Located in a quiet, modern neighborhood a quick taxi ride from the cultural center of Cuzco, this was an ideal place to use as a base to explore the city. Our hosts Rose Marie and arturo made sure that we had safe transportation, laundry services, and even breakfast makings and fresh fruit every morning. Internet and wi-fi were available, as were 110 volt hair dryers. Every afternoon we returned from our happy explorations of this beautiful city to find tidy rooms and clean linens.
This was our first experience of city life in Peru without the safety net of a tour company managing us. It was totally positive and easy in this charming and comfortable apartment. We'll definitely be back.

We had two stays at Rosemarie's apartment during our Cusco area travels. She was such a gracious hostess, providing touring advice, storing extra luggage while we were away for a few days, and providing laundry service. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. We appreciated the daily variety of breakfast foods including fresh fruit.

If you're looking for a warm comfortable place to stay. This is it. Rosemarie is an excellent host and a charming person. If you were to compare to a hotel. I would give it 4 stars.
Not only did we feel welcome and cared for, but she helped us out with many of our excursions that we took around the Cuzco and Machu Picchu area.
If and when I go back to Cusco. It will most deftly be here again.

      A Great Place To Stay

Left on 09/29/2012 for a stay in September 2012

A great place for three adult friends to stay while in Cusco. We each had our own space. We were picked up at the airport by Rose Marie and her husband. They were very helpful when we needed anything. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast. The condo was always a nice and quite place to come back to after a long tour day.

      Great place and personal service

Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012

I stayed with my extended family here is april 2012. We were very comfortable and Rose Marie went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and safe. She even offered to let my seven-year-old join her son's soccer practice (there is a soccer field next door), and provided oxygen for my mother when she didn't feel well due to the altitude. Getting to the plaza de armas was easy in a taxi that you can call from the apartment. I highly recommend this apartment.

      Fantastic value and great service

Left on 09/09/2012 for a stay in August 2012

I chose this rental because we have vacation rentals of our own and although it was just me, I still found this large apartment a great value. The owner and hostess, Rosemarie, was attentive and very helpful. If I was to stay again for a trek to Machu Picchu, I would probably stay solo by the Plaza de armas, but I'm glad I experienced this location as I will be back to Cusco with my wife one day and will definitely consider staying here again. Breakfast food was ready for my preparation every day and although I only used one bedroom, there is a ton of space for a larger group. The location isn't far from the Plaza de armas (less than $2 taxi ride) and come with everything you would want and need in a vacation rental.

Fantastic place to share a family vacation

Left on 07/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We were met at the airport by a driver and taken to this spotless property. Rose Marie greated us with a kitchen stocked for breakfast. My husband and I shared our vacation with his sister and husband and we were all happy with the apartment. There is a full time doorman and Rose Marie is right around the corner.
The apartment is a short ride from the center, but the service, advice and kindness were so fantastic I recomend this enthusiastically. I am an avid traveler and this has been one of my best expieriences.

This is one of those Hard-to-find places!

Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We planned our vacation months in advanced. Rosemarie (the owner) was part of it from the beginning. She accepted our reservations by e-mail. She bought our Machu Picchu tickets for us because we were having problems using the debit Visa card to purchase them from the Sates. When we arrived at the airport in Cusco there taxi was there waiting. When we arrived at the hotel, Rosemarie was there to welcome us and to show us the place. It is the most comfortable apartment that you could ever wish for! Breakfast is always taken care of and fresh towels and clean rooms were the norm after a long day of having fun. The wireless internet works flawlessly so we were able to keep in touch with the States via emails, Facetime, skype and phonecalls using the Magic Jack app. Thinking back now, we never even bothered to make sure that the door was locked after shutting it. There is always a doorman at the gate to greet you and let you into the building. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe for walking even late at night. The recommended taxi service knows Rosemarie very well and they show up minutes after you call them. There rates are extremely low and may even be cheaper than finding a taxi on your own. There is a phone in the apartment for your convenience when calling the taxis and also to keep in touch with Rosemarie. If you are looking for a place to stay while in Cusco, do not even think twice about this place. It's one of those lucky finds!

      Wonderful stay

Left on 04/12/2012 for a stay in March 2012

The apartment was great. Modern, clean, safe, super comfortable, and lots of space. We were a big group with kids, so it was nice to have a kitchen (which was well stocked with breakfast foods and snacks.) And the owner was amazingly helpful. She gave lots of advice, helped us purchase bus tickets, arranged taxis. She even had an oxygen tank handy when some members of our group felt altitude sickness. She made sure we enjoyed our stay and we did.

This was a wonderful place to stay while traveling with our family. We had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, and living area. We used this as our base as we explored Cusco and ventured out to Machu Pichu. Everything was immaculate and the appliances and furniture are all new. Everything was as promised. We could walk down to the plaza area or easily take a cab into the historic area. The apartment is secure and the owner is absolutely wonderful!

I took my wife to see Machupicchu as a surprise anniverssary trip. It was absolutely the best experience ever! Rosemarie with Sarat'ika apart Hotel was nothing short of amazing! She asked us what are interests were and then made all of the arrangements for us. She provided us oxygen in the apartment to combat the altitude sickness and left something in the fridge every night for us to eat in the morning! I can't recommend this apartment enough... beautiful, functional, and wonderful service. Btw, if you are debating between spending more time in Cusco or Lima... go with Cusco!!

Go to Cusco and not stay at Sarat"IKa, well you never slept well

Left on 10/02/2011 for a stay in September 2011

It will be difficult for Us to forget the magical Cusco and above all the confort of Sarat"ika.
The apartment is super warm and inviting, it has a lot of light and the owner has been extremely careful in attending to each detail. We were fascinated with the people of Cusco, the arquitecture, the sights...and we did not find anything more perfect and restful than sleeping in Sarat"ika to recharge wich more and good energy.
We do not hesitate in recommending Sarat"ika . So...If you went to Cusco and did not stay at the Sarat"ika, well you simply did not sleep comfortably.
