Watch the lobster boats come in at Cutler Harbor (considered one of the prettiest and most unspoiled harbors on the east coast). Acadia National Park is a wonderful day trip as are Quoddy Head State Park, the towns of Lubec and Eastport, and Campobello Island (where FDR's summer home is located). The historic and scenic town of Machias is a short (and beautiful) drive and includes shops, restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, sightseeing and the University of Maine Campus. Spectacular hiking on our property and at Western Head and Bold Coast Trails in Cutler, as well as the above sites. Kayak / canoe rentals, whale-watching, puffin / arctic tern and seal spotting trips are all available nearby. However, many guests find they don't want to leave the property. Relax on the deck (with a piece of blueberry pie) and watch the sea change colors.
